"Quick Service but Left Without Answers" I visited Gateway Urgent Care to get tested for the flu after returning home from a cruise where most passengers tested positive. The staff was very nice, and I was seen quickly, which I appreciated. Both my flu and COVID tests came back negative, but unfortunately, I left the visit without any answers about why I was feeling unwell. While the overall experience was efficient, I wish more effort had been made to help me determine the cause of my symptoms. read more

"Urgent care" but only when it's convenient for them. These people turned away my chronically ill sister who couldn't keep anything down and needed fluids desperately, and all because they said it would "take too long" and the provider wasn't "comfortable" with that. I was sent very fast. Doctors were on top of everything I was referred for CT scan and had an appt. they never sent the order over for the CT scan. when the lab reached out to them after calling twice in an hour the receptionist had an attitude. the order should have been sent over as soon as I left the urgent care. Have been going to this clinic since I moved to Murfreesboro 5 years ago. Have never had a bad experience until this week. I tested positive for a uti and was prescribed a 5 day dose of ciproflaxin. I received a call 3 days after I had been seen discussing my lab culture results and the provider told me if I was still experiencing symptoms or just not feeling better to call back. Well after finishing my antibiotics and still having some symptoms, I call back today and ask if she can call in another round of antibiotics. I will say I have taken ciproflaxin before and it is typically a 7 day dose med for me. She said no, that I would have to come in to be reassessed just to be prescribed another round of medicine. I have a high deductible and can't afford to do so. So unfortunately I will have to put off this uti until payday and hope it doesn't get worse. In the past, I have called this same clinic, and if symptoms don't go away they have always called me in an extra round of meds and have been super accommodating. Just very disappointed and in pain honestly. I understand if policies have changed, but that's what she should have said over the phone then. Not that "You are already on the correct treatment plan". I'll just find a different clinic to meet my needs. read more

Nice facility. In and out quick. Basically I was told I had the flu and it was too late for TamiFlu. I was not offered any OTC recommendations to treat the symptoms, tessalon pearls, nothing for my wheezing (I have never had wheezing) are anything. No discharge paper work, education, NOT A THING!! Just you have the flu, see ya later bye! As a registered nurse myself I hate that so many healthcare workers are so caught up with in and out that they don't show compassion. read more

From the beginning to end I was treated with respect and my concerns were listened to and answered without a hint of annoyance and I didn't feel rushed! The staff went out of the way to find the best prices for my medicine since we pay cash for our medical care, and they went a extra step for me by finding coupons and applied them for me so I just had to pick up my prescriptions. I came in first thing on a Sunday morning very sick. Every person I came in contact with was so nice. I've never been treated so nicely in an Urgent Care. The first nurse even offered me some water. I came here yesterday around 10, and I was the second person. There was only 1 other person ahead of me in the waiting room (they had some people in the back and some people came in after me), but I felt that I was seen pretty quick. The clinic looked very nice and new. I liked it a lot. They even have a little drink station for you to go have drinks at. They also had masks for you to wear at the front counter which I liked a lot because I think anyone who came down with something should wear a mask. I felt the staff were friendly and when I went to the back, I was seen right away. The Dr did a great job and was very well educated. I would definitely recommend this clinic. The two receptionists at the front desk were not wearing masks the entire time I was there. However, they had a whole system for sanitizing the pens that they kept at reception. It is as if these people are not aware that a great majority of COVID transmission is via airborne droplets and not fomite transmission (inanimate objects). Luckily, the nurses and doctors in the back all wore their masks correctly. But why, in an urgent care clinic on the tail-end of one of the absolute peaks of the global pandemic, are they not doing everything they can to mitigate the spread of COVID in their facility? At best, it seems incredibly irresponsible and at worst it could be deadly for someone. If you are looking for a clinic that is doing everything to keep their patients safe from COVID, I definitely would NOT recommend this clinic. Aside from that negligence, the care that I received was lackluster. My main symptoms being a high fever and sore throat. They only seemed interested in giving me a COVID test (rapid antigen). When that came back negative, they took a send away COVID test (I assume PCR) and were about to send me on my way with no answers. I had to ask them specifically to test me for strep. They told me my results for the strep test would be back in 5 minutes, so I waited. The nurse came back shortly and told me it was negative and sent me on my way. About 3 minutes after leaving the clinic, they called to inform me that my strep test actually came back positive. I was glad that I was finally able to get answers and the appropriate treatment, but my overall experience was not good. If you are immunocompromised or have loved ones who are, I'd recommend that you avoid this facility. read more

Accidentally cut my finger while slicing a summer sausage and my finger would not stop bleeding. After a few hours of waiting, luckily this urgent care was still opened, arrived at about 6:30 PM on a Thursday. The nurse brought me back within 10 mins after filling out paperwork. Soaked my finger in a disinfecting solution and the Doctor came in to start stitching. They will numb you before the procedure which was probably the worst part. But overall very pleased and glad I didn't have to go to the hospital and have a huge bill! read more

Dr. Weathersby and Caleb are amazing! They both have worked at a Hospital in the Emergency Room and I have seen them twice as an Urgent Care patient. There was little to no wait time in the office, and their receptionists were nice and helpful. I was seen quickly and given my medication quickly. Gateway Urgent Care is now my primary care facility and I couldn't be happier with my choice. If you are looking for little to no wait, even as a walk-in, then I would go here. read more

