This is not personal and based purely on my experience with your company and how everything was handled. Per your statement about ripping out my roof to show the work done, please do not show up at my house or on my property. I will report that accordingly if it happens. I bought a house a couple years ago and the real estate agent recommended this guy. He was supposed to come out and do work but we were home all day and are pretty confident his crew never showed. He billed us over $1,000 nonetheless. I followed up with emails after the fact and he insisted the work was done but had no evidence and was pretty shady about everything. So I gave him a bad review. He then SHOWED UP AT MY DOOR asking me to take down the review. He showed me some pictures on his phone as "evidence" that his team did the work, but I couldn't even tell if the pictures related to my house, and they were probably from his initial consultation if they were even for my house. In any event I felt bad and took down the review. I've kept my eye on his reviews since then and seen many others with nearly identical experiences where they don't think the work was actually done. I've also seen the absurd responses from Mr. Fox where he blames all the customers, who all just happen to be having nearly identical issues. I feel I have to speak up to warnEven if he did do the work, the way he handled it was really not professional, and I have zero confidence that my roof was properly fixed or inspected. My main warning would be to the real estate agents who recommend this guy. We had an otherwise good agent but this was the one blemish on the experience with her. For the agents, it's not worth the reputational harm for whatever slight share of the proceeds you might get from him. GFR please do not approach me again, particularly on my property, or I will go to Yelp about the tactics, which could threaten your ability to even stay on the platform. If you want a company that can't tell you when they will show up and at what time or give you an actual estimate for work and then when they don't you have to ask again and when they tell you its not a true estimate they have to see the size when they already sent an estimator. Then cancel you because they have to reestimate then the next day cancel you completing saying they can't do your repairs at all. If you want excuses that the roofing business has unexpected occurrences and can't give you a date or time or the owner wants to tell you his sob story of how he has small kids but not care if you have frighted animals and can't give you a date or time, when the office told you to call him. I would like a professional company that can give me a date with a time window instead of just showing up on my door step, while I'm in a meeting. I would like a professional company to give me a date they are doing the repairs and the time they will be arriving, not tell me to text them in the morning and they will see. I may be in a different situation than you because I work from home but the owner didn't think that I would hear anyone walking on the roof or hammering nails or anything else that goes with roof repairs. Not a company you can rely on or has your best interests as a customer in mind. Gary Fox Roofing has done negligent work and not fulfilled his obligation to his workmanship with our roof . We have had inside damage to our home from the roof leaking. It did not leak before Gary Fox did repair. Gary Fox will ghost you if you have a problem. I've since filed under the bond and will also be filing against the California state contractors board for not fixing the damage he did to our roof . Gary Fox Roofing has been out to our home three separate times during a three month period to fix a leak and then ghosted us and never came back to try to fix his damage that they did to our roof . Our roof was never fixed and they ghosted us until I filed under his Bond. I tried to work things out with Gary Fox Roofing but after 4 months and a very angry Gary , I decided it was time for some outside help and consult . We filed a damage claim though our HO insurance for work Gary Fox did not stand by . I've given Gary Fox Roofing ample time to try and fix the repair that he created and he does not stand by his work . A 1-star review is generous for this disastrous company. Highly incompetent, in our opinion. One might think GFR would grow tired of getting poor reviews. There is definitely a theme here. After our recent experience, we would advise anybody with a roof problem of any urgency, or not, to AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Upon recently contacting GFR, we were assured by the owner on multiple occasions that he would have our roof leak remedied either "tomorrow" or "in the next day or so" to prevent any further water intrusion. However, when it came to scheduling and completing the work, the owner ended up vanishing for days at a time on multiple occasions, only to invent a number of excuses about how family issues prevented him not only from fixing the leak as promised, but also from giving us a simple courtesy call to let us know he had to cancel. GFR has a bad habit of just not showing up, forgetting who you are and what the job is, and not returning calls. Be careful!! When GFR finally managed to come over to do the work, 3 major storms had already passed through the area. GFR moves at a snail's pace, except of course when it comes to sending an invoice. The owner will constantly tell you how overwhelmed he is, but in the same breath tell you, "I'll be there tomorrow", which never comes. By the time GFR eventually showed up the first time to fix the leak, more interior damage had been done. And yes, we said "the first time" because GFR's 2 attempts for stop the roof leak were completely ineffective. B advised, you can have a 10-minute phone conversation with the owner, hang up, and then call back 5 minutes later to add something, and he's already forgot who you are and what you're talking about. Don't be sucked in by all the warm and fuzzy pics the owner posts Yelp. He's anything but. GFR is bad news. Avoid this company. Incompetent roofer, terrible communicator, unreliable, inept, and will assign ZERO urgency to your roof/water emergency. Do yourself a huge favor and take time to page through the negative reviews. This story would actually be funny if it weren't true. So Gary patched my leaking roof a few months back and charged about 3k. On the first rain, the water comes pouring through onto my brand new carpet. I call Gary who says he will "call me back in 5 minutes". So I call again two days later and he says he didn't call me because he has "thousands of customers". I can only presume he's fixing his shoddy work. On the phone, no apology but tells me to text him and then email him my info (really??) and "his girl" would set up an appt. So I text him and tell him I can't deal with this so my husband will take over. He sends me a "crying meme" video text in response to MY text which would actually be funny if it weren't so stupid (never mind ridiculously unprofessional). BEST! BEST BEST roofing company EVER!! Had a small roof leak and immediately contact Gary Fox Roofing along with many other companies. While everyone else was either unavailable or a few days out to schedule repairs, Gary called promptly and had his guys at our house within a matter of hours. They fixed the leak while it was still raining!! The roof is also extremely pitched and difficult to access but I didn't receive one excuse. Did I mention it was pouring rain and they still took care of it?!! It gets better from there. Most companies will have their workers sit around while you have to scramble to find a check or payment , etc... but not with this company. The employees explained what the issue was, how they fixed it, and then were gone. IT was followed up with a professional email that allowed online payment via credit card and provided a receipt. I recently purchased my home (Sept 2022) and was told by the previous owner that Gary had tuned up our roof right before closing and that his work would be under warranty for 5 years. On Dec 31, 2022 I discovered a roof leak and immediately contacted Gary. Our first conversation was great. He was responsive, seemed sympathetic, told me how to try to prevent the leak from getting worse while we waited for him to come. He also said he would possibly be able to come the next day and made it seem like he'd be able to take care of things promptly. When he didn't show up the next day I reached out just to get an idea when I could expect him. This is when it was also clarified that this would be warranty related work and that this was not a new leak. He then explained that because of the constant rain things were kind of busy and that I would need to be patient. I understood this and waited... And waited... I continued trying to reach out and send emails but the only responses I would get are "This is front and center on Gary's warranty list" but no further clarification on when I could expect to have him come out. It has now been over a month and I still don't have a concrete date for him to work on my roof. Considering my roof received a "tune up" only 4 months prior to the leak I'm not sure I would even trust his work at this point anyway. He certainly doesn't care about honoring his warranty. Gary, Jill and the crew are doing a great job (so far) for repairing my roof after termites tenting. GFR was one of 4 others roofers were providing the repair quotes. The four quotes all came in very close in term of pricing. The job ends up to add 5 -8 extra new titles and GFR honor their original quote. In my experience: Gary Fox is extremely rude, dismissive, unprofessional, argumentative, and verbally abusive (Espeically with women). Gary Fox kept telling me he would come fix his mistake with my continued leaking roof, but never followed through. He kept saying oh I will make it right--I am just a single dad, going through a divorce, etc etc. Excuse after excuse, but he never kept his word. I think people with roofing issues from his phony repairs are better off just going through his bond company so that the bond company can appoint someone to assess/investigate his poor workmanship and then the affected party can subsequently purse a qualified roofer to fix his mistakes (versus having to deal with him). I would be very careful and do your homework before using Gary Fox roofing. We were selling a house and needed some repairs done, He sent his guy 3 different times to fix a leak and NEVER got it repaired correctly. He also gave us and estimate, then said it would be more work than he thought, however he would honor the original estimate. (Then we got the invoice) The invoice was $400 higher!! It's taken me some time to get around to writing this review and while I don't like to leave negative feedback, I cannot recommend Gary Fox Roofing. I was unfortunately referred to this company by a realtor. Due to multiple delays, I was required to close escrow before the work could be completed, which was to include replacing all broken tiles and remedying all 'slipped' tiles. This was referred to as a premium roof tune up. Gary never visited the property and instead, sent two laborers that were here briefly. Following, I was told that tile roofs last up to 80 years and mine was just getting broken in. Something just didn't sit well after the supposed completion of repairs so obtained a 2nd and 3rd opinion. Both stated that the roof was in decent condition but came back with over a dozen photos of cracked and slipped tiles. Apparently, most tiles that were to be replaced by Gary Fox Roofing were glued and many were left untouched. Gluing or using mastic to bond cracked tile is somewhat of a common practice but the fact that I was explicit with my replacement request prior to the work commencing and my willingness to pay extra for the tiles frustrates. Roofing is one of those trades that your average customer will never see the results of, first hand. Unfortunately, this can lead to some incomplete and/or inferior work. read more

