Can't come to Key West without stopping in to get some of the best tacos on the island at Garbo's. It's always just been a food truck but they now have a small patio seating area next to Hanks Hair of the Dog bar. We got one order of the Cayo fish tacos to share. Each order comes with two tacos. We chose a bench in the shade on the patio where some chickens were wandering around picking up bits of food dropped by the patrons. It was fun to watch them run in a group when one spotted something had fallen. Our tacos were ready quickly and after the first bite we immediately regretted not getting a table because they are a bit messy with all the delicious toppings. Oh well! I persevered and used a napkin to soak up the juice and the chickens took care of of the rest. I will never miss an opportunity to visit Garbo's when in Key West.
As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is alive and electric. Young lady at the counter of a very recognizable food truck takes your order and excites the transaction without even the blink of an eye. I had the most exciting Hot Dog in my life and I have had all the greats from American to English, German, Italian, Thai and many others that I could go on with. But this was a hot dog like no other. A Kogi Dog, A 1/4 pound national deli all beef hot dog, house made kimchi, sesame mayo, fried cheese, cabbage, scallions, carrots, daikon, citrus soy dressing, and sriracha. This dog had more popping tastes than there were Japs at Pearl Harbor.
This was another stop on our meandering evening walk and we lingered here for quite a while to enjoy the live musical performances at the adjoining Hank's Hair of the Dog Saloon with a talented singer and guitar player, Noah. We took a break and headed over to the food truck placed on site and ordered fantastic shrimp tacos and cold beer. Dining seating is scattered around the patio and service is fast and friendly.
This is my wife and I favorite spot in all of Key West. It's attached to Hank's bar which is also a fun time. The drinks are flowing. The food is delicious and the live music is usually 10 out of 10. The food truck, which is garbo's grill has done something that one didn't think it was possible which is serving tastier seafood than a traditional restaurant. The tacos to the lobster roll they're truly, is not a bad option on the menu. We love this place so much that our wedding weekend had a night specifically here for all of our friends and family to enjoy. It's also very dog friendly, which is always a plus. We come back every single trip because it's a "can't miss". The service is always quick and efficient.
I am giving Garbo's Grills four stars overall. The food was solid and tasty, and it hit the spot for what I was craving. While it was enjoyable, nothing really stood out as extraordinary or memorable. The menu had a good variety, and the service was friendly enough, making it a comfortable place to stop for a casual meal. The atmosphere was straightforward and unpretentious, which made it easy to enjoy a quick bite without any fuss. Portions were reasonable, and prices were fair for the quality of food. Overall, it is a dependable spot for a casual meal when you are nearby, even if it does not leave a lasting impression. It is worth visiting if you are in the area and looking for something simple and satisfying.
This is a must if you're in town! The lobster roll was so fresh, packed full of lobster and in the best roll! Plus, Zapp's chips! Friendly happy people taking orders! It's a food truck in a dog friendly bar, there was a fun band playing and lots of seating! Great spot!!
First let me say this was a late night snack. I had a beef burrito that was Korean style I believe. The meat which was 95%+ beef was very tender cuts of beef. There was very little if any for fill like cabbage or any vegetables. also the meat was so saturated with soy and other seasoning that you could not hold it. It was dripping everywhere. My experience with Asian is a little go goes a long way for soy or other seasonings. I know they come highly rated but I think they could tailor this to still be a very popular offering and much more profitable with some cabbage and carrot and less of that very tender beef.
Only 4 tables on a cute nicely shaded patio and it was busy for a Tuesday lunch. Food truck style ordering. We had shrimp Cayo Bowl and a Fish Cayo Bowl. Plenty of food. Fish was flaky and perfectly cooked. So was the shrimp. Sauce was tangy and paired well with the other toppings
The burger was great, Korean beef tacos were very flavorful and full of meat (dry and saucy at the same time). Shrimp tacos were pretty good but cold. Service was fast and friendly. Live music from place it is attached to. Very minimal seating and tables/chairs were not very clean. Wouldn't avoid the place and wouldn't seek it out either.
I decided to try this food truck because everyone was raving about the burgers. I let the server pick my meal for me as I wanted to try the most popular burger. Service was quick and I was able to entertain myself in the neighboring establishment while I waited. The burger was so tasty that I didn't need to add any condiments. The meat was a little on the salty side but well cooked. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and definitely plan to return the next time I visit Key West.
Great place to grab a bite from a food truck hooked onto hanks bar. Food is fresh . Hot dogs on the spicier side with fresh mango and sauce and a sweeter soft bun. The bowls are full of great fresh shrimp and slaw. Very flavorful. Took a while as they were one person down, yet with live music and dogs from hanks bar it did not matter to us much.
Great spot for food and drinks in a fun outdoor beer garden environment that somehow feels secluded from the hustle of nearby Duval Street. The food is awesome: a fun menu of quick, fresh, and flavorful made-to-order meals at a good price point. Unfussy but nutritious. Bar atmosphere is energetic but not overwhelming. Great drinks with relaxed but friendly service, great music. Definitely hit up this spot!
Every time I visit Garbo's I'm surprised by the portion size. There no such thing as a small meal and that's okay! Seats are a premium and you may find yourself standing for dinner. However, Key West is the perfect place to eat outside with some lights hanging from the trees with a live band playing. It's good for families, good for couples, and a pretty good place overall for a fairly quick bite to eat.

