1/4/25 Came in for the chicken salad and also had to get the potato soup. Was able to grab open spot at bar and was able to start with a nice non heavy beer. The soup came out first which was good, wish I had hot sauce lol. The chicken salad I got with sweet potato fries and this was really good, I love sweet potato fries and the chicken salad very solid. I'll have to come back to try some other items like the fish n chips but would get this again lol. Always good to find a good one in the city. Not likely to go out of my way to come here but will stop in when nearby lol read more

Not bad. Not great. Just fine. I ordered the "Chef's special burger". It changes every day, they say. On this occasion, it had pickled vegetables and spicy mayo. Let me say - the burger was very tasty. I really enjoyed it. However, it was very small. It wasn't the size of a slider, but it wasn't much bigger than that. Really kinda shocking. The service was odd. We had 2 waitresses. One of the waitresses was excellent. The other seemed inconvenienced by us. Not sure what to make of that. I really enjoy the spot, tho. It is a fairly nice bar on the inside (we sat outside). Also, can't beat free, available parking. Big fan of that. I'll go back. I won't go out of my way to visit, but if someone asks me to go then I will. Not a bad price and beer selection, and there are things on the menu I will enjoy. read more

We honestly thought this was going to be a dive so were pleasantly surprised upon walking in. It's really a lovely little spot that's more of a restaurant than a bar. We did not eat but I saw a lot of food leaving the kitchen that looked delicious. Great big portions from what I could tell and it all seemed prepared to order. They have a nice craft beer selection as well as martinis, which is my jam. The bartender was very pleasant and helpful. One thing I want to note is how exceptionally clean this restaurant was. So glad we found this neighborhood gem!! The sweet potato fries were delicious!! The impossible burger was A++. The beef burger was also quite good. I can't forget the hummus!!! What a rude bartender. We were sitting at the bar, he looks at us and doesn't even serve us. 2 others walk in and he serves them right away. Their menu looks good but the service from the start was just horrible. Then he tells the a female that was walking behind the bar that I said "it was a little unfair" and she gave the nastiest look to me. We left. DONT COME HERE if you want rude and disrespectful service. I was hoping to try the food too :-( read more

Best food, served quickly and piping hot. I come here often just to eat and to play on my phone. The staffs nice, relatively easy parking, but it does get loud. It's small, I'm not even sure if they have tables since I just sit at the corner of the bar closest to the door lol but their sweet potato fries are diviiiiine. read more

A great little sports/dive bar. The drinks were great and the food even better. They have a good mix of drinks/food on the menu and you can also choose the music yourself via their jukebox! Cheesesteak eggrolls sounded a bit odd but I could not get enough. Highly recommend. Also liked the fish tacos but the cheesesteak eggrolls were the winner for me! read more

COVID-19 UPDATE: Came here on Saturday because I saw them post their aperol spritz slushie (slushy?) drink on Instagram and was lured by the heat and I must say that they are doing a FANTASTIC job with all of this. There was social distancing, all of the employees had masks on, and they were super happy and friendly. I adore this place so much and just HAD to go back and get a 6 pack and some wings to-go. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the neighborhood (or even if you're not). Their wings are absolutely delicious and may I suggest getting a slushie drink to cool you down while you're there? Keep up the good work, FPS! read more

Came here to watch March Madness at the upstairs bar (Gina is amazing!) and had enjoyable drinks and converstation with friends. The food is good but I found both items I tried excessively salty - the vegetable soup and the brussels sprouts appetizer. Salt-city! Washed it down with more drinks. That was fun! read more

We ordered takeout from here and are looking forward to coming back to try more. The first time we ordered, my husband got the Nachos worth pork, and I got the cream of potato soup and a Caesar salad. The nachos were great, really hot the spot. The salad was fresh and your typical Caesar salad, the croutons were on point. The soup was okay, but it needed a little something. I ended up adding some crushed red pepper to give it some extra flavor. The next time we ordered we, again, got the nachos, which were still great. We also ordered fried chicken tenders, the jumbo pretzel, and the Turkey Club. Chicken tenders were excellent, really flavorful, juicy, and crisp on the outside. The pretzel was also really good. Great texture, and perfectly salted. We also really enjoyed the dipping sauces. The turkey club was also delicious. The turkey was very fresh, paired well with the cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and creamy avocado with a super flavorful chipotle Mayo. Definitely an elevated version of the classic turkey club. I have heard good things about other specific menu items, I look forward to coming back and updating as we try more! read more

