By our booth - week after Easter

Ok. This is not a Gastro pub. A Gastropub is a specific kind of PUB. The word pub implies beers. Like more than one or even more than a few on tap! It also implies a certain ambience. They had one beer on tap when I visited. Fortunately, it was a hazy IPA, which I do like The food was good - yes I could even say the food itself could have earned the label GASTRO from the special menu items that were available. But the PUB part itself was seriously missing. We ordered from the kids menu as remember we were going for Gastpub type food. And other items on the menu seemed more special. We got chicken tenders and fries ...typically with a Gastropub it is more specialized local fresh but still pub type fare Also, the ambience. It was more shabby chic girlfriend come to tea or coffee vibe. GATHER as the name should have been a clue - especially with the lovely font. Again, don't get me wrong - this place was good but NOT a Gastropub. Service was also ok - really, not trying to be harsh but it was a bit underwhelming. We appreciated that they let us order from the kids menu that was great as we wanted chicken tenders and fries. (Remember we were shooting for a gastropub)

The service was excellent and the food is some of the best in Yelm!!! Love the changes they have made to the menu.... Bobby and Pepsy are awesome..... We always look forward to going back....

This place is nothing short of amazing. I can't believe how good the food is here I've only come for breakfast but it's all been really super good excellent food everyone smiles the owner is amazing he can't ask for anything better it really is that good I hope to go soon for the dinner . Lots of happy faces and excellent customer service.

Schnitzel breakfast

Went here for breakfast on a weekend. Few people here, no wait. We actually had thought they had closed/forgotten about them. Ordered the schnitzel breakfast special (basically a pork "chicken fried steak"). It was fantastic. Crispy, covered in very meaty gravy. Home fries were perfect. Bacon delicious. I also ordered a Bloody Mary and was just a touch disappointed in it. No salt on the the rim, no accoutrements, no discernible added special spices. Just a glass with vodka and Bloody Mary mix from a bottle, is what it tasted like. Meal itself was a touch more pricy than other local joints but not significantly so, and high quality food and service. Will be back but will save my $ and make breakfast cocktails at home!

We've eaten here several times over the years, this was the first time we eat dinner here. Fam. Let me tell you, the very reasonable lunch size portions? They're significantly bigger on the dinner menu. Almost disturbingly so Being able to get a selection of interesting regional beers is always a draw, tonight was no exception. And the pretty good lunch menu is expanded for the dinner hour - as well as the portion sizes being expanded. I ordered the fish and chips, my partner ordered the bar steak (which was New York strip), and her daughter ordered the salmon burger with fries. Because it was a special, we also got a giant order of poutine. Despite being in almost at closing, the service was absolutely spectacular. We very nearly had the place to ourselves, so the overall vibe was very homey and welcoming. As noted, the portions were enormous. I opted to finish my fish at the expense of the chips. My partner wound up with a significant take home portion as did her daughter. Couldn't possibly have been happier about our decision to stop in. Since we seem to have a new Greener in the family, I'm sure that we will be in Olympia significantly more frequently. And frankly, I am pretty happy about that, just based on being able to stop in here on the regular again.

Pros: Chill lounge/sitting area at the front corner with sofas, a low bar (accessibility friendly) and board games. Big tables to accommodate groups and various bar seating. Large brewery menu screens with large range and the food looked good. Tbh we came for brews so can't comment on food. The Wildman Beer brand was so-so. Some better than others! Cons: FOH staff interaction. Why we love pubs/breweries is because of the chill, friendly, conversational flow of FOH; their knowledge of the beers and/or cocktails, their passion for sharing it with new customers so they come back again and again ... this vibe fell short at Wildman. TL;DR Good for a basic group of people looking for a brewery experience in town with room for large groups. But when I saw that they opened up a location in Olympia and Steve and I were going to Olympia for a show it made perfect sense to go to this new location. Downtown where our show was is super walkable and this brewery is right there. When we went in what escaped my attention at the Raymond location was that I was particularly impressed with their own mead selection. And the mead did not disappoint in the slightest. The first mead I had was their Oak Aged Classic Mead. Such fantastic balance in body and the oak flavor was truly impressive! I got another mead from the list, the Sneaky Bastard Meer. It's called meer I believe due to the five different kinds of hops they put into it. Great floral and honey flavored highlights! Our experience here was excellent! Steve enjoyed his drink selections as well! Definitely returning for more mead enjoyment!

