Had I known that was all he was going to do I would have never agreed to pay $1045 for a 7x32 gravelly, lumpy strip. Regardless, I was willing to pay for the work done, but when I pointed out that he lied about the price of materials, disposal fees, and hours worked, he still refused to adjust the price and threatened to take me to collections, so I paid him. He also refused to provide an itemized receipt. Also, he "conveniently" left out tax in the price of the estimate, so if you do decide to use him, make sure you add 10% to whatever price he quotes. Also, this thing he did, if he thought this was truly what I wanted (a non functional gravel strip) I would hope that a professional landscaper would advise me against it. Maybe say, "Hey, if you want to do it right you'll have to terrace this, grade this, etc. and that'll cost this." Instead, he found his mark (me) and found an easy payday. Afterwards I asked him, do you think this looks good? Does that look like a parking spot to you? Would you put your name on this? He pointedly did not answer those questions. Because the answer to all three of those questions is no. If you want more details, like the the screenshot of his work truck leaving at 10am but he telling me he was working until 11am, check out my text conversation with him. I asked them for their insurance and the boss became more agitated and asked me why I was asking them and why I didn't ask before hiring them. I said you told me that you are insured and I usually ask contractors for their insurance before they start work. The whole company seems like a scam operation from my perspective.
