Gary Woo Express has been on list to try forever but we only just made the trip. It's a humble West Boca takeout spot with old-school vibes: red walls, laminated menus, celebrity photos taped to the wall (yes, Adam Sandler), and a couple of tables if you eat in. Not much atmosphere--but that's not the draw. The food is unapologetically American-Chinese, and it nails that nostalgic New York flavor. We had crispy shrimp balls (deep-fried shrimp paste wrapped in noodles--fantastic), roast pork fried rice (great char siu, wok hei, not greasy), and a standout shrimp with lobster sauce (rich, eggy, loaded with ground pork, not watered down). Portions are huge and prices fair--three dishes plus a soda ran just under $50. They also offer a dim sum section on the menu, which we haven't tried yet--but based on what we ate, there's promise. It's not fancy, curated, or modern--but it's the kind of takeout Chinese many of us grew up with and can't seem to find anymore. Eat it there while it's hot. It's worth it.

Decided that since most of the family wasn't home, I could enjoy some good Chinese with my kids. Picked up a container of chicken lo mein, beef and broccoli dinner combo - with house salad and soup, asked about extra crunchies and duck sauce. Well the kid didn't say they charged for that, in the past they have not, he just gave me back less change than I expected. The soup was the best part as usual, very flavorful. The house salad came with a yellow water that had no flavor and was all stems. The lo mein was very hot and fresh, but was lacking in flavor, the beef and broccoli had the same problem, looked great tasted like it was missing every seasoning it was supposed to have. They no longer have any coupons except the 10% for cash discount.

I don't know how this place doesn't have better reviews. I used to come here years ago, but moved away for a while and now that I've moved back, I feel like they have even improved. the food is even better than i remember. The people that work there are so extremely kind and friendly. I did find it a little pricey, but not willing to remove a star for the cost since everything is expensive these days. The crunchy tuna roll was mind blowing.

This is the only Chinese place I will eat at since moving to Boca. Their crunch rolls is tops, they're fast and generous. Don't miss out!

Great NY style Chinese food. Take out, but there is a small area to eat in. Food is good and service is quick. Love it

Ordered the cucumber salad which was delicious but quite spicy for my taste. Wonton soup was perfectly hot and a great portion. Wontons were so yummy I wish there was more in the soup. To finish we shared the chocolate dumplings. My friend LOVES them from here! Warning the chocolate is HOT and OOZES! I wouldn't bite into this unless you want to burn your mouth potentially. Definitely open with a spoon first lol. 5 come and it was quite good! Cute spot and I would come back to try a big entree!

Genuinely one of the worst spots I've ever eaten at. 0/10 I do not recommend this place at all…read more The food was terrible and flavorless. For whatever reason the food was also sat in my stomach terribly I felt so sick from this place. My server was nice but the manager was not, he came asked me what was wrong and just took the food away and took it off the check no apology nothing. The place itself is fancy but never again The fried rice tasted like butter and chicken was literally looks and tastes flavorless when we were told it's marinated in some sort of sesame sauce The wagyu dumplings are not wagyu, it tastes like frozen hamburger meat The chicken dumplings were alright but the wrapping on them was so thick and heavy The Singapore noodles were supposed to be made with a curry sauce, these noodles were dry and tasted like I was eating indian biryani in a noodle version