First, our server, Zach (unsure of spelling) was wonderful. So friendly and attentive and had good recommendations for what to order. The food was so delicious! The wagyu burger was delicious and the fries were so perfectly crispy. Drinks were wonderful and they have a great full bar selection. I am not typically a carrot cake person because don't like raisins or nuts in my dessert. The flavor was great and the frosting wasn't too sweet. Oftentimes I have tried to order items from the menu only to be told, "sorry we're out" of every item. One time I chose four items one right after another. They were out of all of them. I would make some changes when ordering in the future. We also tried the Brisket Potato Skins...a bonus that they are cooked with tallow, but the brisket was a little on the dry side. Service for drinks was a little slow and our waitress seemed a little off. She was friendly, but not much attention to detail. We would definitely return. Interested in trying more of the menu. On our most recent visit we tried the nachos, and they were honestly the best nachos I've ever had. The cheese sauce is amazing- not some gross canned stuff. Dirty Oscar's Annex - Disappointing Experience on 6th Ave…read more We came in as a group of seven, and unfortunately the experience went downhill quickly. First, the service was poor and disorganized. One of my friends arrived early and ordered her drink, but it didn't arrive until after I had already received mine -- even after she asked twice. We also had to wait far too long for basic things like napkins and forks because we weren't given enough for everyone. The most frustrating part, however, was the automatic gratuity. At no point were we informed -- verbally or on the menu -- that parties of 6 or more are charged an automatic 20% gratuity. We only discovered it by carefully reviewing our checks. And to make matters worse, the so-called "20%" was not actually 20%. It came out to 24.1%. When we questioned it, the person who said she was the manager claimed "the computer does it automatically." We are a table full of teachers -- and the math was definitely not mathing. We understand and respect gratuity for large parties, especially when the service is great or when it's clearly communicated. But charging more than the stated percentage crosses from poor service into a billing integrity issue. To add to the frustration, there is also a credit card processing fee, which again was not clearly disclosed on the menu and only appeared at the bottom of the receipt. This absolutely should be visibly posted before ordering. They did offer to refund some of the charges, but we declined because it would have taken additional time and we had an event to get to -- and more importantly, it doesn't resolve the core issue of lack of transparency. She also gave each of us a $10 gift card, but again, that doesn't resolve the issue. And honestly, what good is a gift card if we don't plan on returning because of such an awful experience? Overall, this was a very disappointing visit, and not one we would recommend based on service and transparency alone.

The food was just alright, but I was disappointed with what I got and was expecting more quality for the price. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Who and I was given a plate with a small handful of still-crunchy sliced bell peppers and zucchini that seemed that they had been in contact with heat for all of 30 seconds next to a pile of potatoes that were cold from sitting. The chicken breast was just meh, not very thick, not very moist, not very seasoned, not very much of it. Small amount of sliced prosciutto on top. I just think for $30 this was a ripoff by at least 1/3 of the price; I would expect an actual chicken cordon bleu at that price instead of this quick-service deconstruction. The blackberry mojito I ordered for I think $15 tasted pretty good but was missing the presence and flavor of any alcohol so there was no complexity, just ended up being a $15 refreshing fruit drink. My husband ordered an appetizer (Sirloin Diablo) for $27 and got a small bowl of steak tips submerged in a barely spicy (Diablo?) cajun cream sauce like a soup surrounded by some painfully plain, thin, unseasoned, boring grilled bread. It's not bad or very good by any means and just wasn't his thing, but charging almost $30 for that? At their prices and the way they are presented I was expecting a really satisfying dinner but walked away feeling like I would've been just as happy eating some standard fare at a local diner for half the cost.