I have been the bane of Gateway's existence for the last week during the rollercoaster of a botched surgery henceforth known as the 'ear saga.' they have not only treated my gross lobes, but have been patient, kind, and tolerant of my mediocre attempts at humor and inquiries as to whether my ears are going to fall off. today, the man, the legend Dr. Weathersby himself stayed late to drain and restitch my ears to attempt to undo the fallacy that another doctor bestowed upon my poor lobes. I get a bronchitis like infection every 1-1/2 years and I generally tough it out. But today I gave in. I saw Dr. Weathersby and staff. In quickly. I usually get kind of blown off so that is why I don't even bother. But they listened to me. They talked to me. I walked out with a steroid injection, antibiotic injection, prescriptions for antibiotics, a cough syrup that actually works. I took one dose and have not felt this good in 5 days. Also discussed Chantix to quite smoking. Had a funny conversation about that and got a prescription for that too. While I have a primary care physician that I am happy with, I am glad I found a place close and convenient where I feel like I will get great care. Now I have a primary care and an acute care physician. And of note, I don't play one against the other. I don't seek drugs. But sometimes, which is normal, getting in to the primary care for acute care is a little challenging. So these guys are great. I highly recommend them. read more

I said I was self paying the full amount due due to no insurance and was driven here with a wrist injury and I was refused treatment. Horrible place and how stupid when I'm paying in full. I have unfortunately had to come here twice, once for a stomach bug and once for a knee injury. I have no negative things to say about this place. The front desk gals are extremely kind and make you feel comfortable when you're in pain. And all the staff I have seen/interacted with are kind and very helpful in trying to make you feel better. I had a medical issue that couldn't wait for my doctor office to open on Monday so went here Sunday morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The wait wasn't too bad considering how busy they were. My only issue was I got their name off the Care Credit website as a provider who accepts this payment only to find when I got there that they don't accept it anymore. Not sure if it's their fault for not notifying Care Credit to remove them or if they did notify and Care Credit just hadn't removed them yet. Overall a good experience and if I need urgent care again I would probably use them again even though they aren't the closest to me. Would possibly even consider going to them for primary care if they provided it. read more

Saw their commercial on TV and needed to see a physician after normal hours so went to Gateway Urgent. The office staff was very kind and efficient. Of course their office is new, beautiful and very clean. The parking is right next to the office, so accessibility is easy. The PA was very thorough, attentive and was not in a hurry. They diagnosed my situation and set me up on a course of help and recovery. Check out was simple and quick. I have MS and started feeling sick. When you are sick and have MS it can trigger and series of pretty ruthless autoimmune attacks. I came in today just as a precaution because I was in the early stages of a cold, possibly the flu? Luckily it was neither. However the staff was kind and VERY quick. I waited maybe a min or two after filling out paperwork until I was seen. The nurse and physician were very helpful and kind. I would definitely go back.... as a matter of fact my friend has been sick and I told her to visit gateway once I had left. I went there over a holiday weekend with unusual pain between my shoulder blades. I saw the doctor, but he did not actually look at my back. He simply told me to take a high dose of ibuprofen. Had he bothered to examine my back, he would have seen that I actually had shingles. A proper diagnosis would have spared me the extreme pain I experienced until I could get to my primary care doctor after the holiday. read more

DO NOT GO, do not go, do not go. I am in the parking lot right now waiting for an Uber to take me to another clinic. I got here right at 8:20, checked in, there was no one in front of me here. I was having extreme pain to where I curled up in a ball and had an Uber drop me off. I have been waiting to be seen as I hear them joke and giggle in the background. It's been almost an hour, so I just walked out and I'm sitting in a ball in the parking lot waiting for an Uber to take me somewhere else to be seen. Took my friend who wasnt feeling well here last night, and while I was in the waiting room & he was being seen, the ladies at the front desk were very loudly joking about him & talking about his symptoms. It was very obvious that they were talking about him & they shared personal details loud enough for the whole waiting room to hear. It was really unprofessional and frustrating because I was very worried about him. Also, the physican was really dismissive & barely spent a minute in the room with my friend. Went there around 7:30 pm due to extreme foot pain. They seemed annoyed the fact I was coming in but was still willing to help. I was told to fill out only the top page. Once that was complete they told me I had two more pages to fill out, then continue to tell me I had more pages to fill out after filling out those two pages. They as well advised me to go to the emergency room instead, which was something I insisted I didn't want to do. They as well said that medication would more than likely not be prescribed, mind you my foot is unwalkable and nearly, if not, clearly broken. So, had to go to another clinic later in the day pay 30 dollars and tested positive for the flu. They diagnosed me with bronchitis, which I could have had also but she told me she was pretty sure it wasn't flu. Also, I have called 3 times in the last two days to get a prescription and keep getting the run around. No one will return the call. So infuriated at this point, I'm done. For an unknown reason my deductible at this clinic was $100 instead of the zero or $25 it has ever been anywhere else. (the staff said it's because they are "urgent care". I guess thats better than a walk in? Lots of walk ins are called Urgent Care) AND the staff misspelled my last name by 1 letter on my prescription and my pharmacy wound't fill my medicine. To say the least I drove home 45 minutes $100 lighter and with no medication. My only option was to drive 20 minutes back across town and get a new, correct prescription. I was way to sick to do that. The receptionist did make a copy of my drivers license and insurance so I'm not sure why my name was misspelled.