I was not expecting to LOVE it as much as I did. It was a very hot day and I stumbled upon this place while walking. I ordered the fish tacos and I was thinking it was pricey until I TOOK A BITE AND IT WAS HEAVENLY. I mean it's probably my absolute favorite fish taco I've ever had. And I travel for a living so I've had a lot of different foods. Stop in here, you won't regret it!! read more

Wow!! This place has awesome food. It was so good that we ate here twice in a four day period. We had the taco trio all of which were outstanding, the shrimp taco was my favorite. We also had the umami sliders, delicious! If we ever go back to Key West we will eat here again for sure!! The food was fresh, very flavorful and well priced. The atmosphere was fun with great live music. I recommend going during their happy hour! read more

Amazing tacos. Quite large, was full off 2. You can't mix and match except for happy hour. We got an order of the Korean tacos and Cayo fish tacos. The cayo fish sauce and flavor was great but the Korean tacos were the absolute best! Highly recommend read more
I've been try eat tacos a lot at other city but this is one of the best tacos place. The food truck was little hard to find at first time because it's behind a bar restaurant. We parked car around there and walked about few mins. They have a limited sits and I thought no good for big group. I worried if we have to waited line so long but we got lucky, they're not busy. We ordered fish tacos, korean bbq tacos, shrimp tacos. Everything was amazing but korean bbq tacos were salty to my licking. I give 4star only reason for salty. Overall, it worth try. I recently took a trip to Key West with my little sister, and I'm pretty sure at least five people told us that we had to get lunch from Garbo's at some point. Needless to say, I'm so glad we listened, because we ended up having the best fish tacos of our lives. Garbo's itself is such the perfect Key West experience... the menu is flavorful, the colors bright, and the atmosphere around their little food stand is so fun. They had great music playing, and people were just sitting around at the tables and on top of coolers enjoying their lunches. Garbo's definitely has a very casual and comfortable vibe... you can come straight from the beach and fit right in. We grabbed orange sodas from the cooler and ordered the fish tacos, and ohhhh my God, you guys. They were just so fantastic... the mahi was fresh, and the jalapeño, cabbage, strips of mango, and cilantro were perfect. There was also a sauce on top that almost burned my mouth off, but in great way. Two tacos will fill you up, and trust me when I say that you'll be very happy. I only wish we could have come back another day because their burgers also looked out of this world! They also have mango dogs that looked just as great. Garbo's is the quintessential Key West experience... go with an empty stomach and you'll leave with a huge smile. There's a moment in everyone's life that changes you for the better. Maybe you've seen the light, maybe it was an aha moment. My life-altering experience was a few nights ago at Garbo's Grill when I devoured the Bulgogi Tacos. Apparently, Garbo's was a small food cart for many years. Now in the last month, it has upgraded itself to a substantial food truck. Not knowing at the time, we merely wanted a quick, affordable and delicious meal. Garbo's provides all three and then some. First off, Asian-inspired tacos are my absolute favorite to begin with. Here, they knock it out of the park with their take on Korean BBQ. The marinated meat is overflowing and flavorful as can be. The spicy sriracha hits you next and boy it's spicy. Then, the crisp slaw comes into play. HOLY MOLY this is one of my all-time favorite meals! Absolutely stellar. The other members of my party had the Yum Yum Shrimp Tacos and the Unami Burger. They were both blown away as well. We waited about 10-12 minutes for our food. If you'd like a beer you are encouraged to swing by Grunt's next door. Yelp, where's the sixth star button? Garbo's deserves the honor! read more