Do not use Gary Fox. You'll save stress, time, and money. Gary Fox is disorganized, customer service is contracted and useless, does not help as they cannot schedule the work or give any update. They are disrespectful and does not care about the customers as they are contracted by Gary Fox. Gary Fox only operates via his cell phone, being told by his contracted office that he is the only one to schedule the work, but has a full voicemail box most of the time and does not return the calls anyway. I had a quote from the roof inspection in July and totally lied to me several times since. He rescheduled without notice too many times. Check all other reviews where Gary Fox spends time to argue and respond to unhappy customers like me instead of spending all their energy to call and please their customers directly. They were not honest, charged for the entire work while none of it was done (and with clear evidence provided on pictures), released the invoice for me to pay and then started to lie, came back on the roof the reinstall my old skylight with ducktape and never performed the job to date with no news. I have recorded evidence and seriously thinking of filling a claim. They deserve it. I gave up after being poorly treated over the phone and I strongly recommend you don't waste your time and go with much more professional options out there. I got the job done in 4 weeks elsewhere with great customer care instead. read more

I don't give 5 stars lightly, but Gary is the Man!! I am a Realtor who has used Gary when I want a true evaluation of a roof. He has proved himself again. In a transaction where I am representing the Seller, the buyer had an unscrupulous roofer tell us the composition roof needed replacing immediately because it had faulty tiles. The unscrupulous roofer said roof replacement would be about $20K. We had Gary out. He said, "the roof is in good shape and should last for another 10-15 years." He also said a new roof for the 860 square foot house would run about $12,000, not the $20,000! Quite a difference from the other roofer! Gary also offered to give us a Roof Certification for 5 years. It is so nice to have a roofer who is willing to give an honest evaluation! read more

He prepared a quote very quickly which was sent electronically for ease of signature. I was able to get the work scheduled within two weeks which was fine because there was no rain in the forecast.
