Delivered wrong item, called to complain and was told oh well. This restaurant has been here forever and the locals like to sing it's praise but reality this is a sub par Italian restaurant. People of butler won't complain because it feels like a hit on the city. And actually they do not complain much of all. That's what has allowed the restaurant to continue. And it doesn't matter if you do because they will do nothing, not smart lossing a customer for a pizza. I was a cracker barrel general manager in the early 2000s. The wedding soup was delicious! Homemade, with lots of little meatballs, tender, delicious chunks of chicken in a savory broth. The breadsticks are delicious as are the house made rolls. Don't eat here. You deserve better, Butler. The wait staff is very friendly and is trying very hard, but their ineptitude is what makes the final result so bad. After hearing our server bragging on and on about how their sauces are made daily in house we gave it a try. But first, I had to call her back because she started to leave without taking my order. All of the pasta dishes were bland and very, very bad. They seemed to be out of lemons, because there were ORANGE chunks strewn ALL over my veal piccata and my son's shrimp Alfredo. Attempting Chicken piccata without lemons is like making lemonade without lemons. It should not have been considered or served. We never got our pizza to our table, since the server never put the order into the kitchen. Only when she came back and asked if we needed anything. Yes, actually our son has no food yet!? I'd say they might want to start getting their sauces from a can, it could only improve everything we tasted. Don't eat here. read more

Villa Grande is a small Italian restaurant with most of your standard classic American/Italian dishes. We've tried a few of their dishes here, our favorite being the eggplant parmesan sandwich. Their pizza is okay, the crust is fairly dry and hard. I wouldn't recommend the appetizer sampler as they are subpar. Sometimes you are served breadsticks and marinara, which is good if they remember to bring it to you. The service is very very slow here, but it typically seems to be only two waitresses covering the entire dining room. Although it takes a long time for service, you are greeted with a smile and you can tell they have a lot of regular customers. I would recommend this place if you like average American/Italian food, but there are definitely better options. read more

My wife and I had not been to this restuarant for years, so we weren't sure what to expect. But we had a gift certificate and decided to use it. Both lunches were fantastic: a steak sandwich and a meatball and green pepper calzone. Our server Grace was a delight and checked up on us frequently. She was friendly and helpful and added a nice touch to what was already a great meal. The desserts look very tempting but after an appetizer of tomato bruschetta and our meals, we didn't have room. Great place to grab some dinner after playing golf at Conley's. Overall, I thought that the food was quite good. I tried the bread sticks, clam chowder, and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. You can also choose another protein, such as shrimp to go with your pasta. I found the atmosphere to be relatively casual. Felt like you were eating in your Italian grandmother's little house. I appreciated that mostly everything was made from scratch. The bread was really good! So much better than Olive Garden's breadsticks. It has far more flavor and a great texture. My fettuccine Alfredo came in quite a large portion. It was buttery, but not overwhelmingly so. It also had plenty of cheese and a decent amount of chicken with it. You can change your sauce to a pink sauce for a few extra dollars. The dish cost $12-13 without chicken, which costs an additional $3. Very reasonable prices, especially for the portions. Also tried some soup, Erich was the clam chowder. I'm not usually a fan of it, but this clam chowder was really tasty! Not too creamy and packed with fish. Definitely recommend! If you are in the Butler area, I recommend giving this place a try for sure! Way better than Olive Garden, by far. read more

This business gives the area a communitity feeling of love. Everytime I go in there I am greeted with a hello and a smile. Not only from the owner, Jay but the front staff as well. Today I had a mishap when my bank deduct an order from my account that I did try to order at the restuarant, online but Villa Grande did not get it. I explained this to Jay and he said. "Take the food at this time(even though I had the money in my hand) and don't pay...wait to see of my bank drops my money back in my account, then come in and pay for it. Pizza is one of best in Butler for sure. Can't go wrong there. As for other food, maybe average. Lasagna is good, but nothing special. The meatballs are dense and rather tasteless. They feel overworked and taste one-dimensional. House salad, tbh, is an embarrassing plate of iceberg lettuce and unripe tomato. I was shocked that an Italian restaurant would serve something so low quality. My tomato slice was was half white and corky in texture. Had to saw it off with the knife but ANY caring employee would never let that make it to a table, let alone the plate. I'll say this: the prices are fair, which is maybe why the quality of food and ingredients are nothing special, but yet stays busy. I guess you get what you pay for though. Like I said, not bad. This place is a family owned one of a kind Italian restaurant. A rare find in the, all too often found chain restaurants. Photos on the wall indicate how long the family has nurtured this business. You are welcomed as soon as you enter and it is obvious that the owners appreciate you being there. Wait staff are friendly and the food is excellent and ample - you won't go home hungry and you, more than likely, will go home with what you couldn't finish. I love this place. The wait staff are exceptional. They are friendly yet professional and they make sure that your experience is perfect l. The food is also very good. The only issue I have ever had was when I was I'll and used their delivery (door dash). I ordered stuffed shells and they truly looked like they had been stomped on. I usually love this place, however the last couple times I have been very disappointed. The final straw for me was when I went in today with a friend. We always get the same order. I get a Stromboli with only green pepper, onion and Italian sausage..extra cheese. In order to do that, I guess they have to take off some stuff from the deluxe one or something and then add more too it. Either way, I only wanted those things in it, and my order us always the same. Last couple times, I've gotten pepperoni in it too, but I haven't complained, just eaten it because that's not a huge deal. However, today I got my food and it had pepperoni and mushrooms in it and I cannot eat mushrooms. So, I got my server, Nicki's attention and told her it wasn't right. She looked at her notepad and told me I didn't order no mushrooms. But I said, only green pepper, onion and sausage. I feel like that insinuates no mushrooms? So, she has them make another and I can hear her say, only the items I wanted. When i get my food again, it has pepperoni too.
