I opted for the 60 min/cupping as I have never done it before so I was real excited. She briefly talked about the procedure and 10-15 mins into the massage she applied the cups with the right amount of suction. It was a little strange but not uncomfortable. She kept those cups on while she worked on my legs and feet. She definitely hit some spots I didn't know I needed. Ultimately I walked outta there feeling great. I noted on the form I wanted a massage on my tummy so my therapist worked on that without being asked or reminded. The place is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. It's not a new bldg or have modern spa-like presence but the place and the sheets feel clean. The AC was not on but they had fans in the room. There is about a 10" gap between the walls to the ceiling so you can hear all the slappin', flappin', and clappin' but otherwise the noise level is fine. This guy is amazing - really I am amazed. I had a bad knee for years.It wasn't painful, but rather it would go out on me - just lose all its strength. I met Dr. Garrett in San Diego and didn't think a chiropractor could help me with my knee issue. Well I was WRONG! Dr. Garrett told me about his work in Kinesiology and Sports Kinesiology. He did some quick muscle testing, applied some gentle pressure and BAM! my knee was better and hasn't gone out on me in 8 months! He goes on to tell me he is not only a Chiropractor and Kinesiologist, but he also holds a Black Belt in martial arts. No wonder this guy knows exactly how the body works and got my knee working so quick. I had no idea a good Chiropractor could help so much. Wow, hard to know where to start... 6 years ago I developed a painful hiatal hernia and nothing doctors did helped so I googled hiatal hernia to find a solution. Going to a chiropractor was recommended - specifically one doing kinesiology. I found Dr. Garrett on line and he saw me the next day! He "fixed" my hernia and every single thing I've seen him for over the past 6 years! Regardless whether you believe in or even understand Kinesiology seems to have no bearing on whether or not it will work for you. All I know is that IT WORKS! Dr. Garrett is a master at this and is truly a compassionate and gifted healer that I feel so fortunate to have found and so do my friends that have gone to him. I have been a patient for several years now, after having a bad accident he helped me feel better. My pain level is much lower now, I get a monthly adjustment to keep the pain level down. If you want a massage he has a very nice lady working for him that can help you unwind from a busy day at work, to bad my insurance only covers once a month but she sure helps me feel better after my visit. I just received a new pair of orthopedic shoes that they ordered for me, they really help me with my posture and walking, I am not crippled but every little bet helps my bad back. I am going to bring my son down to see him, he got hurt at work and is need of chiropractic care. I am sure that he will be able to help him out, since WC is not doing anything about it. Dr. Garrett saved my life. I have been to other Chiropractors before and Dr. Garrett deserves his own class. He exorcised my pain demons with his black belt voodoo magic. Surgeons told me that without surgery I would become paralyzed, but because I had no insurance, Dr Garrett's Downtown Chiropractic set me up on a cash plan that did not break my bank account or my back. My severe pain was a 10 when I started and quickly went down to a 2. The bottom line is the amazing results I got under Dr Garrett's care. Traditional medicine has failed. Dr. Garrett provides a much different experience than I have ever had with other chiropractors I have been treated by. His method includes not only adjustments which traditional chiropractors perform but also a kinesiology approach which attempts to reset the brain to improve overall wellness within the body. Seems a little strange I agree but I have seen overall wellness benefits after being treated by him. If you are looking for the cracks and adjustments you'll get those, but you'll also get a form of treatment you probably have never experienced before. Hard to explain but go and see for yourself. Dr. Garrett is an excellent chiropractor. Last year while visiting my daughter in San Diego I had severe back pain that had begun before i left home. It escalated the next day while I was in San Diego.I panicked and didn't even know how I would get back on a plane to go home. I called his office and was given an appointment for that day. I was involved in an auto accident earlier in the year, went to my primary MD and was prescribed a plethora of mind altering drugs, didn't eliminate my pain but I felt drugged up all the time. When I went to Dr. Porath, he did a body check and told me that I didn't have those problems and sometimes chiropractors would lie to you to get you to pay them a ton of money for their services. I really appreciate how honest he is and how he wants the best for his patients. Dr. Porath then used a massager to massage my back. IT FELT SO GOOD. I was feeling really tight in my joints and after he did my chiropractic adjustment, I literally felt PAIN FREE AND SO GREAT! I come back all the time to get adjustments and feel a HUGE SMILING difference in how I feel. Thank you Dr. Porath!

I rarely give 5 stars but we love this place, even after it changed owners…read more Dr. Sean Kim is awesome. He is very thorough and makes sure you are completely adjusted before leaving. He's been adjusting our 3 and 1 YO as well. My 3 yo loves him and my 1 yo likes him as well - when he's not hungry. He's very attentive and easy to talk to. Would recommend him to anyone who needs a Chiro.

I never want to see another Chiropractor again. I've found my "home" with them. Street parking is ample, but metered for the most part. But an adjustment takes only minutes so 1 quarter will do ya just fine. You are not pressured to buy products from them like in some Chiros offices. They believe in good health but would rather teach you how to achieve it than sell you some herbal product that promises it. If you are looking for a chiropractor and are confused by who to choose amongst all those located in Hillcrest, try out Pure Life Wellness. You'll never have to search for another chiro again.
