This was another stop on our meandering evening walk and we lingered here for quite a while to enjoy the live musical performances at the adjoining Hank's Hair of the Dog Saloon with a talented singer and guitar player, Noah. We took a break and headed over to the food truck placed on site and ordered fantastic shrimp tacos and cold beer. Dining seating is scattered around the patio and service is fast and friendly.
This is my wife and I favorite spot in all of Key West. It's attached to Hank's bar which is also a fun time. The drinks are flowing. The food is delicious and the live music is usually 10 out of 10. The food truck, which is garbo's grill has done something that one didn't think it was possible which is serving tastier seafood than a traditional restaurant. The tacos to the lobster roll they're truly, is not a bad option on the menu. We love this place so much that our wedding weekend had a night specifically here for all of our friends and family to enjoy. It's also very dog friendly, which is always a plus. We come back every single trip because it's a "can't miss". The service is always quick and efficient.
I am giving Garbo's Grills four stars overall. The food was solid and tasty, and it hit the spot for what I was craving. While it was enjoyable, nothing really stood out as extraordinary or memorable. The menu had a good variety, and the service was friendly enough, making it a comfortable place to stop for a casual meal. The atmosphere was straightforward and unpretentious, which made it easy to enjoy a quick bite without any fuss. Portions were reasonable, and prices were fair for the quality of food. Overall, it is a dependable spot for a casual meal when you are nearby, even if it does not leave a lasting impression. It is worth visiting if you are in the area and looking for something simple and satisfying.
This is a must if you're in town! The lobster roll was so fresh, packed full of lobster and in the best roll! Plus, Zapp's chips! Friendly happy people taking orders! It's a food truck in a dog friendly bar, there was a fun band playing and lots of seating! Great spot!!
First let me say this was a late night snack. I had a beef burrito that was Korean style I believe. The meat which was 95%+ beef was very tender cuts of beef. There was very little if any for fill like cabbage or any vegetables. also the meat was so saturated with soy and other seasoning that you could not hold it. It was dripping everywhere. My experience with Asian is a little go goes a long way for soy or other seasonings. I know they come highly rated but I think they could tailor this to still be a very popular offering and much more profitable with some cabbage and carrot and less of that very tender beef.
Only 4 tables on a cute nicely shaded patio and it was busy for a Tuesday lunch. Food truck style ordering. We had shrimp Cayo Bowl and a Fish Cayo Bowl. Plenty of food. Fish was flaky and perfectly cooked. So was the shrimp. Sauce was tangy and paired well with the other toppings
The burger was great, Korean beef tacos were very flavorful and full of meat (dry and saucy at the same time). Shrimp tacos were pretty good but cold. Service was fast and friendly. Live music from place it is attached to. Very minimal seating and tables/chairs were not very clean. Wouldn't avoid the place and wouldn't seek it out either.
I decided to try this food truck because everyone was raving about the burgers. I let the server pick my meal for me as I wanted to try the most popular burger. Service was quick and I was able to entertain myself in the neighboring establishment while I waited. The burger was so tasty that I didn't need to add any condiments. The meat was a little on the salty side but well cooked. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and definitely plan to return the next time I visit Key West.
Great place to grab a bite from a food truck hooked onto hanks bar. Food is fresh . Hot dogs on the spicier side with fresh mango and sauce and a sweeter soft bun. The bowls are full of great fresh shrimp and slaw. Very flavorful. Took a while as they were one person down, yet with live music and dogs from hanks bar it did not matter to us much.
Great spot for food and drinks in a fun outdoor beer garden environment that somehow feels secluded from the hustle of nearby Duval Street. The food is awesome: a fun menu of quick, fresh, and flavorful made-to-order meals at a good price point. Unfussy but nutritious. Bar atmosphere is energetic but not overwhelming. Great drinks with relaxed but friendly service, great music. Definitely hit up this spot!
Every time I visit Garbo's I'm surprised by the portion size. There no such thing as a small meal and that's okay! Seats are a premium and you may find yourself standing for dinner. However, Key West is the perfect place to eat outside with some lights hanging from the trees with a live band playing. It's good for families, good for couples, and a pretty good place overall for a fairly quick bite to eat.
We had the umami burgers and they were delicious! Very cute and cozy spot under some trees. I definitely want to go back and try the Korean bbq tacos.
Came here for dinner during our first evening in town. We walked right up to it just off of Duval Street and had no idea it was attached to a bar with live music going on. A pleasant surprise. So we found a table, got some drinks, and then came over to order some grub. We started off with the Yum Yum Shrimp Burrito (house made mango ginger habanero glazed shrimp, served Cayo Style (red cabbage, mango, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, and our house Caribbean sauce)). This thing was massive. And it was delicious. Massively delicious. Good amount of shrimp in there, cooked well, with a sweet heat from the glaze, beautiful. Lots of veg inside, too, but not too much, everything had it's purpose. Crunchy red cabbage, bite from the onion, heat from the jalapeno, it was just very good. Get this. Next came the UmamiBurger (1/2lb fresh ground angus, topped with a heirloom tomato, applewood bacon, chipotle gouda then served on a grilled brioche bun. If you are feeling adventurous ask for the Landon Calrissian). This thing was also huge. I had no idea I'd get excellent portion sizes on an island that's basically a tourist trap. This burger was perfect. I can't stress that enough. Just go look at the pic. Large, juicy, well-seasoned, extra cheesy, perfect amount of veg, a strong bun, served with Voodoo chips. This might be the best thing I ate all my time on Key West. Oh, and yes, I did get the Lando(n?) Calrissian. What that is is a heaping scoop of their Korean beef bulgogi in addition to their burger patty. So good. So ridiculous it was a lot of fun. The final thing were the Korean BBQ Tacos (house made marinated beef short rib, napa cabbage, scallions, carrots, daikon, cilantro, citrus soy dressing, and sriracha). These were less tacos and more just an excessive amount of meat falling off of a tortilla. Not complaining. It was excellent. Their marinade was very apartment and strong. But not too strong. All the little veg items basically made this a delicious bahn mi taco. Very good. My visit here was amazing. Amazing food, amazing patio with live music, a full bar on property with booze and N/A options. Honestly, if I ever come back to the Keys, I'd come back here.

