First time trying Butter chicken pizza (ever) and it was a wonderful experience. Protip: eat it while its hot. I made the mistake of saving it for dinner (3-4 hours after ordering it) and the reheating process did nothing for the pizza. Also got the chicken curry, was a bit on the salty side but quite flavorful. Their naan is 10/10. Ordering phone take out took around 30 minutes to prepare. read more

Food is good but customer service is not. Now they have so many customers that they just don't care about them anymore. I got a delivery of Shahi Paneer about 2 hours late and on top of that they didn't put any Salt in the Paneer. When I called back the guy said that he will curse the workers in the back....I was like, dude, I didn't mean that. Nor would I ever want that to happen to anyone. I ordered take out Indian food from this location. I ordered butter chicken, spinach paneer and rice. Naan and salad was included in each entree. Food was ready on time for pick up. When I finally got to try the food, it tasted pretty good. There was leftover for the next day. I am giving this place a 3 star because I have been spoiled buying Indian food along Scott road. THE. WORST. CURRY. I'VE. EVER. HAD.!!!!! Unless you like your curry to taste like pasta sauce with too much tomato and too much sugar don't go here! They used the exact same sauce for the shahi paneer and butter chicken and the chicken was exceptionally dry. Also extremely over priced and not worth the 2 pieces of bad naan bread you get with the large $14 dishes which aren't that large. Also they charge way more than any other place for their large (but really small) rice $7!!!!! We will never order here again. Terrible. read more

I was introduced to Gateway by East Indian friends 3 yrs ago. I fell in love with their pizza instantly. Every time I order pizza I went here. I've always avoided going here during rush hour due to heavy traffic since it is a small place. For the past couple of months Gateway's services have been dropping. The owners are so rude now and they don't treat me with respect. Also, I used to never have problems paying for food. However, in my past 3 visits, the owners tried to scam me. They tried charging me extra $3-$4 on top of what it actually costs. They think that they can get away with it because some people might not check it before tapping their card. Went there after recommendations from locals. Ordered paneer vegetarian (Indian style) pizza to go and was disappointed. The pizza dough was too thick and dense. The sauce was spicy (because I ordered it so) but lacked any Indian flavor. The toppings were uninspiring. All in all okay but I have had better elsewhere including in Surrey (where I expect to find the best). While I was waiting for my order there were many customers picking up samosas, Indian curries and even pizza. So the establishment clearly has a lot of loyal customers and to each their own taste. Next time though, I will go back to Royals (in the same complex as Samosa House) or Village (in the same complex as Prabhu Sweets. The great thing about Surrey is that there are so many joints offering so much choice. The women at Apna Chaat were also asking me to try their pizza but I already had one from Gateway -- maybe next time! read more

I'm staying in Surrey on business and decided to trust the reviews and pop in here for some quick takeout. This was some of the best Indian food I've had!! Because I'm trying to be healthy, I wouldn't let myself order any curry dishes and opted for the Chicken Tikka. When I've ordered this at any other restaurant it is quite dry but I told myself it was a compromise. It was SO INCREDIBLY MOIST it is unreal. Who needs the masala anyways? Absolutely horroble pizza! My two friends had it and their stomachs didnt feel so good afterwards. My husband and I had the butter chicken for take out and it was LOADED with grease. We had to take a few spoonfuls of oil out before we could start eating. And then it tasted kinda salty. Naan bread definitely not the best, but satisfactory. Rice was horrible too. I went to the location in Langley today and the guy at the front giving everyone their orders was being so rude to me and ended up yelling at my instead of speaking to me nicely. It ended up making me cry and I had lost my appetite. And they're food isn't as good as I thought it would me but I will never go back there. I've ordered from Gateway in the past remembering it being pretty good. I recently ordered for delivery and it took close to 1hr and 45 minutes till I had to call and check on the delivery time, no apology just told me the driver will be there whenever then hung up on me. The driver made up an excuse saying that everyone was told it will take over an hour.. lies. The pizza (and box) arrived soggy, tandoori chicken was dry and Tikka... little to none, half of the container was full and the rice was hard or old. My co-workers and I sometimes order from this place. I've never had their pizza but the curry is delicious! We order quite a few dishes each time and nothing has disappointed. This is the only place we order Indian food from. The service is great as well. They deliver quite promptly and there hasn't been any mix ups with our order. Just called to place an order called to order a pound of veggie pakora and a medium Greek pizza for my lunch at work the lady in the phone who was very hard of English informs me they don't have any veggie pakoras today only fish :S so I say okay one moment I'll have to look for something else mind you it is 3 ocklock lunch rush is over and dinner rush doesent usually start til 5 she then says I need to hurry up so I say okay I'll get a side of palak paneer the medium Greek pizza is 11$ and the paneer is 10$ I live 5 minutes from them and they tell me my bill is 31$ !? This place is terrible. I can't say anything about the pizza, but for the Indian at least the prices were very reasonable for the amount and quality of what you get. Well except for the naan. However, I will never, EVER be ordering from this place again. The customer service is probably the worst I've ever experienced. To begin: When I called in to order for delivery, the woman on the phone was just. So amazingly rude. She didn't listen when I spoke, told me to hurry and then kept telling me to be quiet so she could talk to people around her. I mean yeah, restaurants get busy and sometimes you have to split your attention or put someone on hold, but I don't know how they expect to keep customers if they handle them the way she did with me. The food was two hours late. Two hours. After the estimated time of delivery, which was an hour. No phone call, nothing to give any clue it was going to be late or if it was even coming at all. Now let's talk about when it finally did arrive. It was lukewarm, congealing, and it looked like a two year old had packaged it up. The lids weren't on correctly and there was chilli chicken leaking out all over everything. Not to mention the once again, VERY RUDE man who delivered it. I came back from taking out the garbage to find this man standing in the driveway outside my row of townhouses yelling - at nine o'clock on a Sunday night - trying to find which house the order belonged to. Fairly certain the neighbours are going to have something to say about that. Anyway, once its become clear that oh, this food is for me, he starts off this interaction by informing me that my contact information and address wasn't right. Now, I remember very clearly giving this information to the charming woman I spoke to previously. I remember having her repeat it back to me to make sure that what she got was, indeed, the correct information. But okay, sorry, maybe it was wrong. My bad. Now, the delivery information is written on the receipt. The receipt that he refused to give me until I insisted. He did eventually hand it over though. Lo and behold! The information written down was in fact the correct information. He left pretty quickly. I'll admit, I did read the reviews before giving this place a try. I did see several people say the wait and customer service left a little something to be desired. I decided to try it anyway. That really is my bad. I will never order food from this location again. First off, I will admit that they're Indian food is pretty good.But it in NO WAY makes up for the horrible way they treat you. There were so many things wrong with how we were treated, I'm surprised this place can operate at any kind of profit. I called in to place an order for delivery and the woman on the phone was rude and disrespectful. She repeatedly cut me off to talk to other people at her location or on another line. I understand being busy and needing to switch lines or focus, but the way she did it was completely unprofessional. After placing my order I was told that the food would be delivered in 45 minutes to an hour. 2 hours later I went outside for a moment and watched the delivery man arrive and start banging on my neighbor's door, yelling at them to ask if they ordered food. I waived him over to my door and once again the customer service was appalling. he berated me that the phone number I gave was wrong and that we hadn't given our full address. I paid by debit and he tried to leave without giving me my receipt and was condescending when I asked for it. When he did give it to me, I checked the information on the order form and both the phone number and address on it were both complete and correct. The food delivered was what we had ordered, but it hadn't been kept upright during transport so one of the dishes had leaked sauce all over the bottom of the bag.
