I just kept putting it off. But they took care of several things on my car and even found, on the computer that one of the problems was still covered by insurance! Imagine my surprise that I was not charged for it! This time it was new tires and new brakes. Both times they treated me and my son with such personal service.Charlene Newton is the wonderful lady who constantly told us what was needed and answered all questions. The personal service was impeccable--and appreciated. We definitely will be back if needed.

Well this review is tough-things I loved about getting this car:…read moreGreat communication leading up to purchase. We were coming from out of town so we spoke a few times-always nice, honest about being able to hold the car (they could not) and friendly. We spoke on the phone and via email. We arrived when they opened, car was being washed. The service team was top notch-even wiping windows down when they brought it to the front. We did a test drive, absolutely loved the car, it was exactly what I was looking for. The process was fairly easy, the usual time spent purchasing a car. Facilities were clean, staff were nice. Now to my issue-both rear windows would not go up all the way. When I pointed this out, they immediately addressed it, took it back to the service center to look at. They brought it back out, a bit better but still an issue. One of the salesmen assured us it was fine, to keep it clean and we would not have that issue. I was very hesitant as I just had motors replaced on my previous mustang for the same issue. They looked at it two different times, assured us it was fixed. I still would have bought the car but I do think they should have came down a bit because just as I had said-the motors have to be replaced on both sides. Overall good experience, great car-irritated about already having to replace parts.

When questioned, they blamed Autotrader--yet other dealers' listings matched across platforms. Their vehicles still are priced thousands lower days later. They still haven't bothered to correct this alleged "mistakes". I also received an "out-the-door" price via text from a manager and was told they could make it happen. The next day, that price suddenly increased by over $2,000. Just need a little honesty when working with customers. I have no issues if your prices are high. Just don't be deceptive. There are dealerships that operate with transparency and integrity--this was not one of them. I ultimately purchased elsewhere. Integrity matters.

From the first call to the sales department, every step of the way, our leasing of our new car was organized, prompt, extremely service-oriented, kind, fun, and oddly relaxing. Joe LeDuc, a sales rep, made the entire experience a joy. For the rest of my life, I never want to buy/lease a vehicle from anyone else.

Let me first say that we have now purchased five Volkswagens from various Chicago-area dealerships,…read moreso we are very familiar with the brand and the typical dealership experience. Unfortunately, our experience with City VW of Highland was by far the most disappointing. When purchasing a certified pre-owned vehicle, customers expect the dealership to conduct a thorough multi-point inspection, often covering well over 100 items. Based on our experience, I seriously question how thorough that inspection was. Within 10-15 minutes of driving the vehicle off the lot, the oil warning light came on. After getting the car home, I noticed streaking on the passenger side of the windshield and discovered the windshield wiper was held together with electrical tape. We also found stickers on the vehicle's interior ceiling. When closing the passenger door, I heard a rattling noise and later found beer caps and an air freshener can wedged inside the storage compartment. Altogether, these issues added to the impression that the car had not been properly cleaned, inspected, or prepared before delivery. Individually, these issues may seem minor, but together they raise serious concerns about the quality of the dealership's inspection and preparation process. If these obvious problems were missed, it makes me wonder what else may have been overlooked. Normally, the oil warning light would have prompted us to return to the dealership immediately. However, after already spending more than five hours there during the purchase process (on Monday of Memorial Day weekend, not a high-volume day at the dealership) --with little to no hospitality from the dealership beyond access to a vending machine fulled with junk food--we had absolutely no desire to go back. Overall, this experience fell well below the standard we've come to expect from Volkswagen dealerships. The entire process was so frustrating and disappointing that it honestly makes us hesitant to purchase another vehicle anytime soon.
