Surprised at the menu variety here. I traveled from out of town for a show at the Sunnybrook ballroom and I was glad that there was actually a pub and restaurant attached. I had two glasses of Chardonnay, and the cauliflower soup which was outstanding. The falafel bowl was pretty good as well. It had a nice vibe inside. Only small nuances were that I was never asked if I wanted to order food. And was not asked if I wanted a second glass of wine until I was ready to leave. But other than that, everything was fine and it's definitely worth a stop, especially if you were seeing a show there. read more

Visited this place for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The menu was already attractive while reviewing online due to the variety , especially having vegetarian and a few vegan options. The restaurant was a little difficult to find, as it's all the way in the back of the property and Sunnybrook building... which I guess adds to the speakeasy vibe. Once getting in to the restaurant area, it was lively with people at the bar and others playing the table games available. We were able to seat ourselves and were greeted right away by our server. Our cocktails were decent- mine which was the pineapple gin drink was a little too sweet for my taste so I switched to a seltzer afterwards. For food we ordered the lemon pepper wings, old bay fries, the fried onion petals and the beer battered cauliflower sandwich. The food was great. Flavorful and fresh. My partner raved about the wings stating 10/10. My cauliflower sandwich was seasoned well and filling- next time I'd probably ask for some lettuce and tomato on it for a little added crunch. I loved the onion petals, a nice take on a blooming onion/onions rings. We had a nice selection of dipping sauces as well. Our server was very busy but still attentive to us and had great energy. I wish I recall her name because I would have loved to give her a shoutout here for her hard work. Overall great experience. Next time I look forward to trying the falafel dish and Mediterranean nachos. I hope this place keeps up with some vegan and vegetarian options because they will definitely have a returning customer from me. read more

This was my second and last time at this restaurant. First, the entertainment was SO LOUD! My friends and I could not hear each other and the acoustics were awful. In another venue, the entertainment would have been ok. I ordered the "special" , known as Marry Me Chicken, a popular internet dish, which was pasta with chicken, sun-dried tomato, and Parmesan cheese. I have made this dish myself; MINE was delicious. Their's was nothing special, and I would never associate this with a marriage proposal. It was more like a statement saying "This is bad! Run for your life!!!" It was bland, oily, and flavorless. There was an enormous amount of pasta, but four small pieces of burnt chicken, not even enough to make one chicken finger. There were three sun-dried tomatoes and a suggestion of flavorless cheese. This was more of an exercise of "can you find the ingredients" and "can it be blander?" than anything else. This was certainly not even close to being worth $20. My friend, who had the same thing, also had to search for the chicken and tomatoes. She also said it was flavorless and mediocre. My other friend ordered the burger, which was fine, not amazing. There was no bread on the table and a credit card fee. We paid in cash. I don't care if this standard or not, it's annoying and rude. Service was fine, but I don't go out of my way to eat overpriced, mediocre, flavorless food. Neither should you. read more

I was planning a birthday party after a Sunnybrook dance. Despite the fact that the food is greasy, stale and boring, it was convenient to go to Gatsby's rather than another venue. I aksed many times if it would be possible, given that the event would be on a holiday, to have some sort of light fare for my guests. Gatsby's made me a written offer to allow me have a birthday gathering with their food after a dance. I invited 40 dancers and told them there would be food after. At the last minute Gatsby's figured out that they had a more important and profitable event and -- casually, callously and greedily -- simply cancelled mine. Greed in action does not deseve to succeed, but who has the time to sue for this type of breach of contract. I can only hope this looser pu place goes down in a bed of its own fat. read more

went there during a craft show and once we were done eating and asked for the check the waitress asked if we wouldn't mind freeing up the table cause they had folks waiting for a table. unfortunate for her she told us this before we finalized her tip. the food is mediocre at best but definitely will not be coming back. first time we were ever asked to leave a table. read more

Wish I could give less than 1 star Paid for 12 VIP seats. Over $500. Could t hear anything. Was situated off to one sode the no speakers. 300 of alcohol and was accused of bringing g our own. After a couple visits, decided I needed to leave a review. Gatsby's is GREAT! The ambiance is comfortable and relaxed, the menu interesting, service is great and the food delicious! Tonight, we got the onion pearls for starters. They're were great and a very large order! Stop what you are doing and get yourself to Gatsby's! We have eaten at Gatsby's for a few weeks now while attending a show or bingo and every single thing we have both ordered has been nothing but delicious! Wow! The variety of options offered is fantastic! Special shout out to my new favorite, The Gatsby Burger, which might be one of the best burgers I have ever had! Fried pickles and ranch on top of a generously sized, perfectly cooked patty covered in melted sharp cheddar?? Yes, please!!! And the drinks! Awesome selection of beers and cocktails! The service is amazing and friendly and makes you feel like you are part of the family in their warm and welcoming speakeasy atmosphere. Can't recommend this place enough! At a another local restaurant, we had trouble with our reservation for 12 for a holiday party just before Christmas on a Thursday. I called Gatsby's, and the hostess told us "no problem" seating our party of 12 in ten minutes. When we arrived, they had tables put together for us and were ready to seat our party. Very pleasant staff, very accommodating despite our last-minute arrival, separate checks, etc. We've been there twice now with large groups, and the food is consistently good and reasonably priced. No one in our groups has had any complaints. To top it off, we all enjoyed participating in the trivia night after dinner. read more

We just found out that Gatsby's at Sunnybrook has reopened so we stopped in Saturday night. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great, knowledgeable of both the drinks and food. We had some apps and I had the Pottstown cheesesteak, a different spin with short rib on a local Philly favorite, and it was delicious. I really like the seeded roll it was served on and it was bakery fresh. We have already told friends and will be going back in the very near future. read more
