Never being one to go small when it comes to burgers I went with The Imperial, which is listed as their biggest burger with 3 1/4 pound patties. The waiter asked me if I wanted to add bacon...well of course I do! Man what a good suggestion. Honesty, it may have been some odd mistake because that burger seemed loaded up with crispy bacon. It literally had bacon on the bottom and top of the patties...it was amazing. I think I told my wife 3 times, "There really has bacon on the top AND BOTTOM of this thing!" Patties were perfectly seasoned, vegetables were fresh, cheese was melty, freaking chef's kiss baby! This burger hit the spot. I paired it with the mac and cheese, solid option to have as a side other than fries. Next time I might go with the onion rings, but as I think about it, I will likely get the mac and cheese again...AND get onion rings, too. read more

My wife and I visited just the other day. Upon first entering the establishment we were both confused about the vibe. It seemed both empty and full at the same time. One half of the building was 8 or 10 flatscreen TVs all playing something entirely different. Then the other half was filled with AI generated t-shirts and wall art. As we sat down we were greeted by our server who was amazing. We then looked at our menus and were greeted with the cold and soulless stare of more AI generated images. The images plagued the menu. If they are going to put anything, why wouldn't they just put images of the menu items. I don't know. I ordered the fried pickles. After receiving the pickles I was disappointed with the value. Nevertheless I then ordered a lunch special Cheese Burger and fries. My wife ordered some sort of BBQ sandwich/burger with tots. All in all we agreed that the food was merely average. Many thanks to our server who was amazing. Side note: not quite sure what the obsession is with AI is, but it would not surprise me if the entire menu and design of the restaurant was AI. This is one of the really good restaurants in Boerne, which are few and far between. Most are overhyped, overrated and overpriced. But not 28 Songs. They have a delicious burger and their tots are great. They are famous for their Totchos (nachos made with tots) in which I have not tried them yet. This a great place for a cheat meal. The Macaroni Balls were impressively tasty. Very creamy on the inside while crunchy on the outside. The Fungi Sausage pizza was so tasty. Nice crispy bite with delectable sausage and fungi. We pass by this location every time we travel to San Antonio from Sisterdale and back. I promised myself that one day, I'll stop here for lunch. I did just that a couple of days ago on my way back to Sisterdale! Firstly, the menu is not as expansive as others. Meanwhile, their craft beer selection and their wine selection is quite extensive. Since this was lunch close to 1 pm, I ordered their 28 Songs Kapu Aloha blonde ale craft beer. It was delicious! The smashed burger with fries was not far behind and had a wonderful and tasty lunch. The size of the burger and fries was perfect! Service was excellent and I even ordered a smashed burger and fries to go for my wife! Delicious plate of burger and fries indeed! Ambiance is quite comfortable. I can imagine this place filling up on weekends - what with a wall of TV's and a beautiful bar setup. Honest Review: Great beer options on tap, really miss them having Kona Big Wave which is hard to find on tap here. The Food: To me the food tastes like bagged frozen food, I was told the burger was incredible and it tasted like a pre-formed patty from a Sysco bag. The dressings are not homemade and taste like shelf stable Wishbone dressing. The buffalo wings and tenders again taste like concession stand food. I wish I could say the food is great but it really needs an overhaul. I've been three times and would still go back just for the beer. My family and I love this place! I added it to my list just a couple of weeks ago and am so glad I did. It is a bit further up on Main, so you will need to drive versus parking on the strip and walking, but absolutely worth it. The inside is a wide-open area with plenty of seating and a large bar to the center-left. It is somewhat dim, though. They do not have board games, which would be a nice addition, especially for families. It also motivates the customer to stay longer. Finally, a covered outdoor patio area is on the right side of the building. They offer their own craft beer as well as other regional breweries. I wish I could remember what my partner and I ordered, but it was one of theirs. It was refreshing and went well with our meal. My father-in-law had the BLAT and thought it was a good choice. My mother-in-law had the Jr Burger and our son had the chicken fritters. Both enjoyed their meals. My partner and I shared the Ultimate Melt, which was absolutely delicious. However, the agreed-upon highlight was the tots - crispy and hot. This was all served by Hayley, who was friendly and engaging. My buddy, who is more like a brother to me than friend, came down to visit for a week while my wife was in Florida for her annual vacation with her college girlfriends. He is nearly blind and doesn't get out much back in Kansas. I try to take him to different breweries, distilleries, restaurants, and other venues. It is more fun for me when we find a new place neither of us has ever been. 28 Songs was one of the 22 stops we made during the week. And to be honest with you, it was one of my favorites. The venue is roomy but comfortable. There were plenty of seats at the bar, where we chose to sit. That was a good choice because we got to spend some time with the owner talking about beer and the craft beer business. He and the other staff there were very nice and welcoming. We even got to sample an as yet unnamed beer that will be on tap soon. They have a great selection of beer on tap. For most styles, they have at least one of their own brews. Trust me, based on the flight I had, they know how to brew a nice beer. We weren't there for food, but I did check out the menu. They have lots of great choices which I will try in the future when I bring my wife back. She doesn't drink beer, but they have a nice collection of wines. Some other features that you may want to know about besides the 28 beer taps are: pet friendly covered outdoor patio, 12 television screens for sports, trivia that you can play all day, and happy hours Monday through Friday. read more
