After slight confrontational phone call with this guy Gary I reluctantly still had him come to our home for an estimate on some gates and iron work, only because his work looked very nice however the guy is the rudest SOB I've ever met as a business owner, after 5 mins of talking about ideas of what I wanted I realized I was getting nowhere with anything we wanted as far as what we were looking for and came to the fast conclusion that this guy was going to be absolutely miserable deal to and actually had to tell him to Ieave my home, the guy is a joke and any positive reviews on here for him are probably fake. Skip Doing Business with Gary's Gates I attempted to call Gary over a period of four days, only to find that his voice mailbox was full each time I called, and I was unable to leave a voice message as a potential client seeking information regarding his services. A bit frustrating, as it made me wonder if he ever checked his voicemails. On Wednesday August 11, 2021, I decided to text Gary. He returned my text via phone call the same day. What I thought was going to be a good working relationship due to our phone conversation ended up going out into left field. Gary told me during our Wednesday telephone conversation that he would stop by my home on Friday, August 13, 2021. On Thursday morning August 12, 2021, he texted me at 5:00am with a photo of a gate. His text woke up my entire family which meant we were up for the day and the household was not happy. Unprofessional and inconsiderate at best to text someone that early in the morning (he is local). I texted him back and told him not to text me at that hour of the day. I received no response. No apology, no nothing. On Friday August 13, 2021, 3:00pm rolled around and I had not seen or heard from Gary, so I called him twice because I had taken the back end of the day off from work to accommodate his visit. Gary texted me back at 3:39pm stating that he would have to reschedule. Not cool to leave a potential client hanging all day without contact and then bailing on them. I texted him back and asked him to please let me know ASAP when he could come back. I work full time and would need to arrange more time off. The following Monday, August 16, 2021, I received a text from Gary with more gate photos, but no indication when he would be able to come by. I responded asking him again when he could come by to show me the composite samples in person. I heard nothing back. I texted him again on Wednesday August 18, 2021, asking him if he could swing by that week or even Saturday if possible. He proceeded to text me back telling me he's 12-14 weeks out on installs. I told him I was okay with that and that I just wanted him to swing by to see my project and give me an estimate. I heard nothing back from him and texted him again later that Wednesday asking him point blank if he could come by and provide me with a professional visit and proposal. He texted me back Thursday, August 19, 2021, and told me that he lost a welder and was not picking up anymore work at this time. I thanked him via text for wasting over one week of my time and for his lack of communication and lack of professionalism. He had the audacity to text me back on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 4:37am telling me to have a great day. A sarcastic, malicious and intentional gesture on his part. Great looking gate at a reasonable price with no surprises. Gary's measurements were right on the mark. I thought the quality of the materials (metal, cedar) that went into the gate were really good. He even left me with some touch-up paint for the metal, in case I ever need it -- cool! Gary does a whole lot of gates -- probably because he's so good -- so don't be alarmed if you have to remind him who you are when you call, or wait a little bit for a quote or an install. His prices were reasonable so I text him and provided the job location. He responded!!!! We set up a time around my schedule. He came out we added a few extras and we agreed upon a price. We both agreed to an install date (he was ready early). He completed the install in just a little over 2 hours. He hauled the old gates away.
