I am extremely upset and honestly shocked by the level of care we received at this office…read more I brought my almost 6-year-old son, who has a disability, in because his face was swollen, his mouth smelled bad, and he had a fever. It was very obvious he had a serious dental issue, likely an infection. Instead, we were seen by someone named Soha Hemmat, who introduced herself as a doctor, but based on this experience, I seriously question her competence. She spent less than two minutes examining my son. No thorough check, no concern, no effort. She dismissed everything as "just a virus," told us to brush his teeth and give him Tylenol, and walked out like the situation didn't matter. That was completely wrong -- and dangerously negligent. My son's fever continued, and his condition did not improve. We had to contact his actual doctor and take him back to be seen again just six hours later. He was properly examined and diagnosed with a clear infection, and immediately given antibiotics. This could have gotten much worse because of her careless and dismissive attitude. I have been coming to this office for four years and have always had professional experiences, which makes this even more disappointing. But this encounter was unacceptable. No parent -- especially one with a child who has special needs -- should be brushed off like this. This office seriously needs to address this situation. Either provide proper training or reevaluate who they allow to treat patients, because this level of incompetence and lack of care is not just unprofessional -- it's dangerous. Be very careful if you are seen by this person.

I had a filling done with Dr Schaffer about 5 months ago and after being charged $500 for a nerve…read moreblocker that allegedly my insurance didn't cover he drilled too deep and aggravated the nerve. I went back 2 times within the next month to have the filling "ground down" since thats what he told me would erase the pain when chewing but even after a very painful grinding of the filling the nerve is still severely agitated. On top of all that the filling FELL OUT today completely exposing the nerve and causing excruciating pain. I will be going to a different dentist to see if my tooth can be saved. I do not recommend Dr Schaffer he does not know what he's doing.

Melissa, the dental hygenist, always does a great job cleaning my teeth too. Recently I had a cavity inside a crown that had to be replaced. Was not looking forward to going thru the shot to numb the area, lip numbness and drilling. From the moment I sat in the chair, Dr. Kurt Christensen could not have made that process any easier...and painless! And guess what? He makes the new crown while you're there, so you don't have to wear a temporary for a couple weeks, then have to make another appt. to come back for the permanent crown. This process is done all in ONE visitl! When I came home from being 'crowned', my sweetheart asked if I needed to take a rest after my procedure. Told him that I didn't feel like I'd even been to the dentist...wow! Dr. Christensen is professional and personable...and YES, I do look forward to my next visit to the dentist. I have a complicated medical history and Dr. Mirkhan and her staff (Diane and Emi) took extra care to make sure I was safe, that procedure was safe for me and that I was not going to be allergic to anything they were using or going to give to me. Because of my complicated medical history, I did a lot of research to find a new dental surgeon after recently moving back from Chicago. As stated by other reviewers, Dr. Mirkhan has many awards for her outstanding work and has been recognized by her peers and the community for the same. My personal experience has been exceptional and I would highly recommend Dr. Mirkhan and am incredibly happy to have found her! I will absolutely be returning to her for any future dental needs.

I was charged for maintenance and a comprehensive evaluation on every visit, which is excessive and not in any way standard. I was charged for a deep cleaning without any local anesthetic, which amounts to a regular cleaning. And I was recommended to have an invasive surgery, and when I got second opinions by two other dentists and a periodontist, they all very confidently recommended against said procedure based on my XRs, probings and clinical picture and all three felt I was being recommended an unnecessary service.
