Gary showed up at our doorstep a week later to ask for a revision of this review because we had purchased a ladder and confirmed work was done on our roof and our review didn't reflect that and he continued to reach out to me afterwards for this revision. So this is me confirming that I purchased a $160 ladder to confirm work was done because him and his team are too busy to provide an explanation or pictures of what was done and it's not how they do business because they have too many clients and don't have time to do so. Poor follow up. They did inspection and repairs on roof. After first major rain it leaked. Made multiple attempts to get them to come over but I gave up. Unfortunately this team was great to come and do an estimate when purchasing our property and fixing roof repairs. But when it came time to come back when we noticed a leak and hold up their warranty all of a sudden they were busy for months out. I was asked to call every day at 5:30am to see if they had a worker to come out in our area only to not be answered and even when emailed responses took 48 hours unless we were aggressively saying how unfair this was. We were even told to find another roofer. Thing is we have a warranty with them and they can't even say if their repairs were there or not because no one will come out to look. It's extremely a poorly run company and they don't have enough man power to run it. Every time I called I was told to call back in an hour or two. It's just a badly run company. Will never use them again and will be telling our realtor who recommended them to us to no longer use them. read more

The bad reviews are true. No show most of the time, doesn't do the work discussed something as simple as cleaning rain gutters. We had them replace a few shingles on our roof, who knows know if the work was done. Maybe they should take before and after pictures of every job to show clients the work was done. He did a roof inspection for us before we bought our home. He noted the roof was in good condition and need couple of minor repairs with 5 years warranty. Two months later we had a major roof leak during a rain storm. Called them multiple times for assistance and did not hear from them. Five roofing companies have told me our roof is not repairable and needs to be replaced. They all indicated the condition of the roof is not something new and it must have been the same way when Gary Fox inspected it. He either does not know what he's doing or he get kick backs from selling agents not to scare off potential buyers. No matter, stay away from this guy. read more

I recently purchased a property in area susceptible to rain and snow in the city of Crestline that had roof damage and had been repaired by Gary Fox Roofing prior to closing escrow. I was told the issue was fixed and even given receipts showing the repairs that were made by Gary Fox Roofing. But after the first raini, it was obvious via water damage from the cieling under those exact same areas supposedly repaired, that the area was not appropriately fixed. After reaching out to the company, I was repeatedly told that my issue was "high on Gary's radar". I was patient in waiting, but after time passed and being told this repeatedly, noone ever came...not to assess the issue let alone fix it, resulting in a build up of water damage inside my new home when it rained again a week ago. It is obvious that Gary Fox Roofing is just another contractor that goes AWOL once they are paid in full if there are any issues. Beware to anyone thinking about using them and your best bet is to find a different roofer. If anything changes, I will happily update this...but don't hold your breath. read more

After what seemed like hundreds of phone calls and missed appointments and excuses, our roof is still not fixed yet. After calling the previous company, they sent us a quote and unfortunately wouldn't stand behind their own work. Gary--In response to your comment, I understand your perspective and just wish you would respect mine and those of all the customers on here who have also provided negative reviews. This is not personal and based purely on my experience with your company and how everything was handled. Per your statement about ripping out my roof to show the work done, please do not show up at my house or on my property. I will report that accordingly if it happens. I bought a house a couple years ago and the real estate agent recommended this guy. He was supposed to come out and do work but we were home all day and are pretty confident his crew never showed. He billed us over $1,000 nonetheless. I followed up with emails after the fact and he insisted the work was done but had no evidence and was pretty shady about everything. So I gave him a bad review. He then SHOWED UP AT MY DOOR asking me to take down the review. He showed me some pictures on his phone as "evidence" that his team did the work, but I couldn't even tell if the pictures related to my house, and they were probably from his initial consultation if they were even for my house. In any event I felt bad and took down the review. I've kept my eye on his reviews since then and seen many others with nearly identical experiences where they don't think the work was actually done. I've also seen the absurd responses from Mr. Fox where he blames all the customers, who all just happen to be having nearly identical issues. I feel I have to speak up to warnEven if he did do the work, the way he handled it was really not professional, and I have zero confidence that my roof was properly fixed or inspected. My main warning would be to the real estate agents who recommend this guy. We had an otherwise good agent but this was the one blemish on the experience with her. For the agents, it's not worth the reputational harm for whatever slight share of the proceeds you might get from him. GFR please do not approach me again, particularly on my property, or I will go to Yelp about the tactics, which could threaten your ability to even stay on the platform. I think this is a fair review given the circumstances, and as I said it's borne out by the experiences of many others. read more
