This place was adorable! Great atmosphere, great food, delicious drinks and service! Plenty of parking and outdoor seating.

This was definitely a hidden gem! GPS wasn't reliable, but so glad we found it. One of the very best Bloody Mary's I've ever had with enough garnishes to make a meal! We got a nice little sidecar with our drink and then enjoyed a beer on the beautiful patio. The place was packed with ATV trail riders, but the bartenders did a superb job of keeping up and keeping track. We didn't eat, but the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled de

First visit - Thanks Wisconsin Supper Club Chasers for the referral - our dinner and visit were awesome. Garmisch USA on Lake Namekagon is a charming, beautiful location. Dinner from the scenic dining room was excellent. I enjoyed the "fall off the bone" ribs and she had the brandied current pork cutlets with sauteed spinach, capped off with Garmisch Bread pudding smothered in warm caramel and chopped nuts. Thanks Heidi for the friendly and attentive service

The setting of the restaurant and resort is everything. Right on beautiful Lake Namakagon, what more can you ask for? It truly feels like it's frozen in time. The wood cabin feel is so cozy. I love the small town feel of the entire resort. It's a breath of fresh air for me that there is bad cell service in that area. You get to be fully immersed in the moment if you wish. Wifi is available for those who can't live without. The air is crisp and fresh outside by the water. Service is always great and lively. I love getting to know the servers. Our server, Austin, this past time was actually from Clearwater and had travelled all over the country being a bartender and server. It was fascinating to learn about his life and share good conversation. The food overall is not as good as a big city, I won't lie. But it is very good and there are certain items you MUST try. The escargot surprisingly are phenomenal and 100% worth the price. The steaks are decent. I wouldn't recommend seafood here. Try a potato pancake with apple sauce and sour cream! The chicken and veal schnitzel are superb!!! The sauces are so tasty. The German food is definitely the way to go. I also recommend spaetzle and the kraut. Wine is surprisingly cheap in my opinion, as well. I can't comment on the cocktails. We got key lime pie to celebrate my birthday and it was delightful! Overall, staying at the resort is an experience you must try in your lifetime! We truly recommend the castle. There are so many details in the architecture that are just fascinating. It's huge and can house plenty of guests! We enjoyed the fire pit, as well. It was a bit chilly for most of our typical water sports but we still enjoyed. I'd recommend Garmisch as a restaurant and resort to anyone!

Excellent German cuisine! Right on the lake for breathing views. Reservations required for restaurant, but also serve in the bar.

Raw burger and salty fries that were supposed to be chips.

Felt like a second home!…read more This is the second time I've stayed at Spider Lake Lodge in October and hope to continue the tradition every Fall. Last year and again this year, I basically had the lodge to myself for the majority of my stay. Delise the hostess is a gem, makes fabulous breakfasts and is always incredibly accommodating! I stayed in the Hemingway Room both times and it's perfect, couldn't ask for a nicer experience. I spent a lot of time in the great room in front of the fire in the evenings. For anyone considering a stay here who loves history and likes to read, I'd suggest "Return to Wake Robin" by Marnie O. Mamminga, she and her family spent many summers at the lodge and after spending time here you can understand and appreciate how special this place was to her family. My best friend and his wife own a home just down the hill and around the corner from the lodge. A few years ago I read the book at their home and last year one rainy afternoon sitting in the great room with a fire roaring, reading the book again (the lodge has a signed copy) and it really brought the book to life for me! Don't let the fact that they only serve breakfast deter you from staying, it's always delicious and there are a multitude of dining options within easy distance of the lodge not to mention that I had full access to use the kitchen if I wished. I can't say enough about the experience, I'm already looking forward to next Fall!

We called, left a message, and our call was returned within 15 minutes. Andy answered all of our questions and helped us pick out the right cabin for us. We can't stress this enough. We absolutely loved our cabin (Cabin 1). Two bedrooms, a bath with a shower, and a perfectly working kitchen. On top of a very comfortable living room, the screened in deck that faced the lake was utterly amazing. Big enough for easy chairs, a couch, and a table, the screened in porch brought the cool breeze into the cabin and made for the finest view of Everett Lake that there is. Every single thing was in working order. The fridge kept our drinks cold, the water pressure was solid, there was hot and cold water. (And the water tasted great, by the way.) The charcoal grill was clean. We had all the utensils and plates we needed. The row boat -- provided to our cabin for free -- was in great shape. The fact that we had oars and lifejackets a-plenty hanging right on the side of the cabin meant we didn't have to walk far when we decided to go out on the lake. A small, but wonderful consideration. We stayed over the fourth of July week, and the place was sold out. But you really wouldn't know it. Nothing ever seemed crowed. There were always kayaks to use. Some folks were a bit loud at night, but the "happy / healthy noises of families having fun" isn't a terrible thing. People just naturally quieted down as the night went on. Swimming is awesome. The water is clear and cool. While there are flies, we had no issue with mosquitos. The frogs are amazing. We sat on the deck for hours listening to the chorus of green frogs, loud and funny and magical. Mix that in with the call of the loons, who had a baby this year, and there was no place else we'd rather be. We saw turtles, we saw deer, we saw birds of all kinds. And of course, we saw dogs, because this is one of the rare places that allow folks to bring their dogs with them. The owners have the nicest, calmest dogs around. Large, but not imposing at all. Others brought dogs of all kinds. Some ran around, some stayed on leashes. But people took care of their dogs. We saw no dog waste anywhere, dogs played with each other and our kids. We laughed a lot when two minutes after lighting our charcoal the dogs would come running up for a hot dog of their own. The Monday night picnic, put on by the owners and attended by most of the cabins, was a fun time. We met interesting folks from all around, had a great conversation, and really good brats. Everyone brought some dishes to pass around. While we could have stayed at the cabin all day, we ventured around the area: a beach on Lake Superior just south of Bayfield, Big Bay State Park on Madeline Island, Fred Sheers Lumberjack Show in Hayward. We fished every day, and caught lots of bluegill and crappie. My ten-year-old daughter, who always wanted to catch a fish, did so without much effort and was so happy. My son caught two huge bass. I caught the littlest fish ever. Whether you're fishing from the dock, from the rowboat, or even from the kayak, you're sure to catch something. Lake Everett is small, so bring your big Evindrudes and Mercurys elsewhere. A trolling motor is more than sufficient. A few things to note: Cabin 1 is close to Scenic Road, and while cars are rare, you do hear a bunch of four-wheelers on their way in and out of the trails. They're loud, but not constant. And we didn't hear them after the sun went down. There's no air conditioning in the cabin, but we never once wished there was. The natural breeze off the lake was cool and even on the warmest day, we were comfortable. There's no wireless access or TV in the cabin, but we had no issue with our AT&T phone signal. This really was a great vacation, and though we usually try doing different things, we were so relaxed and had so much fun that we are certain to come back.
