Love this tiny venue and how it has open seating AND a hard 10pm curfew! Get there a little early to secure a good seat in the shade (the seats to the right as you walk in will be shaded as the sun sets). Great sound and not a bad view to be had. Food and drink options were reasonable too. Parking is street only but you can park at Steel Craft and walk over. The venue closing at 10pm ensures you can get back to your car without issue. Blood for Blood was a god tier bucket list band I wanted to see. I had a ticket to the Belasco show but when the GardenAmp announced, I decided to head to OC rather than Los Angeles. I'd never been to the GardenAmp so it was a new adventure. It was completely worth it. Located near downtown Garden Grove, the Garden Amphitheater is a spectacular venue. I was worried about parking seeing other reviews and posts from other visitors. There is in fact, plenty of parking around the venue....just don't get there too late especially on a weekend. Lots of nightlife nearby! After a pat down, you're in! You'll walk in and it's a staggered half bowl. Pictures do not do justice how small this place is. There is zero assigned seating and the listed capacity is 540. There's bars all around and a food booth as well. On the big screen is a QR code where you can order food and they'll text you when it's ready. Security was cool and the sound was excellent. If your seat is in the aisle, people will occasionally get in the way but it's a minor complaint. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Since the venue is basically in a neighborhood there's a strict curfew of 10pm. They do not play about this. The GardenAmp has plenty of great acts come through but after finally getting to see this place in person I'm ready for more. As a matter of fact my biggest complaint is traffic. Getting here from Riverside isn't very fun. But don't let that deter you. The GardenAmp is highly recommended! read more

The Garden Amp was such a fun venue to watch a bunch of 80s new wave cover bands. It's an outdoor amphitheater with open seating and a dance floor to listen to some great music. We came for the new wave, spring fling, which had five tribute bands, including a B-52's cover band, a Smith's/Morrissey cover band, a Depeche Mode cover band, an Erasure and Yaz cover band, and a Duran Duran cover band. They were all super fun and the crowd sang and danced for hours. There were a number of bars to grab drinks plus some of the best chicken tenders I've had in a while. Between the main stage acts, we went to the second stage that was indoors and heard some good punk music. Overall terrific experience. No question we will be back to see more music. read more

I have been wanting to try out the Garden Amp for music. The only bummer was the night I went. They had four bands playing and it said 5 PM so I assumed it probably didn't start right at 5 PM and as I got there at 6 PM the Eagles band already ended and I was super sad so now I know that they definitely start on time. The amphitheater is really cool. It's very small. I think it only seats like 500 people seats are first come first serve. I also learned that when I got there because all the seats were taken the good thing is the parking was pretty simple. I parked right out in the street close to downtown and the musical was great. Super cool venue! I came by myself and I think every seat is a good seat. I sat closer to the back and didn't feel like I was being blocked when people in front of me stood up (and they had big cowboy hats on). First come first serve for seating so get there early if you want to sit! Restrooms were fairly clean. I only went to the one behind the bar near the entrance/exit but there's one near the stage if you're sitting closer to there! Free parking everywhere. There is event parking across the street if you chose to pay for it! I parked a block away on the street by Home Depot + Taco Bell. I absolutely love this venue. I first came here to see infectious grooves last month. This time I came to see Queen Nation. Two totally different experiences but I can say both were great experiences all around. First, parking. If you get there early enough you can find good/safe street parking. Otherwise you can do paid parking in the lot across the street. Getting in is breeze. They "pat" you down, but not really. They make you open your purse, but they're not even looking inside. Security could use some stepping up in this department. Once in, there are a couple bars. A cash bar to your right and food/bar to your left. To the far left you'll find restrooms. There are also another set of restrooms by the stage. To the left of the stage you'll find ladies restroom and to the right of the stage you'll find the men's. There are bars on both sides of the stage as well. Very convenient. Tip: The ladies restroom next to the stage is a lot cleaner than the one next to the food stand. If you would like a seat, try to get there early. Otherwise you'll be standing along the back and sidewalls...or you can stand right in front of the stage. The sound is good. Lights are good. And they have different shows lined up for the next couple months or so. The night we came to see infectious grooves we tried their food. We had their loaded fries and they were absolutely delicious. I also asked for a side of their garlic aioli. It was a very nice touch to the fries. We paired it with two n/a Heinekens and it hit the spot. The night we came to see Queen Nation we didn't order food but we were in the mood for a non alcoholic beer. On this particular night there was no non-alcoholic beer at any of the bars. I love the Garden Amp so much! Such a wonderful, intimate venue to see your favorite bands up close and personal! If your favorite person or band is playing here you have got to come see them! Highly recommend. Sit or stand anywhere and every spot has its own unique view. What a delightful venue! Not a single bad seat in the house because the house is open air and tiny! The music isn't too loud, food, drink and restrooms lines are not long and it's easy in/easy out. You could spend your time looking for free street parking or you could pay to park across the street. As I get older I do appreciate events that started early and end early. Shows here generally will have you home by a decent time. They mostly have cover and tribute bands here but if you're Gen X you may catch smaller bands from your youth here. I was excited to see that Save Ferris & Warren G will be playing shows here. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're interested in local gem. read more

