Avoid This Property Management Company - Dishonest and Aggressive…read moreI would strongly advise against renting from this property management company. Our experience was incredibly frustrating and ultimately felt like we were being taken advantage of. We were charged $250 for a pipe repair without ever being contacted, consulted, or quoted for the work. When we tried to schedule a meeting to discuss the charge, they refused to meet, ignored our calls, and eventually threatened us with eviction unless we paid. We were forced to pay for something we had no opportunity to approve or dispute. When we moved out, we gave more than 30 days' notice, professionally cleaned the carpets and the home, and even touched up the walls. Despite this, they withheld $2,100 of our security deposit. Their breakdown included: * $300 for drywall repair (not previously mentioned or shown to us) * $1,100 for painting the entire house (even though we left it in great condition) * A charge to replace a lightbulb they falsely claimed was out * $260 for cleaning (even though we had the home professionally cleaned) Throughout the process, this company was unresponsive, evasive, and became aggressive when we questioned the charges. It was clear they had no intention of communicating fairly or ethically. They do not treat tenants with respect and seem to rely on intimidation and avoidance to force compliance. This company took advantage of us and treated us dishonestly. Renters, beware--they will take your money and ignore your concerns.

Northwest Reno

Heidi Simonsen is amazing here!…read more I bought my second home, after flipping my first in North Carolina, when I moved back from law school. Heidi also sold my brother his house. She know the areas, condo bylaws and mortgage requirements. When buying a condo to get financing, it has to be 50% owner lived in. She goes beyond a regular agent. Having gotten my brokers licenses in North Carolina, when I purchased my first home, I know when agents skip out on things. She checks all the boxes and doesn't rush the transaction, while finding tricky ways to work the market. The condo market in Reno right now is insane. I put in 4 offers on 4 different condos, standard financing, full price, and sadly lost to all cash offers with week long closing and no home inspection. Heidi suggested putting in a full cash offer then refinancing once the deal closed! Wonderful idea and I got a lovely condo in my price range with a low hoa at $130.00 and refinanced at 3.75%. Closed in 2 weeks with a home inspection and of course I opted for an appraisal. She got me the home inspection for 200 bucks and the appraisal for 300. And even got 500 for repairs, and fixed the firewall issue that the cable company popped a hole in when wiring. It appraised above the sales price, and I had no issues refinancing. During the transaction I was able to drop off the earnest monies check (should be around 1k for the area) and the due diligence check, roughly 500 for the area) at the office in their secure box after hours. I was very happy with her services, she met me at the home inspection as well, which most agents skip on.

Denise has a unique ability to filter through the available listings, send properties for review that specifically meet your wish list, and are always in your price range. I've never met an agent that responds to every question within 24 hours, and I can add that she did this for over a year, as our plans were long ranged. Denise is also an expert at the Reno/Sparks area, knows all about the infrastructure changes that are coming, the plus and minuses of the current areas, the true home values, and is highly connected with outside resources that need to be attended to when evaluating homes. And did I say she's very nice and easy to work with? Call Denise today - you won't be disappointed!

Walking to ball games, the Art Museum, seeing a show, strolling along the Truckee River's River Walk, or exploring a host of interesting restaurants and bars, I have found life in downtown Reno much better than I earlier knew or imagined. And perhaps you don't want to get caught up in the busyness of the suburban explosion. Moving from California several years ago, I have found The Montage condominiums in downtown Reno one of my best moves ever. For many reasons, I assess The Montage to be the best current offering for downtown condo living in Reno. After checking the competitors, choosing The Montage was an easy choice, so much so that after several years I bought another second, larger unit. While it is an inappropriate location for children, there is a great mix between the 21-40 age group and the 55+. Best of all, I have found my neighbors to be about the most friendly I've encountered, and that most definitely includes the very capable staff. The HOA and Management also maintains a very nice social schedule with speakers and different events. The facility is very dog-friendly though I have never experienced noise problems with that. As a builder-lawsuit has restricted bank-financed purchases up to now, this hopefully will be resolved soon and the prices could spike. Beyond the many amenities, the building is kept spotless and up-to-date by a very competent maintenance staff while security guards and front desk staff monitor activities 24/7. In addition to a large swimming pool and two hot tubs open all year long, the sunny 6th floor pool deck is beautifully landscaped and also includes a full clubhouse and shade cabanas, and five gas grills. There is a large fitness center, meeting room, and business center/television/library. There is also generous on-site storage as well as separate bike storage. Subterranean gated parking protects your vehicle from any cold or heat extremes. This is fun, luxurious, turnkey downtown living that I am so pleased to have discovered!
