    Caesar salad with blackened shrimp
    Taylor H.

Very ok. I like the casual vibe and they have a nice patio. All the staff seem to be nice. I ordered the Caesar salad with blackened shrimp. If you typically don't like a lot of dressing this isn't the salad for you. The dressing is creamy and a little too much for me. I prefer to taste more lettuce than dressing, but still a good flavor. You might not see the shrimp, but they have a decent amount, I just chopped them up before the photo. I also really enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc. I did a taste of the Sauvignon and the Pinot Grigio and the Sauvignon won for me. Crisp and light. I wasn't able to capture the actual name of the wine before they took the menu. I came in for a quick lunch that was close to the airport. Mission accomplished.

Cute spot right by the entrance of the Navy Yard, there's indoor and outdoor seating. Food was good, especially the fried chicken sandwich and the fried avocado burger except for the fries. The texture was great but they were super salty and I couldn't finish it. I also got the fried cod tacos but they were ok. The fried fished lacked in flavor but everything else was fine. We did take out since we got there too late to dine in but food came out quick.

Came in for a quick lunch with some colleagues! Plenty of seating both indoors and out! Unfortunately parking is very limited and can definitely be a challenge on busier days. Quick tip - if you are coming with others try and carpool! Staff was incredibly friendly and very accommodating even for our large group. Even when it came time for the bill we were able to pay individually as a party of 7! Food here is awesome! I would highly recommend the spicy tuna nachos or any of the burgers! The only meal that has disappointed me here were the fish tacos. Also, they do half priced burgers on Mondays what a deal! ***SECRET TIP*** If going to a Phillies game (on a monday) find street parking close to the restaurant by the Courtyard Marriott. Then, walk over to the gatehouse for happy hour, a half priced burger, and 20% off by showing your Phillies tickets! Finally, walk over to the ball park (10min of walking) and enjoy the game!

Definitely a good find with a lovely view of the Navy Yard! Went here for a dinner on a roadtrip with my sister and was so happy with our choice. We went at around 5:30 on Monday so we were able to take advantage of their amazing happy hour and burger deal. On Mondays all burgers are half off and you should definitely take advantage of this. I tried the black and blue burger and it was flavorful and juicy. I would have liked some lettuce and tomato but should have added this myself. Staff was friendly and accommodating, as this was my first time in Philadelphia and I was surprised by the level of hospitality. All in all if you are in the area definitely checkout Gatehouse!

Our group of 6 went to the Gatehouse before a concert at the Wells Fargo Center, parked in WFC, walked here, easy in and out. It was a Saturday night, and we made a reservation, I expected it to be busy with all the concerts going on was pleasantly surprised to get seated immediately (early), quick service, good food, and a decent price, for a city restaurant. Food was good, all except the shrimp Poboy, which had four medium shrimp, and they were cooked to be hard as a rock. Not what I expected for a poboy, disappointed. I broke my own rule by trying poboys outside of the New Orleans area. Rosemary chips were decent, crispy, but the rosemary is overwhelming anything around the chip. But, other than that, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Brussels Sprouts, Wings, all good, service was spot on, would go back and try other options (not a PoBoy), as the place was nice, convenient, and worked for us.

Love this place! From its accommodating staff to quick and experienced servers, we always have a great time. Their HH specials are unreal and their food menu is great for a casual bite. Our server Chris was great especially on a busy evening before Eagles home kickoff. I love the inside and outside tables - both have plenty of TVs and space to enjoy a casual meal with family and friends.

Different Cheesesteak #1144. Special day of drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. I want to love Gatehouse. - sidebar - not good enough for single name - I love the new vibe at the Navy Yard. The Gatehouse has all of the amenities. 2nd meal here and second time disappointed. $16???? The Gatehouse, please do better.

This was a fun stop very close to our hotel. There is inside and outside seating as well as upstairs seating with live music outside. Very cool environment and fun to people watch. It is very laid back and seems to be popular. Our server, Denny was excellent! He was funny, made some great recommendations and ensured that we had everything that we needed. The food was interesting. It is more of a hang out instead of upscale. Wings, burgers, and bites. Everything was good. The avocado burger was delicious. I opted for lettuce instead of a bun and was pleasantly surprised to receive butter lettuce. My coworker ordered the wings and she said they were good. We shared fried cheese which of course was delicious. Happy we stopped in.