It was very easy to park and enter. They pass out free tickets as you are exiting for the next show. It is a great place to see cover bands. It got cold at night, come prepared. The best is the people watching. There were a lot of wild dancers that were very inebriated. I didn't try any food but I have heard they have delicious fries. read more

Very compact intimate venue. My first time visiting to see Hawaiian singer Anuhea. Parking is very limited so I suggest arriving early. Mainly street parking which is free, but a parking lot is also available for a price. As I arrived about 45 minutes before gate opening to concert, I was able to score a parking space right in front of the venue. Right after I parked it was getting busy. Line to enter the venue was simply quick with security check in. There were food and drinks options available at fairly decent prices. Had no complaints! Concert was great! Was a bit crowded, but no issues and everyone were so friendly. As we exited the venue, we were given free tickets to another concert for Through the Roots. I was so excited because they are a group I've been wanting to see. Here is my chance to see them for free! Looking forward to returning to this amazing venue. read more

I finally made it to the Garden Amp for the first time! Took me long enough! Came here with the kids; they're Cheeseball fanatics, and it seemed like a good opportunity to also check out some local bands and see Hed Pe and Rehab while they're in town. Really glad I did, it warms my heart to see the local music scene on an upward swing - lots of good talent out there putting in the work! Quick props to CarbonWire for being a great band that more folk need to know about, and Blaxmyth for brining a hip sound and high energy! Honestly though, every band there was worthy of being on that stage - good music makes me happy. :) It's a hip venue, not large, but not small, a good size for a decent crowd to get an intimate experience, similar with the second indoor stage area - perfect for a band to get loud and rowdy, get a good pit area going, while not affecting the other stage in any impactful way. The Food: Oh yeah, they have a small food area of front serving tasty options. Burgers, loaded fries (really tasty), etc. You're also right in the Old Town Garden Grove area so if you want to make the walk there's other near by options as well. In all I was really pleased with this venue! They know how to run the place proper, and looking at the other upcoming shows I'm sure I'll be back again soon! :) read more

This was for the Pharcyde show that happened in 2025. This was my first time going to this outdoor venue and I was pleasantly surprised! You can get really close to the stage and it feels like you're outside at some campsite with the surrounding trees. There was a bar in the entrance "lobby" area with 2 more bars on the sides of the stage. You have to walk around the stage to get to the bathrooms where another lounge area is. The sound seems to be loud enough without too much distortion or noticeable issues. Parking was the only I was worried about, as it's mostly street parking for free, but since we got there a little behind schedule we decided to do the paid parking right across for like $10. Pretty diverse set of people, I think it was apparent that some of the older fans brought their kids along to show them that their parents were cool. Moved around a bit as seating is first come first serve, but glad we were able to sit to finish out the show. read more

So many great things to say about this venue. Yes it's a bit on the smaller side but I prefer it this way since it makes your experience more intimate. Ticket prices are more on the affordable side. I came out to enjoy a goth night of some favorite goth , post punk cover bands. Not a bad seat / view in the house! Great sound system. Plenty of space to move, dance, mosh , walk around. The bathrooms and bars are spread out on both sides of the venue, even right next to & behind the stage. They do have a rotating menu for food options, plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your meal. Bartenders / staff were friendly. Security was chill. Only downside to this venue is no parking connected with it. You have to take your chance with street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Look for signs on parking to avoid being towed. Big spacious park outside to walk around before or after the show. read more

