Albert was there most of the time to supervise and make sure everything was done to standard, which I appreciated. Everything looks fantastic. The work really exceeded my expectations. Anyway, I came home last Wednesday afternoon to a big hole in my block fence due to an unidentified vehicle that lost control on the wet road. I talked to several contractors and learned that my block size (4x10x16) was discontinued a few years ago and nobody had any, not even suppliers. I was faced with replacing the panel with 4x8x16 block that would not exactly match the rest of the fence. I could live with that and requested quotes. Then Rod called me back and said he had some 4x10x16 block. I texted him a photo and he replied that he had enough block to add to my undamaged blocks to restore the wall. He gave me a price that was in between the prices I was getting for the smaller block. I gave him the job and he scheduled me for today, Thursday, which was fine because other contractors were telling me at least two weeks. Rod and his crew showed up at 5AM (to beat the heat) and were done before 10AM. They did a quality job and I would certainly call upon him for future masonry work.

I had a block pilaster that was falling over, making it impossible to close my gate. From the moment I reached out, they were incredibly responsive--replying to my inquiry right away. I was given a fair and transparent quote, along with a clear explanation of the work that would be done. They scheduled the job immediately and showed up right on time. The old pilaster was carefully taken down and replaced with a new one, complete with fresh rebar and cement to ensure stability. They even returned the next day to paint and reinstall the gate latch. Before finding Rock Solid, I actually hired another concrete contractor because their quote was a little cheaper and they had decent reviews. Unfortunately, that decision ended up costing me time and frustration. The contractor never came out to look at the site beforehand and relied only on a photo I sent. When the slab was poured, it ended up several inches out of square and badly sloped, which made it completely unusable for placing a shed on top of it. Thankfully I was able to get my money back and have it removed, but the whole experience reinforced something many homeowners learn the hard way: the cheapest quote is rarely the best value. That's when I reached out to Charlie at Rock Solid Concrete, and the difference was obvious right away. Charlie came out in person to survey the site, explain the grading and prep work needed, and walk me through exactly how they would make sure the slab was square, level, and reinforced with rebar since it would support a structure. On the day of the project, Charlie was involved from start to finish. He checked measurements, supervised the crew, and sent photos and updates throughout the process so I could see each stage -- from forming and rebar placement to the final finish. The professionalism stood out. The crew respected the property, kept the area clean, and worked efficiently. Once everything cured, I checked the slab with a level and it is perfectly square and perfectly level, exactly what you want when placing a shed or structure on top. Charlie clearly takes pride in his work and treats every job as if it were on his own property. Rock Solid's quote wasn't the cheapest one I received, but after seeing the result I can confidently say it was worth every penny for the quality and peace of mind. I'll absolutely recommend Rock Solid Concrete and Charlie to anyone needing concrete work, and if I ever have another concrete project, he'll be the first person I call.
