We went out for dinner to celebrate our Anniversary & we were very disappointed with a number of things: The waitress was very loud to start off & we felt rushed the whole time we were there. My wife ordered the scallops & pasta as her entree (3 small scallops) & very little pasta which was disappointing. I ordered the pork chop which was very fatty & i would say that there was only about 6-7 oz's when it said that it would be 10 to 12 oz's. When we left we were still hungry & came home & had something else to eat. That meal with wine was $133. but definitely not worth it. We will not be going back there again as there are too many other restaurants in Winnipeg that has much better food & at a lower cost. read more

We really enjoyed all of our food at Gather. The restaurant itself is beautiful and located inside the Leaf. We started with the olives and corn dip/chips, which were both really good. For entrees, we had the curry and the pork tenderloin, which we would highly recommend both. Definitely worth adding to your list of places to eat in Winnipeg. read more

This place is awesome, and definitely worth making a part of any trip to the Leaf. Actually, it's worth visiting even if you aren't planning on touring the Leaf. While clearly a nice restaurant, the atmosphere isn't pretentious at all. It's chill, people are friendly, and I was really impressed by how calm everyone seemed in the open kitchen. The menu I guess could be described as "New Canadian", and I'd say it's got something for everyone, but is focused enough not to overwhelm. We got three of the small plates to start with and share: the focaccia, the chorizo spiced tacos, and the roasted squash gnocchi. The tacos are actually made with soy curls (a soy-based protein that actually has the texture of chicken) flavored with chorizo spices. Our meat-eating (and meat-loving) parents who usually dislike tofu and any meat alternatives actually really liked the tacos. I tried some of the mole and it was so good that I ended up pouring some of the extra on the focaccia! The focaccia itself was pillowy and perfect with a unique and delicious strawberry infused whipped butter. The gnocchi was by far my favorite dish of the night. The contrast of the pillowy gnocchi to the pumpkin seed brittle, and the sweet squash to the savory mushroom xo, all make for delight and interest in every bite. For mains, I got the coconut korma with soy curls, and my dinner buddies got the house salads (one with chicken and one with soy curls) and the linguine with spinach creme sauce. Props to the kitchen for very satisfying portions on the large plates. We were all stuffed by the end and I actually needed a bit of help at the end to finish mine. The korma was delicious, with fragrant fluffy rice and flavorful soy protein. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes, and the only downside was that we were too stuffed to try and of the desserts, which sounded amazing. I'm not that particular about service in general, but when it's good, I can definitely notice, and the service here is really, really good. Our server, Karla (or Carla?) was so attentive, so helpful, kept us well hydrated, and paced everything out perfectly. Avoid this restaurant if you value hygiene or honest service. Our party of eight had a disastrous experience on Feb 12th, 2026, marked by a major health code violation and predatory billing. * The Food: We found live fruit flies crawling in the sauce of a $45 lamb shank. When we pointed it out, the manager made excuses about the restaurant's location instead of taking accountability because the meal had been mostly consumed when the flies were discovered. * The Service: Inattentive and disjointed. Kids' meals arrived 30 minutes before the adults' and a burger that was ordered also arrived with the wrong adjustments. * The Bill: After "agreeing" to comp the contaminated meal, the manager stopped me in front of other guests as I was leaving, claiming I'd been undercharged. I was pressured into paying an additional amount without an itemized receipt. I actually ended up paying MORE than my original bill before any "comps." Essentially, I feel penalized for complaining about insects in the food. We came to eat at Gather for a lunch reservation after our excursion at the Leaf. Everything we had, from cocktails, to food, to the service was impeccable. We started with the bread service (Peppercorn Pan Bread) and the focaccia was airy and flavorful. All of our cocktails were perfect complements to the food. Our table ordered: Drinks -Not So Old Fashioned -Turkish Delight -Blackberry and Elderflower Mule Food -Classic Burger - Chicken Bahn Mi Sandwich - Coconut Curry Bowl Everyone said they would order their dishes again and left feeling very satisfied in terms of proportions. We had a little one with us and the server, Tonya, deserves a shout out for being so amazing with her. (They do have Kid's Menu for those wondering as well as high chairs and boosters.) What a lovely find! We were staying at the Holiday Inn on Portage and we're in the mood for something nice for dinner. We walked to Gather along Portage then turned into the park. It's located in a conservatory. Even though Open Table said there were no tables available, both the lounge and the patio were open for walk-ins. All of the waitstaff were exceptional. The old fashioneds were some of the best we ever had! My husband had the pork tenderloin and I had the coconut korma curry. Everything was excellent! The curry was spiced pleasantly warm. He had the chocolate brownie for dessert and I had the pavlova. Again, excellent flavors! Both desserts were nice and light. Strongly recommend this place. A gem! read more

The food flavors were very good. The menu selection was sparse, with esoteric selections. For my diet, requiring low carbs, high protein, there were few things to choose from. I had to order 2 small plate items to get a meal. The selection for salads and veggies was slim. Don't go there if you want large servings, while it was adequate, you won't have leftovers. The scallops risotto dish had just three medium sized scallops. The place was noisy, even when it wasn't very full. The decor wasn't appealing to me. The service was courteous. read more

Found the food to be good, but what got me was the fact not only was cutlery not served with the meal right away, but when it came to the food it was in a smaller portion at a very high price. But also, found considering this restaurant presented itself to be a high-upper class dining it isn't near the expectation you'd assume as servers tended to struggle here terribly. 10/10. I had heard good things about this restaurant for a while but hadn't had the chance to try it for myself until recently. I have so much to say, but I'll keep it short. The patio had really comfortable seats and was spaced very nicely. The food was amazing!. I think I had the Octopus escabeshe as an appetizer, which I shared with some friends and then the Coconut Korma Curry for myself which was easily the best thing I've tasted in a while. The food gets a 10/10 as well in my book. If i remember correctly i had the Black Currant and the Blackberry and Elderflower Mule for drinks which were also great!. Overall a great experience that i'm glad i got to experience with my friends as well. WIll definitely be coming back soon!.