Garbo's was literally our last meal before leaving Key West and as we finished eating the wife said "best meal I've had here." You know, she was right and it was super affordable and right next to a bar! So on top of all that, the food is good. Since I wanted a little bit of everything that's exactly what I got. Two of the Korean tacos, two of the Shrimp tacos (Cayo style) and the kogidog. The line had just ebbed when we got there so the wait to order wasn't too long and our wait was pleasant with one of the owners chatting up people, helping them arrange seating and generally being nice. The tacos aren't little taqueria style tacos, they're huge and loaded with your toppings depending on what you get. I immediately looked at these 4, mini pillows and it as well as a giant hot dog I wasn't sure if I could finish it all. Fortunately, it was tasty enough that I could. If you're going to get the Korean tacos, get the shrimp ones too and it's like surf and turf. The dog is a mouthful with a nice sized dog in there under a mound of cabbage and other toppings. First of all, this food truck is the bomb! It cracks me up i am a REGULAR here and i am from outta town! Fresh, fabulous and flavorful food. What more could you want? Definitely order the tacos over the all beef hot dogs, they are a 5-star option. If you prefer spice or a little heat, go for the Korean beef tacos. The mahi mahi fish tacos have a tasty Caribbean mango flavor. The walk up service is great. The cooks will work with you regarding special requests. For me, personally, I wish they had an egg option.. The patio is great when the sun is shining, and it is warm outside, sitting at one of the tables. The only negative, is trying to find a parking space, it is at a premium. Parking at the meter is the best option, if you can find one. Also, remember, according to my tip, the truck is located on the grounds of GRUNTS bar. Apparently, Garbo's grill recently moved there. read more

What a perfect little place to relax, listen to music, get a drink from the front bar and an awesome burger. The umami burger we got for a "snack" and it was delicious. Burger was cooked perfectly and the brioche bun was amazing. My hubby especially loved that they give you a bag of zapps voodoo chips with your burger. We sat on the patio area into the night with the cute lights and atmosphere. Glad we snuck back to this one. Definitely worth the side street trip. read more

Saw Garbo's on Triple D several years ago and had the Korean B.B.Q. tacos a few years ago when I was in Key West for work. They were unbelievable. Brought the family back for spring break and had to have the tacos again. We all got them and the wait was worth it. Unbelievable flavor!!! Huge portion at a fair price. They are incredible, you can't go wrong. Best I've ever had!!!! read more

This was our first time visiting key west and the bartender from Fat Tuesday recommended this place- he did not disappoint. I'd fly all the way back to key west just for these tacos (and I live in Texas, so that's saying something). read more

The best tacos I've ever had and probably my favorite dish out of 12-14 meals on our honeymoon. The Korean beef specifically is absolutely out of bounds. Would give anything to have one where I live. An absolute MUST if you're in Key West. It sits in the back of a cool little spot called Hanks Hair of the Dog where they'll take care of your beverages and spirits while Garbo's does the cooking. I'll dream about these tacos for years to come. read more