We stopped at gatehouse prior to a concert at the Wells Fargo center and were very pleased with our choice. Food: my wife and I both got burgers and my brother in law got the cod sandwich (not pictured). We all really enjoyed our sandwiches. The black and blue had a lot of blue cheese and had perfectly cooked bacon. The fries were also crispy and well salted. Service: our server was very attentive and brought over everything that we needed. Our food came out much quicker than expected which was nice Ambiance: it's a more casual spot with burgers, sandwiches and wings but it's nice inside. The restaurant is well decorated and it's separated with the bar area downstairs and seating upstairs. The bathrooms were all really clean as well

I loved my Shrimp Po Boy, very crispy shrimp along with fries. Would get it again. Servers were chill, no complaints. I went at first to eat at 3pm on a weekday, it was tranquil and then I arrived there for happy hour. The ambiance is busy and energetic for happy hour, especially right before a 76ers game. Recommend to enjoy happy hour here for their $5 beer and $5 starters, and just walk 5 mins to any of the stadiums. Great experience! Quick meal before taking my daughter to the Philadelphia Airport for a trip. Our server was Katherine, she took great care of us, frequently checked on us and helped w recommendations. It was a pre-Covid level of service. My daughter chose the chicken schnitzel and loved it. I went for the Kielbasa Ruben w a side salad. Will return!

Went on Friday evening, plenty of parking thankfully. the servers were very quick and super nice especially since I was dining solo. The food came out so fast and it was perfectly hot. Inside from where I sat was cute, just looked like a normal bar. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in Philly!

Live energy, little activity tables, and a small plant sale that was honestly very tempting. One of the coolest things I learned is that they have what's believed to be the oldest ginkgo tree in both North and South America. That alone made the visit feel a little special. I spent some time walking the trails and made my way around the water too. It's really pretty back there. Lots of flowers in bloom, open space, and quieter areas if you want a break from the crowd. I definitely liked the more shaded, tree-heavy sections the most. Some of the booths were set up fully in the sun and it got a bit intense after a while, so having those cooler, shaded areas made a big difference. Staff were very helpful and the trails are clearly marked, which made it easy to just wander without worrying about getting lost. Only downside is the location can be a little tricky to get to, especially if you're not driving. But once you're there, it's absolutely worth it. Overall just a really enjoyable, laid-back outdoor spot with a lot to explore. I'd come back, especially for another event.

I do think the parking lot didnt have too many spaces. It is probably enough space for families to have birthday parties and other small events. It felt like a 50 space lot. As i went for a job fair, there were employees that needed to park which probably took a good chunk of spaces if they did not carpool and countless attendees coming and going. The fair was only 4 hours and in my talks with them, someone mentioned they were only accepting 700 resumes that day so I imagine they were expecting alot of different people to come whether they drove or not throughout the day. Granted it took me less than an hour to speak with everyone i could, I dont think the parking was sufficient for that type of event and i had to park 2 blocks away.

My husband and I visited Philly to see Union Pacific's x4014 Big Boy locomotive at the Navy Yard. To be close to the action, we booked a room at the Courtyard and it was perfect for that. We also borrowed the hotel's bikes and rode all over the Navy Yard which was super fun. However, there isn't otherwise anything (restaurants or shops) within walking distance and it was a $30 Uber into downtown Philly. The Phillies' ballpark, the Eagles' stadium and an arena are all just across the way but I don't know how walkable it is. We look at walking to the nearest SEPTA station that serves that area but it was about 1.5 miles and 115 degrees out. Something that was unique to this hotel and that I loved was the water machine in the lobby. It dispensed still and sparkling water in a variety of flavors. You could also just get ol' fashioned still water. One disappoint was that the room had a huge TV but it wasn't a smart TV. The front desk staff was friendly upon check in and coordinating our bike rentals. The hotel was clean and despite being full of FIFA fans, quiet. Hotels are always a little funny to Yelp because I think there can be a direct correlation between rate and rating. We paid a pretty penny to stay here but it was also 4th of July weekend with the FIFA World Cup soccer match taking place and most importantly, Big Boy in town. We didn't have a car so I was glad we did not have to pay the $30 daily parking. For anyone who likes history, architecture, Navy history, etc., biking around the Navy Yard was a blast - no traffic and fascinating sites ranging from abandoned buildings to fully renovated historical gems. We borrowed the hotel's bikes for our ride and they were great.

I didn't notice until my second visit but it's a pretty convenient way to charge your phone if the other outlets are full. -In the lobby there is a designated table for food delivery services to drop off guests' food orders. -Behind the elevators is a really cool water machine that provides you with different flavors of sparkling and still water. Very refreshing. Cons: -Small closet -No handheld wand in the shower, so you have to do the rotisserie chicken thing in the shower to rinse off -On site parking is expensive: $30 a day -Towels and washcloths are thin. -I went to pick up my food delivery order from the lobby and noticed one of the elevators blocked by a caution cone. Inside elevator was another caution cone and what appeared to be vomit in the corner of the elevator, in front of the keypad. When I made the staff aware, I was told it was "just spilled food" and safe to use. It's hard to understand why basic steps weren't taken (especially in a hotel where towels and cleaning supplies are easily accessible) to cover or clean up the mess. However, no one had cleaned it or even placed anything over it. It would have taken minimal effort to address the situation or at least make it less unsightly. Instead, guests were expected to ride the elevator as-is, which reflects poorly on the hotel's cleanliness standards. -No makeup mirror in the bathroom. Even with the mirror being illuminated on the sides it still does not provide the ideal lighting for doing makeup.
