To finish the job, Gary and Son's was recommended to me by a friend. Of the four bids I got, Gary was the only one that walked the project and gave me some great ideas. As Dara proves, he was in line with the others. Within a month we were adding water to the pool, which had been sitting for nearly a year. The job looks fantastic and his ideas paid off. He's very proud of the company and I'm glad we went with him. The only cons, which are not enough to remove a star from my rating, were these. Once the pool had water and was working, he was done. Other companies give the first 30 days of support with it. I was caught off guard and had to quickly find someone. The only other con was that our communication could have been better. No details needed, he's a nice guy and a trustworthy guy too. He shared the store that he buys tile from, so I could go shop and save some money at the same time. He came to check the work often. When he looked at the old builders work, he went so far as to remove the tile they put in, since it was a bad job. And, the auto fill that was installed too low, he was able to fix it. I definitely think having Gary and Son's was the right call and I can easily recommend them.

The last straw was an invoice for over $700 to do a minor repair. When I pushed back a little bit, I got an email from a VP at the company that basically said I should get the part myself. Our neighbor recommended a smaller company and we are SO much happier. The monthly cost went down by over 10%, our pool looks cleaner, and the minor repair was completed for $200. This company may be good for commercial customers, but there are much better options for homeowners.

I switched and after a year with this new company I can say this is not normal. They overcharged for everything. They destroyed plants breaking branches, lawn - pouring pool water on it (still can't grow back) and when the pump broke they said they'd maintain the water while we waited for repair. They not only didn't maintain it but I had to drain it 3 times in 2 months because they could even get the water balanced from scratch. They were also dishonest on occasion about repair and showing up. Nice people but not acceptable service. I caution anyone from working with these guys. It's expensive and the damage is even more expensive.

We are so pleased w/ the appearance! He also transformed our old landscaping in the backyard to a drought tolerant scape, removing 20 year old hedges & a less than healthy lawn. A rock. scape was put in w/ more desert friendly plants. Our yard not only looks larger but looks beautiful & colorful!! We chose the color of small rocks & plants, picking out the area where they should be placed. Then Steve's crew, did everything that we asked. Our only problem throughout the transformation was that somehow, the tile place ordered the wrong color tile for our pool. Unfortunately, it was installed, but we came from out of town & caught the error in time. Steve was notified, & he immediately had it removed & had the correct tile installed.