I actually came here TWICE on the same day because they ran out of BOTH fish taco + Korean bulgogi taco when I first got here at 3 PM. Well I drove 3+ hours from Homestead to Key West and I wasn't going to leave here empty-handed until I get to try those tacos. So I revisited Garbo's Grill again at 8 PM ... sigh, talk about 1st world foodie problems. *** FIRST VISIT, TWO STARS *** Currently, the food stand is hidden behind Grunt's Bar (just follow and zoom in Yelp's pin mark). I first came here close to 3 PM and the lady who took my order said that they ran out of both Korean taco and fish taco, so I decided to order something first and come back here for dinner later. Whenever you order anything with jalapeño or Sriracha, the staff will ask whether you want those two ingredients. Once your order is ready, your buzzer will ring. *** Mango Dog (National Deli Quarter Pound Dog, Mango, Onion, Fresh Jalapeno, and House Made Caribbean Sauce, $7): NOT worth 35-minute wait (yes it took THAT long to prepare a hot dog) ... interesting concept, but I was disappointed with the bun. Personally, the mango & hot dog combination just didn't work out for me and Sweet Dogs in Miami (http://www.yelp.com/biz/sweet-dogs-miami) has much better hot dogs. (2/5) *** SECOND VISIT, FOUR AND HALF STARS *** Time flies when you want something really badly. "One fish taco and one Korean taco please", I immediately said "The total is $22", she replied. I was completely stunned for 15 seconds because I wasn't expecting $22 JUST FOR TWO FREAKIN TACOS! After I regained my conscious and sense of reason, that was when I saw "two tacos per order" listed on the menu. Eventually I told the lady that I only wanted one of EACH taco PER ORDER. The next thing I knew, she simply said that she misunderstood what I said and immediately updated my order. Man, I was almost charged extra $11 for additional taco order that I will never be able to finish. *** Cayo's Fish Taco (Fresh Catch of the Day, Red Cabbage, Mango, Onion, Jalapeno, Cilantro, and House Made Caribbean Sauce, $5.37 for ONE taco): Okay ... I will have to admit that fish was really good (tasted fresh and juicy, but not exactly melt-in-your-mouth). Tender fish with a little bit of sourness + spiciness from jalapeño. This taco is definitely a must order. WARNING: Pay attention to fish bones! (4.5/5) Korean Bulgogi Taco (Beef Shortrib, Napa Cabbage, Carrots, Daikon, Scallions, Citrus Soy Dressing, and Sriracha, $4.90 for ONE taco): As someone who has been eating Asian food for more than decades, this taco was actually pretty good. The only thing to critique about was slightly overpowering sweet sauce (a bit on salty side), but yea I can see why this taco was featured in Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Drives (http://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/diners-drive-ins-and-dives/videos/dv1900/kickin-it-in-key-west.vid-0226186.html). *** CONCLUSION *** Again maybe it's just me, but I think the lady had a slight attitude problem with me and mango dog wasn't that great at all. However, tacos were amazing and I would get fish taco(s) first and follow by Korean bulgogi taco(s). Believe the hype. The Korean tacos are magically delicious. I didn't fully understand why we had to wait so long for food that came off of a food truck....but I guess I can't complain because it was made fresh? Avoid the crowds and go during non lunch and non dinner hours. You'll not only get your food in a timely manner but also get a seat at the bar which is also on property. This is a key west must eat. read more

This off the beaten path food truck is "da bomb." We had the umami burger on the first visit. The taste explodes in your mouth. Thus - da bomb. After a sunset cruise on Danger Charters (another must do) we stopped in for a late night snack and had the Korean BBQ tacos. These were a tad spicy, but perfectly so. Heaping portion of delicious meat. Tamed just right with cilantro and lime. Yummy. read more