I went to see The Blackbird Brothers, a Black Crowes tribute band. They had a great sound and really delivered during their 45 minute set. Rock Stallion opened, with a diverse set of classic rock. Did not stay for Linda Ronstadt, Doors and Petty tributes, so I can't comment on them. Thi this was my first time at this venue and boy was I blown away. It's like a 550 capacity mini arena party. If this venue was better prepped the process would have been more streamlined. For an amphitheater that's been around for a while why are the toilets prison style. This place needs an upgrades. The aisles kept getting crowded and there needs to be more security checking because it's such a danger to everyone. Then there were people sitting on top of one another and that's another safety issue. The security needs to check the area. I still can't believe that in this day and time there's a 3 percent charge for credit cards. I'm not a fan of this venue. I wish they take the time to renovate and fix things. read more

This place has the potential to be a really great venue but there are things that completely soured my experience and make me never want to come back unless they're fixed. 1. Smoking was a massive issue at the show I attended. There wasn't I place I could go that someone wasn't smoking. There's no designated smoking areas, so people were just smoking in their seats. I understand it's an open air venue, but that didn't help. As someone who cannot deal with smoke, I had to leave early. 2. Security was basically non existent. I didn't see a single bag get checked (and I watched multiple people bring in large backpacks) and the most security did was lightly pat people down. 3. I bought food and it was burnt. 4. Not entirely the venue's fault but they advertise "ample street parking" and that isn't fully true unless you get there super early. Otherwise you need to pay for parking across the street or walk a few blocks. The venue itself was nice though. Sound was great and there really isn't a bad seat. I just really wish these things were fixed. read more

Saturday 8/30/2025 was going to possibly be our first visit to Garden Amp and in my typical preparation style, I did a deep dive on the Yelp reviews. Mortified by what I read, I sent them this email to which they never replied: "We *were* considering coming for the Strange Days show on 8/30 - congratulations on booking them because they're amazing - but reading the Yelp reviews, we're noping out. What the heck is up with your security guards molesting customers??? https://www.yelp.com/biz/garden-amphitheatre-garden-grove?osq=Garden+Amp&rr=1 Review after review after review states that security, both male and female, are so literally out of bounds with their "searches", y'all could be risking someone calling the police to report assault. Wanted you to know." However, since we're hardcore supporters of Strange Days, we decided to chance it, and got the tickets for ZepTune, SabbathShow, The Pink Floyd Sound and Strange Days for the nearly free cost of $18 each. We arrived at 3:00 and there were maybe 25 people ahead of us in line, which started moving promptly at 3:30. I'd brought a large tote with chair pads and towels, which, surprisingly, was only given a cursory inspection. Our open purses were similarly given just a quick visual check. Only our backs and waists were lightly patted down. They no longer allow instruments, so I did have to run my tambourine back to my van. Since the searches were reasonable, it looks like they received and acted on my email. We got seats right up front and absolutely roasted in the summer sun. They really need to invest in some sun sails, misters or fans! Even a sail at either end of the stage would mitigate some of the rays. Pro tip #1: a soaked bandanna around the neck really helps with the heat! The drinks were priced typically, which I was already aware of. They're adding 3% surcharge to credit card transactions. One of the four stalls in the ladies room was out of order. We watched three gals whose party got the better if them - one of whom yakked on the ground in the pit. Even though several staff helped her up and out, and my mom watched another staff ignore the barf, nobody came to clean it, so I reported it to the snack bar and the situation was resolved. Note to selves: hard and early party in the sun will bite, bad! Pro tip #2 - buy a $6 bottle of water and refill it in the restroom. Overall - what a gem of a venue!!! The sound was perfect - just loud enough - and the four bands were timed perfectly to hit the 10pm hard stop. All had visuals on the big screen too. Street parking was easy. Hopefully Garden Amp will book another of these festival shows because we enjoyed FIVE hours of exceptional Rock and Roll. Strobe lights were in use, without any posted disclaimer. Strobes can activate seizures in epileptics; I sent them an email to let them know. Overall, we had one of the best times EVER and will definitely return. read more