My friend Ian and I came here to have a beer and some Pub fare. My Pierogi platter was very tasty and our bartender (Sadie #2 :-)) was delightful. Did not come back from the pandemic well. Food showed up cold and eggs looked terribly over cooked. Sent back and it came back in less than 2 minutes not even heated. Also ordered chicken and waffle, and the waffles were quite doughy. The wait staff is nice but they really need a different cook. read more

It was our first time back since COVID. It seemed like the waitresses were overworked. The food was a mishmash of bar food, from pierogis to pulled pork sandwiches. The fried pickles are delicious! I asked for a beer twice and never received it but others at my table got three rounds of drinks. Our pups were loved and received a treat. We haven't been here in quite some time. Probably 4 years or so. We stopped in last night for a quick bite while in the area. We were sat immediately in the back of the restaurant. Our server was okay I guess. He would disappear for a good amount of time. He seemed a bit overwhelmed. The food runner was much better. We went with the chicken quesadilla, edamame and small chicken salad. The quesadilla was great! Cooked to perfection, the Pico was fresh and the chipotle sour cream was where it's at. The edamame was good. The chicken salad was nice and fresh as were the apples. The menu is a bit limited and not a good place for kids. We would give it another shot. Overall 3 stars. read more

In town for March Madness games and this place was a brunch suggestion. Well worth the time and money. My friend had the western omelet and I had the breakfast sandwich. Food and service was all very good. There were some loud locals in the house that was distracting and the bartender probably contributed to that. Our table server was awesome and I would visit again if back in Philly. It's a very small lower level area so keep that in mind if you have a group. read more

Tried it here for the first time last week. I had always wanted to stop in and I'm so glad I finally did! I enjoyed the beyond Berger with blue cheese and mushrooms and my friend has the Cuban sandwich which he said was really good. Prices were good. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and sat outside. I think everyone in the neighborhood is happy for this hot-spot. Your somewhat typical Irish bar, located in a convenient location for walkers, this spot always seems to be busy. They have basic outdoor seating with a view of a fairly busy intersection. The menu is made up of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees all between $10-$20 dollar mark. They do keep a dozen or so drafts on tap for quenching your thirst, all in the $4-$8 dollar mark. I personally think their menu leaves a bit to be desired with some healthier options. And their service is good, but not spectacular. If in the area, I would recommend this place. If you're more than a .5 mile walk, chances are there is a place just like this or better near you. read more

We stopped in here after I took my husband out for Fathers Day dinner to watch Sixers Game 6. It was a good place to sit in the air conditioning, multiple screens all playing the game, and good service getting us drinks and checking in on us. Pro - 'Fish and Chips' was excellent - three good sized portions with crisp batter, real sliced potato fries. Not so pro - Table top was sticky. Floor was full of crumbs. This was mid afternoon on a weekday. Odd - When I walked in all I could think of was those British murder mysteries where the non-local walks into the local pub and everyone goes silent and turns around to stare at them. The waitress was ok but distracted, the male bartender was zoned out, making no eye contact or response to my compliment on the food. It was apparent that the few people at the bar were regulars. Love watching the Eagles here! Come early though and get a table and get posted before the game. Free buffet during half time and order whatever beer it is that day to get some raffles for a free jersey! The wings are decent, could definitely be crispier though. The buffet was pretty decent! I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

I got back to my hotel my second but I found a hair. Like a fatty I threw it to the side and kept eating it anyways. Unlike a true fatty, I didn't finish it. So unholy for a Mac and cheese lover like myself... but it was too acidic for me. I couldn't keep eating it. So I'm basing this review solely on the food. The service seemed ok? They seemed nice, but can't judge that as I did take out.

I also learned their food menu boasts some well known choices. However, on this lunch visit the grill was out of service; no burgers, steaks, etc. I pivoted to their popular steamed mussels. A sizable pot of plump mussels in their black shells swimming in their liquor and considerable diced garlic and chopped fresh parsley. Delicious. The meal was accompanied by pommes frites and small slices of baguette for sopping. A chilled pint of Elder finished the monk's testament to excellence. Take a break from the cheesesteak and commit to the Monk. Well worth it.
