This was the worst food experience I had in awhile: - They left out one of the pizza toppings - The wings were clearly microwaved. They were gummy and chewy - We ordered two pizzas and both were extremely dry with hardly any sauce - The crust tasted processed and dry - They attempt to trick people into double-tipping. This is my favorite place for take out when I feel like being an adult is too difficult, and cooking would push me into a nervous breakdown. The Indian food here is like a warm hug filled with love for your mouth -- I usually get the shahi paneer, but on occasion the butter chicken also hits the spot. Thanks to Darren N, I pretended that this was a hole in the wall Indian place that I have passed by for years. (Its true, I lived a block away for two years and never stopped in!) Today, I had the Mattar Paneer and Naan, and ya, lets just say that I ended up eating it in my car on the side of 16th Ave. Licked the take out container clean, and felt a tad piggish. I was supposed to bring some home for the lil lady. Oops. I would second the other reviewers and get straight to the Indian food on the menu. Seems fairly reasonably priced? $13.50 for my lunch, and I totally could/should have shared it. The Naan is made fresh right on the spot. The cook is a happy fella and seemed genuinely thrilled that I was a newcomer to his business. As the seating is crappy, get your take out and head east down the alley between 16th and 17th just past Collingwood and you will find a nice grassy field with city views to have a picnic. Plus you can wipe your hands on the grass! Or borrow someones garden hose. You will need it. read more

You have to forget that this place says 'pizza' on the outside and instead try some of their indian cuisine. They do not promote it that heavily but it is really really good. They have an actual tandoori oven! Their naan is excellent and I personally recommend the gobi paneer. Pick up or order out, unless you're cool with sitting on top of people; it's tiny. They have pizza coming out you can buy a few slices of, or call ahead to order and pick up. The Indian food is really good! I'm not an expert, but the Butter Chicken and Naan I had were freaking delicious...I had medium spicy and I could go hotter, but damn it was tasty. For $12 the chicken dish isn't huge so I wouldn't call it the cheapest deal, but I had two smaller meals out of it. It's just probably not quite enough for two people though. Yummy. 4 years later and we are still ordering from Dunbar pizza on Friday nights. I think in 4 years we might have had 1, maybe 2 pizzas we made bad decisions on (but that was our fault, not theirs). They are always consistent in quality, uber-amazing naan's (my fave is the spinach naan) and very satisfying pizza's with lots of choices. Prices are still just as great as ever. read more

I ordered a biryani and samosa from this place. The owner ignored me for almost 5 minutes when i went for a pickup, although he apologized alot once he gave us his attention. But the food was horrible. The biryani was flavourless and tasted like boiled rice, chicken and vegetables with some 'indian style' sauce. I ordered vegetable samosas and got chicken samosas instead. Its good that i eat non veg , else i would be really offended. Either ways the chicken samosas were quite terrible, pre cooked and microwaved as i ordered them. This is certainly not Indian food, and i recommend the chef and owner travel to india and expeirence the food there!! Would not recommend this to anyone. read more

The sauce is really holding this pizza back. Both the quantity and the quality are disappointing. However, the cheese and crust are pretty good. Ample amounts of cheese and the crust is kind of crispy. Sort of like a deep-dish pizza except it's not. They must line the pans with oil to get this effect without burning the crust. It is probably the best aspect of this pizza, but the total effect is merely average. The price is the real draw. At $6 for a small cheese this is the cheapest I've seen any pizza in town. Given the price it's a pretty good value. Also has Indian food. read more

If you're in the mood for good pizza with a great crust this is the place to come get some Za. Usually I don't eat the crust because for some reason I just don't like crust but this place has it on point. It's got a perfect crunch to it. I love it. Sometimes when I'm in the mood i'll order a pizza and butter chicken with garlic naan. Other days i'll order 2 pizzas. I usually get the Canadian and the meat lovers. Every time I order from here i'm never disappointed. They also have really good samosas as well (Meat and Veg I believe). A coworker of mine treated us to lunch with takeout from this place. I must say I have never heard of such a place where one makes Indian food and pizza?! Since it was takeout I had to look at the menu provided with the delivery to know the prices...(especially since I didn't pay for it...) The food wasn't bad at all. An order of Butter chicken, naan, rice, malai koffta were the items. The sauce was good although I personally found the orders of the butter chicken and rice alittle on the small side. Naan was in great abundance though. My guess is for a quick lunch place this isn't bad but still alittle bit on the pricier side to fill one's stomach up. All in all...an a-ok place! :D read more

Un exemple est la pizza avec le poulet au beurre indien. Il y a aussi une pizza saveur curry jaune. Pour les moins aventureux, ils ont aussi des types de pizza plus communs au Canada comme la pizza fromage, la pizza pepperoni et la pizza Hawaïen. Le restaurant vend aussi de la nourriture indienne comme des samosas et le Gulab Jamun, une délicatesse sucrée. Les prix sont aussi très bas et le service et très vite, c'est un endroit parfait pour un dîner ou une collation rapide avec de bons amis. Il y a de nouveaux types de plats indiens que les chefs font tous les jours, il y a toujours quelque chose de différent de manger chaque fois qu'on y va si on veut expérimenter. En conclusion, Dumber Pizza est un des meilleurs restaurants de Vancouver grâce à sa variété de nourriture pour un prix bas. I was disappointment by the pizzas I got (2 large half meatlovers, butter chicken, BBQ chicken, sausage/bell peppers/mushrooms/onions). The crust was super thick and dense like old bagels. This overpowered the flavors of the cheese and other ingredients. Overall the pizza was on the dry side with minimal sauce (which is usually fine for me) and cheese compared to the bulk of the crust. There were a lot of raves about how the pizza here is reliable and I would say that this is a very diluted version of what pizza should be compared to my American taste for pizza. If you are looking for a stretchier, lighter, chewier crust and pizza with a healthy amount of cheese and grease, then I recommend you look elsewhere. read more

Pretty solid indian food. I always ask for delivery to UBC, and almost always ordered their butter chicken. The portion and quality is very good, and I (think) it is authentic butter chicken.