Garden Amp is an awesome little outdoor concert venue in Garden Grove. With only 530 seats and some standing room, there isn't a bad spot in the place. Every show I have seen here has had a good audio mix, and it's real nice being out in the open air. You can sit in one of the seats, or if a band or artist that you really like is playing, you can stand up front and literally be a few feet from the stage. They mostly have cover bands here but every once in a while known names will play a show here. I have seen John 5 here twice, once with Suicidal Tendencies last Halloween. I just saw Which Ones Pink here last weekend which is the best Pink Floyd cover band out there. The show included lasers, smoke, and a big video screen. There were several opening bands but U2X, a U2 cover band, was on before them and they were outstanding. Did I mention that tickets are super cheap? I paid $80 to see the Australian Pink Floyd at the City National Grove in Anaheim last month, and the tickets for Which Ones Pink, a superior cover band, were a measly $25. When I was walking out, one of the staff members even handed me a free pair of tickets for another multiple cover band show the following weekend. It's a small venue so parking is usually pretty easy to find. They do have a small parking lot, but the last two times I saw a show here I parked on the street less than a block away. There are several bars in the venue and some food items are available as well. read more

Small venue located in Garden Grove that has the perfect options of standing pit area or seats so there's a spot for everyone. I had heard about this venue before but never checked it out until I saw Fishbone was performing here and it was the only stop that was close to me so I decided to buy my tickets and finally check this venue out. It is street parking only but since we came to get food at a place close to the venue we were here a few hours before door opening time so there was no problem finding free street parking. I did see once the doors were closer to opening there was a lot across the street charging for parking. So just get here a little earlier and you shouldn't have a problem finding parking for free. As for the venue I only seen the pictures online so I wasn't sure what to expect but it's a super tiny spot so any place you decide to watch the concert from is a good view. There is a small area in the front that is general admission pit if you want to be up close. There is also standing room areas on the side of the stage. If you prefer to sit which I do there are plenty of seats behind the pit. The close you are you may need to stand as it's not that much raised from the pit. We were maybe 6 rows back and it was perfect if you wanted to sit and watch the show. Of course if someone stands in front of you, you may need to stand but it's a concert so just expect it. That being said it was great vibes all around and it seems like the people who had seat further back all wanted to sit so it wasn't a problem for us. They also have your typical cans of beers and full bar with typical concert prices. I also say they had some food but I didn't get any. Overall this is a great small sized venue. If another band or artist I like came to perform here I would not hesitate to come back. read more

I know security is a serious issue but I hate feeling like I've been molested just trying to get into the show. They must have hired the same people from the observatory. I've visited Garden Amp twice to see tribute bands and had a blast both times. The sound is awesome, and since it's outdoors, it never seems too loud. Since it's general admission, you'll want to arrive when doors open to snatch up good seats. I prefer to sit close to the women's restroom, which is located to your left when facing the stage. Men's restrooms will be to your right. If you arrive late, there is standing room in front of the stage and at the rear of the amphitheater. There are several bars within the venue: a couple at the entrance and a couple by the restrooms. There is also a smoking area behind the stage. Cocktails are about $12 with decent spirit options. The lines can get long, but the cash only bar is always empty, so bring some if you don't want to wait. Bar food is available, but we chose to have dinner in the cute old town area across the street prior to the show. We arrived an hour before doors opened and all of the handicapped parking was already taken, but there were still several close spots available in and around the park. I noticed many people parking in the residential areas as well. Bring a seat cushion for extra comfort and a blanket for the chilly evenings. read more

What a great venue! Nice open space with lots of trees and sunshine! The Garden Amp is tucked away in Garden Grove and while not as big as some of we have been to there is plenty of seating and the stage is huge. The main stage is outdoors and surrounded by large trees with plenty of seating in the sun and shade. There are a few bars throughout the venue where they sell food (tacos, fries, chicken tenders, ect.) and a stocked bar with extensive beer, wine, and drinks. I hear the margarita's were pretty tasty (they have a few specialty drinks). The bartender at the main bar just outside the seating area was great. She was super friendly and even with the large crowd there she was by herself pouring drinks and kept the line moving. There is a smaller indoor location called the Locker Room just behind the main stage area. It is a really cool hole in the wall club vibe to it. There were a few seats and table tops available but mainly standing room only. The venue was packed, music was amazing and had great sound. Odd location but overall a really neat venue. read more
