So we were in the Clermont area on a Sunday, and decided to try out Frank and Burger, but alas, it was closed. No problem, there is a Gators right across the street...cool I am a fan of Gators in general...but definitely not this one... Came here last week for all you can eat wings. They offer wings in breaded fried, unbreaded fried, and grilled varieties with about 15 different sauce options. Everything I had was delicious. They also had a good deal on pitchers of beer. Service was good and I was very satisfied. My only issue was that even the hottest wing sauce wasn't hot at all. We also ordered gator bites to start with and they were nothing to write home about. Heavily fried and greasy. There's literally no food presentation here. The place smells a little mildew-y and has green carpet that looks like it hasn't been changed out since the 80's. I'm also PRAYING that they keep their kitchen cleaner than their restrooms because it looked like those had been ignored for a few days. Unfortunately went here on a Tuesday night, and it was pretty dead inside. We were seated, and waited for a server for 15 minutes. We ordered everything at once because we'd waited so long, we ordered mozzarella sticks, boneless wings, fries, and bone in wings. The wings-both boneless and bone came out cold as if the wing sauce they'd been tossed in had been sitting in the fridge for an extended period of time. The fries were clearly the bottom of the basket, all small pieces, over fried, and stale. We waited for the server to come back, but she didn't come back for 15 minutes. I finally went to the manager to talk to her about the food, and she offered to remake the food or give us a dessert. At this point we were over the terrible service and the state of the food, and I requested to only be charged for the food that was eaten. The server took 10% off of the bill, which was not at all comparable to what we ate. I came to this location a few years ago and I didn't have this issue, just steer clear (or rather go to a different location) if you are looking for a good experience at a Gators. Eh. It's okay but it used to be sooooo much better. We all felt that way pretty much. It was just food. Great place to get a beer and watch a game, maybe a few wings but that's about it. Service was sloooow and getting drink refills was a little painful. The shrimp were undercooked and the 5 wings consisted of 4 drums and 1 flat, 3 of the drums were icky texture so that was kind of a no go. My daughter's wings were good. A friend & I have been to this location a few times with good service & food. Last night we brought our spouses & another couple to dinner here. Our waitress Morgan was personable & efficient. Happy hour 2 for 1 Margaritas were bad. Tasted like straight mix & no tequila. When we asked about it we were told that's the way it is & we could pay for a shot if we wanted. For sports bars this isn't my favorite place to go but it's close by and they do a great all you can eat wing special on Monday nights. The whole place is decked out in wood paneling with booths, tables and high tops. There is carpet in some areas but each time I've been here it looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in days. There are many TVs but they are not very large. I like that they will change the channels for you! The service is hit or miss. I will say that our waitress was very good this time around and knowing we were doing the wings she made sure to ask us often if we wanted to put another order in. We ordered beer in one of the 100+ ounce "pitchers" which is great! I wish more places had this to offer when dining in large groups and I like that they don't limit it to bud or Miller products so that we could get it with Yuengling. Again the all you can eat wings are a huge draw to come here. They have a lot of flavors and you can mix and match each order. I love the sweet Thai chili! But with it being all you can eat they use really small wings and could definitely use more sauce. My husband and I went to Gators Dockside for lunch this past Sunday afternoon. He order a buffalo chicken wrap and I ordered their chicken honey mustard sandwich. The service wasn't great. We saw our waitress maybe two times? It wasn't even busy. There was more empty tables then full ones. We sat there and waited 35mins for our food and when we got it, It was brought by a different waitress... which was weird because like I said, it wasn't even busy and I think we were her only table. So wtf? Anyways.. I cut my sandwich in half and began to eat. My husband looked at me with wide eyes and said "SPIT THAT OUT! " I got freaked out and spit it up. The chicken was RAW!!!! If I hadn't cut the sandwich in half then my husband wouldn't of seen it and I could of seriously gotten sick. We were pissed. How are you going to serve me RAW CHICKEN when it took you 35mins to make? My husband recently had a bone marrow transplant bc of his cancer.. what if that was him? What if he ate that!! We placed our first order of wings (all you can eat) at 7:09pm, I know because I happened to send a text the moment I ordered. 50 minutes later, after complaining we received our first order. The restaurant is fairly busy, understandable-until our second order came out 30 minutes later. We gave up after the third order, which we just received 2 hours later, which came out with only 6 wings on it. The restaurant is half empty. It was our first time at this location and our last. We are previous customers of the UCF location which gets jammed packed but our orders always come back to back. Our server was great except she never brought us food (understand it wasn't in her control). Keep in mind, this is a table for two with a half empty restaurant. Very very disappointed. read more

Love/Hate relationship with Gators. Food is good for the price and the all you can eat wings on Mondays you can't beat. BUT the servers aren't that good. One would think that a restaurant decorated with giant stuffed gators and serving actual gator dishes would be more memorable, but at the end of the day, it was just an average dining experience. The food was fine, nothing too memorable. The burgers were on par, but not unique. Of course we tried the gator tail appetizer, which I was surprised to find wasn't that great. In fairness, it was my first time eating gator, so I have nothing to compare it to. But now I have the impression that gator meat is chewy and lacking in flavor. The restaurant itself was sufficient, with friendly people and prompt table service. The menu selection is decent with fair prices. The environment is slightly fun I suppose, what with all the neon and gator related kitsch, but in the end the colors and patterns made me think of the early 90s... which may or may not be a good thing. Revisited one of my old favorites when I returned to Clermont this week. Unfortunately I thought it had fallen off a little. They were proud to announce that "Gator tail" had returned (why did it ever leave--hello...the name ??) Anyway, I ordered it and it was chewy and quite gristly. The burger was good, if a little underdone. The service was fair. Not horrible, but it was a weekday mid-afternoon. We were practically the only customers. There were 3 of us at a table and we all ordered beers. 20 minutes went by and no beers. I finally got up and tracked down our waitress and 2 of the 3 beers arrived shortly after. I guess the cook can't handle big parties. I wouldn't recommend it if you want to eat. After we ate we walked around a little as we were heading to our car the manager came out to ask about our review. He asked us to come back so they could make it up to us. But tonight was horrible The food was good as usual but the service received from Randi was absolutely the worst we have ever had. Drinks never got refilled it took forever to have our "all you can eat" wings refilled. And after dropping off the check she didn't come back for another 15 minutes. Gators is a popular chain of Bar and Grill, and has a long list of menu items to chose from; including gator bites. The food is usually good quality and presented well, too. I had the pork chop dinner special, and for $8.99, 2 chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a large portion of broccoli, I was pleasantly surprised. Although my server was spread thin and wasn't there whenever I needed her, she did check up on me and everyone was very kind and kept busy with a smile. This was our 1st dinner while on vacation this past week. The staff was super friendly everyone from the hostess, server and manager. Great drink specials, and a good menu. Our server was very kind and thoughtful with our 3 yr old. Food came out fast and was great!! Compared to some other places we went to this week this was by far our favorite.
