Mixed experience. Friendly waitstaff seated us quickly and got our drink order. Pointed out to our waitress that there was a big sticky spot that the drink menu actually had to be pried loose from. She said she would be back to wipe it down. We placed our order. (It never got wiped down but the table was big enough we just let the drink menu stick in its spot) I ordered the spicy fried pickle spears to start. They came out quickly but were a 3 on a 10 scale. There were 8 small spears - not one was more than half coated. As a result there was a lot of grease coating the pickle. Flavor was ok but not worth the money or calories. My wife ordered the Special burger. She loved it ! It was a chorizo patty topped with Poblano sauce and other goodies. It had great flavor. Tots as a side were hot, crunchy & not at all greasy. Caesar salad was mediocre - lettuce was crisp and fresh but the Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing lacked flavor. Net - only ok. read more

First time at Gaslight was move-in day for Miami U. On a Friday night we were told the wait would be 45 minutes and it was only 30. When we were seated, our server (Ashlyn) told us the cooking times might be longer than typical due to the crowd. We received our food in a timely fashion. The food was great - BBQ burger, Beer cheese pretzel burger, cheeseburger and Buffalo chicken wrap. We'll go again next time in Oxford. read more

Gave this place 4 visits prior to review. Food always tastes good but the service is just awful for their higher menu prices. I guess that's to be expected from college students. If you don't mind bad service but good tasting food, you'll probably love it here. Think we are taking this place off our list though for the experience you get for the price. read more

Went on a carry out thing because that is all we can do. The service was very friendly. Ordered on the phone because the online order was too slow and just was not right. The food was really good. My pizza was true to the description of home made dough. It was very good. I had the meat feast. Loved the meat balls on it. The brussels sprouts were really really good. My wife ordered the chicken wrap minus the buffalo sauce. When we got to the park to eat oh no they had the hot buffalo sauce on it. So we called and I said what the deal was. Boys night out. Me and my sons came on Friday night. Kind of crowded but got seated faster than the estimated time. I had a craving for a burger so that's why we came here. We knew they had burgers and something g my younger son would eat. Turns out I was the "Guest of Honor"! It was great. They brought me my food and said it was on the house. No photos to go on the wall no embarrassing song just a random free meal. Me and my oldest son got burgers they were well cooked and my Frisco burger tasted great. I got the house chips which were seasoned a little spicy they were fine but I didn't love them. My younger son got the chicken tenders. They looked really good, white meat with a nice batter, he thought they tasted great. It can get a little loud when crowded and all the TV's can be distracting. ordered online through a 3rd party, the 3rd party got in contact with gaslight to let them know they missed a full meal from our order. gas light told the driver that they refused to make the meal they forgot from our order. Gas light then told our driver they would remake the food but it would take 30 minutes to make a single burger meal. After finally getting our food, we found a bone shard in one of our burgers (seen below). sadly this isn't my first bad experience here, a few months earlier I took my girlfriend there where a waiter made us so uncomfortable we got our drinks, paid, and left and went to a different restaurant for dinner. I've had some average and some bad experiences here. Their burger of the month special is interesting and I tried one of those once - it was good and their Buffalo chicken dip is also good (But just good). But I've also had some lackluster flavorless things here before. Not to mention I've heard of friends of friends receiving raw uncooked chicken and meat here. There are definitely better places to get food in Oxford. read more

We used to really love this place but it has started to go downhill. It seems like every time come, the wait to get our food is very long and then the food comes out cold. It happened again tonight! The servers were great, but the app we ordered didn't come out before the rest of the food. The pizza was cold and mac n cheese were cold while the rest of the food was lukewarm at best. All the kitchen did was "heat up" the food which dried it out. The ribs were super dry and hardly had any sauce on them. I am very highly disappointed and may not come back. We don't have a ton of places around here that isn't downtown so that's the big draw for us here. Please fix this issue!! read more

Up here on a Hockey trip. Literally like 8 customers in the whole place. Sat at our table for over 15 minutes with no service. Had to get up and ask hostess about getting service!! There were Literally more employees here than customers. Will not be going back. Its just blows my mind on how you can not get service when we are a group of 4 and the table next to us was a group of 2. 6 patrons total and even the group of 2 had a hard time getting service. I went here on the spur of the moment to grab some lunch before doing some day drinking. The food was awful. The service was subpar and they were not even busy to try and make an excuse for it. They were out of the fried pickles, which was very disappointing. I ordered the chicken tenders because the menu was slightly weird just consisting of random things. The breading on the chicken tenders would just fall off when I broke them and the chicken itself was very greasy but dry and tough to eat. The house chips were good but had way too much seasoning on them. I kept trying to shake and tap if off but there was no budging with them. My friend and I ended up just giving up on the food and we ended up going elsewhere to get better food after we paid the bill and left. Everyone was wearing a mask which was nice to see. And they had their silverware wrapped up in plastic bags so that was also something I liked to see. I would not recommend. read more