We ordered the shrimp tacos, the fish tacos and the mango hot dog. Delicious. My order of favorites was: fish, shrimp, mango hot dog. My wife's order of favorites was shrimp tacos, mango hot dog and fish taco. (We split all 3). Bottom line, absolutely would recommend and you can order anything and be very satisfied. Food: We ordered the yum yum fish taco, mango dog and mushroom tacos. The tacos aren't that good as the reviews suggest. It's quite bland. They do not offer chicken options. Consider this place only if you want to try shrimp taco. Although the key lime pie is one of the BEST I have ever tried. 10/10 for key lime pie. Drinks: Key lime pineapple mojito was quite delicious. Service: it is an opening seating place and has self service. Ambiance: there is live music every evening. read more

I am definitely giving this place 5 stars. I am glad this place exists because it is hard to find affordable places with tasty food in Key West. The food truck, run by a lovely couple, is tucked behind Hank Hair of the Dog Saloon. BTW, you can also order drinks from the Saloon. The bartenders will come around to take your drink order. Garbo Grill is certainly eclectic. They serve interesting tacos, burritos, burgers, and hot dogs. My favorite item is the Korean BBQ tacos. I just love that it is sweet, spicy, and citrusy at the same time. Also, they are not cheap with the meat either. So far, it is my favorite place to eat in Key West. read more

