I bought my bike there 4-5 years ago. Today I popped out of gear and the chain was stuck. They looked at it, put it on the rack, then 10 minutes later was good as new. NO CHARGE! Buy your bikes here and you have friends for life! read more

I went to a lot of shops. I was achin for a new bike and went all around town before wondering into Gary's. Here I found my bike. Gary was helpful, and wasn't pushy. Most refreshing, there is no attitude here (looking at you cycle smitty), just people with a deep appreciation for cycling. Well, the employees and owners of this shop seem like nice enough people depending on the color of your skin. I am a person of color. The first time I came into this shop I met Rich, the owner. Brought my bike in for service. Rich had never seen me before, as I reiterate it was my first time in the shop. My bike had this store's sticker on it which told Rich that it was originally purchased from his shop. Rich nastily accused me of stealing the bike and threatened to call the Cops on me. Actually the bike was given to me by my next door neighbor who obviously bought the bike from the shop. Rich immediately made me out to be a thief. What a great shop! I have purchased two bikes here, and let me tell you, this is one of the most honest bike shops I've seen yet. The guy who's there most of the time, Rich, will literally tell you exactly what kind of bike you need - in fact, he usually tells me what I *don't* need to buy. I've taken three friends there to get their bikes, too. Oh, and I stopped back into his shop after about a year's absence, and while he couldn't remember my name, he knew the EXACT make and model of the bike he sold me - all the way down to its color. I live around the corner from Gary's and frequently come here to fill up my tires. Whenever I come in, I'm greeted politely so i'm not sure what anyone who says otherwise is talking about. Anytime I needed any parts or fixes I got a no nonsense sale and exactly what I needed. Anything other than basic parts would most likely need to be ordered. The guy inside has frequently given me advice and let me use a tool if I needed it or just did a minor adjustment all without charge. I have tried a few bike shops since moving to the area a few years ago but Gary's has become my favorite.

Currently in the process of purchasing a bike here. It's a small shop that's overfilled with bikes but I enjoyed the atmosphere of it. The owner is a really awesome guy that's very knowledgeable about the stuff he sells and will help walk you through the process of buying a bike. He doesn't rush you into anything and simply helps you make a decision on what to do. Every time I've been there, I was the only customer so he was able to help me out a lot. This might change when the weather gets better though, but I enjoyed my time here. You just get the feeling he'll help you with anything you need for your bike, and thats why i chose to purchase mines here. read more

I got a flat and was far from home. Gary's Cycle Shop was the closest shop around and I'm very glad it way! I had no money on me and they were happy to repair my tire and allowed me to send a check. I went to Gary's bike shop today to buy a Schwinn cruiser and the first bike of my adult life. I had done research online to determine the style I wanted and Gary talked me through the type of bike I would need - we ended up at the same conclusion and the Cream 3-speed I purchased fit the bill. Gary sold me the bike for $40 under the schwinnbikes.com msrp - AWESOME! I also purchased a front basket (which they installed for free) and a bike lock. Best bike shop experience ever. The gentleman who helped me was up front, honest and did not treat me like an imbecile for not knowing everything about my mid-seventies Schwinn. Even though the repairs did take a full week, it was worth it. I got a new rear tire, handlebar tape, my brakes and cassette checked out all for $80! Amazing. Three things I appreciated about this store: they helped me get a wheel for my bike and did not try to upsell me. They even took the order over the phone, so I did not have to stop in. When I brought in my bike to have them assemble the wheel and get the gears going properly, they added a nominal charge over the cost of the wheel. I was prepared to spend twice or three times what they charged me. Third, the place is so crowded with bikes that you can hardly move, which tells me they are doing a solid business and are well-supported by the community. I like to shop local and am glad I can do so at such a nice shop. read more

I have been in here twice with very minor bike problems, and both times, the owner just did a quick fix on the house. Of course, both 'fixes' also took under 30 seconds -- just a loose/missing screw -- but what a nice dude! (I should note I am a lady and didn't get gruff treatment as someone else described below, and I do. not. tolerate sexist BS.) Will definitely be back when I need a tune up and all that. I really like this place. I had to have my bike chain replaced and Rich took very good care of me and my bike. In the midst of a busy Spring market my bike was ready in less than 2 days. It rides beautifully and the tires were filled without my having to ask. Checkout was quick and easy and I was on my way. I honestly felt that the main concern of the owners was to take good care of me quickly and efficiently so I could get back on the road where I most love to be. This is THE place to get your bike fixed. I left mine outside over the winter, which completely rusted everything. They replaced the chain and a few other things within in a week of dropping it off. Super friendly, super good prices, helpful, and genuine. The owners are more than willing to answer questions and explain anything you would need to know about your bike. I took my bike there last week since it was a nice weather and wanted a headlight and upgrade on my seat. The guys talked me out of getting a seat that was nice looking but they told me that another one is more comfy. They were right because my friend got the first one from another place and he keeps complaining that its uncomfortable. They talked me out of buying a more expensive seat but won a fan! So go get your gear at Gary's! read more

My boyfriend decided to get a new bike yesterday, and we happened upon this shop as we were driving home after an unsuccessful search at other shops. We caught them right as they were ready to close, but they happily stayed open for us. They were so helpful, had a nice selection at reasonable prices, were honest, and they weren't pushy at all. Best of all-there is zero attitude in this little shop. Neither my boyfriend nor I have ridden bikes since we were about 10, so I was a bit nervous about walking into a shop and being completely at their mercy. No need to worry about that at Gary's, though! We ended up getting a new Schwinn, lights for two bikes, a pump, and a bike rack for the car-all for what we probably would have paid for just the bike at any other shop. He even helped us put the bike rack on our car. I would very highly recommend going here for a bike purchase or repair. read more