This restaurant is a poor addition to the Oxford eats scene. The service was good when my large family of six went there, but the food was awful. Undercooked pretzels and beer cheese. Bland sandwiches with unseasoned, flavorless meat. Lame salads with clearly frozen meats upon them. Avoid this place if you're in town. It kind of sucks and I can't imagine it getting better when literally every kind of menu item is gross. read more

location doesn't look like much in a small plaza but i highly recommend as a foodie and a bartender. the craft beer selection is great, and the mixed cocktails are really good. food is delicious, they do burger Thursdays, and happy hour prices. the staff is extremely nice and very personable. personally highly impressed !! we'll be back more then we already have!!! read more

The service was disappointing and the food mostly lackluster. Our server delivered our food without a word; did not check on us during our meal; delivered our checks without a word; when she picked up the checks, her only words were to ask if both checks were going to the one card; and returned the credit card and receipt to sign without saying a word. I ordered chicken piccata, which I don't recommend. Some pieces of chicken were fairly good and many were too hard/crunchy. There were only 4 capers. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. The entree was supposed to come with steamed broccoli. Unfortunately, it was 100% raw. My son's ribeye was appropriately cooked. It was fattier than he liked but I think that is just how it goes with a ribeye. Another person in our party ordered a sirloin, cooked medium. However, it arrived well done. Another person ordered the Bayou Pasta And didn't care much for it. Maybe this was an off day but if it wasn't, I can only suggest you pick another place for your meal. read more

I ordered Black and Blue, wife had Turkey Club. I had sweet tea, wife water. The tea was so weak, I ask to return and take off bill. Waitress was great, replied their tea was awful and had not put it on bill (weather she had or not, it was a good response) We got food and the salad, after mixed up salad it was so salty. I expect the steak Cajun Style would be salty, but even without the bacon mixed in and 2 things, of watered down Ranch.. I left 1/2 of it. Wife said salty, without me saying so first. Wife gave me a two-bite piece of sandwich. It was so salty,... I tried to figure it out...either it was salted under the cheese of the cheese was salty. The salsa with the sandwich chips was very weak. Not like most other restaurants, with flavor. I never said anything to waitress..she great, 20% tip. Just thought I'd share my experience. read more

For Oxford, this place is fantastic. But in my overall experience it's fine. By far the best pretzel & beer cheese I've ever had. The burgers are good as well. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and will definitely be back! There's a nice patio space when the weather gets nice and inside they have a great space to hang or watch a game. The booths have individual TVs which is a fantastic idea! More places need to start doing this! Everyone was happy with their food. I brought my son and 5 of his friends here for dinner the other night, they are all students at Miami. We ordered 2 appetizers and 7 entrees We were seated at 7pm and didn't get our food AND appetizers at the same time which was 8:10pm!!!!!! I had spoken to the manager about 7:50 after the waitress kept telling us "food is almost up".......the manager didn't care at all. I will never go back!!!! Just ordered takeout since the wait for a table was over an hour. No big deal. Picked up our order and one of the items was missing. Called to speak with the manager within 5 minutes of picking up the order so we could come back to get the missing item. The manager argued with us saying the item was there because he packed the order himself. He must have put it with another order because we did not get the item. Manager went back and forth arguing with us for several minutes. He then agreed to give us the item we ordered and paid for and then promptly hung up on us. Very unprofessional. We used to love going to Gaslight. This is likely our last visit. Such a shame. read more

I'm not too sure nothing has changed after reading all these comments. I wish I would have sent them before coming here. When my bf and I arrived there was only one table sat with a group of people who looked like they had already been eating which excited us because we figured there would be no wait. Wrong! The waitress took our order quickly but didn't see her until our food came out which took almost 30 minutes. She sat chit chatting the whole time with the other workers and I think she must of forgotten about our food because when she got it, it was cold! I got the chicken piccata and it literally looked like cat vomit. It was cold squishy chicken in butter saucy, no trace of lemon anywhere. My boyfriend said his burger was ok but his fries were squishy and cold. Not once did the server fill his water cup up and when he asked for ketchup she started walking back and talking with the employees and then started mopping. We had to again ask for ketchup which she finally brought and then didn't see her until she brought us our check. The service here was so slow and just so embarrassing for such a nice looking place. If you want your business to stay afloat, either train your servers and cooks or get better ones. I give the food and service a one star. Ordered the bang bang shrimp as my entree rather than an appetizer. After eating two, I thought the texture was off so I peeled the breading off to discover that the shrimp was still grey because is was undercooked.