UMAMIBURGER- Enjoy this mouth watering burger (Video explains it all) I/2ib fresh ground angus, topped with a heirlom tomato applewood bacon, chipotle gouda then served on a griled brioche bun. First of all this DDD isn't the easiest to find... That's because it's tucked away off of Caroline St and connected to Hanks Hair of the dog saloon. That used to be a place called Grunts years ago. Just look for a small neon sign that's located at the street. Garbo's is a small airstream that is located in the back of the dive bar next door. We came in for lunch, shortly after they opened. For her, those Korean bbq tacos with the sriracha on the side. That's a good idea if you're trying them. As they are already a little spicy to begin with. I chose the Umami burger with Gouda cheese. Both were excellent. Just a tip, you'll need extra napkins for either one. It's a fun area, they do offer up booze that's available from next door. That also has live music daily. This is a permanent food truck inside Hank's bar. They are serving up some late night seafood treats that I found to be pretty tasty! Friend got the lobster roll and I got the mahi tacos and both were stellar! Price for both dishes combined was about $42, but worth it. The fish/lobster were very fresh as you would expect. Plus you can keep partying while you eat! read more

Garbo's Grill is a food truck in the back of Hank's Hair of the Dog. There is lots of outdoor seating in an extremely fun atmosphere surrounded by trees. We originally came during lunch time and wanted to just try several different kinds of tacos. However, there was no way to order a single taco or change out the singular taco type combos on their menu, so it would have cost about $45 to try 3 different tacos. We came back during happy hour, which is from 4-7pm. They had a 3 taco platter for $11, which consisted of fish, shrimp and Korean bbq. The Korean bbq taco was fantastic and I would come back just to eat that. read more

Featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives, this place has excellent even if a bit pricey outside of happy hours (daily 4-6 or 10-12midnight). We loved the Korean bbq burrito and yum yum shrimp tacos. Scrumptious, grilled, spicy, flavor-filled and perfectly cooked! No rubber shrimp here! We've been back twice on this trip so far! read more

So cool of a place! Tucked away behind Hanks, this little food truck cranks out delectable tacos, burgers and dogs off their grill. We had the Lorean beef and shrimp tacos. Both were delish! The beef taco was tender and flavorful but would have benefited from having a sauce o think. My daughter had the burger and loved it! The Zapp's creole chips is a nice touch. From Hank's you get to experience the live music. They have shade everywhere and fans blowing to keep the air moving on a hot day. Very good idea to stop here for some great grub and live tunes. read more

Two of my friends and I came on a Sunday at 1PM for a quick bite before walking around town. The tacos were very tasty and took about 10-15 minutes. They had live music which was fun. They also had fans outside and there was some shade so it wasn't too hot. read more

Ate dinner here after watching the sunset at Mallory square. This is a food truck style that is located at Hanks bar. We got here just before the bigger crowds came and were able to find a seat immediately despite it being seat yourself. There was a pretty good band playing at hanks. We got there just before happy hour ended and for 3 tacos for $11 which I think is a steal. Fish, shrimp and Korean beef which I thought were all very good. read more

Interesting set up, the food truck is all the way in the back but there is an outdoor seating area where a waitress comes to you for only drink orders. Once you place your food order you get a buzzer then pick up at the truck when it alerts you. We split the Korean BBQ tacos woah they fill them to the max with delicious meat! My friends both got the Kogi dog which they devoured and her son got the wagyu burger which was a bit of a disappointment. My cousin also got the shrimp tacos which were delicious but way overpriced for the amount of shrimp they give you. Our waitress was a funny character and checked up on us regularly. In the back next to the truck they also have some souvenirs for purchase. Chill spot to try out just be cautious of the price/portion for some of the menu items. read more

I'm a little confused of the set up. We went up to order our food and paid, then sat down with our beeper, a server came up to us while waiting. Served us drinks and paid again with the server? Its almost like the food truck is a seperate establishment from the bar/entertainment. Anyway, other than that, good music, good food, good folks, not bad. Would I recommend this place? Yes, at least for a try. My wife said the pina colada was bangin. Yum yum shrimp burrito korean style - 8/10 PROS: Tasted very good CONS: Price to portion ratio was ehh Umamiburger - 9/10 PROS: Double the patty, seasoned well. Tasted delicious. CONS: There was something chunky in the meat, chewy like tendons. I'm personally ok with it idk if it's for everyone. read more
We missed stopping by in 2019 and vowed never to let that happen again! We got our "usuals" and once again blown away with the flavors of the burrito (dont waste your time-order it spicy) and the hamburger..definitely one of our favorites!
