As a resident of the Boyd County Area for over 35 years, I can recommend the Gatti-land restaurant (Midtown Plaza). Great food selection. The buffet which includes pizza, pasta, and other tasty items is well stocked. The pizza which is very popular can run low, but they work hard to meet the demand. The salad bar has always been great. The price is excellent! The associates also work consistently hard to keep the buffet areas and tables clean. The restrooms have always been clean as well. Recommended!!! read more

I call this Appalachian dave and busters. Been coming here since i was a teen to blow off steam, grab a bite to eat and for relative bday parties. The staff is always friendly and the customers are just as friendly. One time, all the tables were full except for 4 seats at a party, they invited us to sit with them and even had some cake! We took a friend out to eat and asked where we should go. He chose Gattitown. The pizza seemed old. The dessert pizza in particular was crusty and had obviously been sitting out way too long! The salad bar was mediocre. Our plastic cups left our hands sticky. We were only there for the food - not the games. This photo is how the buffet looked at 12:30 on a Sunday. I got there before the rush of after church crowd (11:45 am) so I assumed they'd be making lots of pizza in preparation for that. But no. During the rush, the line was long, they barely had food still, (this was the entirety of what pizza was available). Even though there was a wait for basic items like cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, and cheese sticks it was fresh when you got it. When Rocky owned the restaurant, the buffet would be fully stocked and he'd have pizzas made ahead of time waiting underneath the buffet to quickly replace the empty pans and keep the lines moving and wait times down. The food still tastes amazing as always, the interaction with employees is always friendly, I think there just needs to be changes to the kitchen procedures in how the buffet remains stocked. We were there for a party, only had 2 hours to access the party room, but spent so much time waiting on basic cheese pizzas and cheese sticks to be made. Not even specialty ones. Those things used to be always be stocked and immediately replaced with almost no wait times. Maybe there needs to be more kitchen staff on the clock during those busy days or more food being made in anticipation of keeping things moving on the buffet line. I went there yesterday (july 9). It was a 2 star at best and that is being generous. The salad was watery. The cheese and ham was almost gone on the salad bar. The pizza buffet was a joke. Hardly nothing on there. The only thing good was the soda! Disappointing how down hill this place has went. Is Rocky still in charge? Idk. Workers all looked mad and it was a madhouse. I normally don't like buffets and like game places even less. I was dragged here reluctantly. And could have kicked myself for not coming sooner. The food is excellent, especially the salad bar. The veggies were fresh and cut very small so that they were easily edible. I also started noticing how many people were there without kids-- the food was that good. read more

i love gattiland it's a very fun place and it always makes me happy when i'm sad, but in an overall review: the food was alright, pizza was good as always, ice cream was good, only thing i didn't like was the fettuccine, which i get isnt their speciality. service was alright, the food that ran out did. take a while to restock, but i understand they can't speed up cooking times. the ambiance was very nice, with a section of themed dining areas for just about every crowd. read more

Okay So I've been here a few times...however with the Hepatitis issues going around I've been reluctant to stop for a meal in the Ashland KY. area. Food was fine... my issue was with an employee who came in to use the restroom as I was washing my hands. Well as I was getting ready to walk out of the restroom the employee walked right past me without washing her hands. Knowing this information I followed the employee who walks into the kitchen to the drive thru area. Another employee sees me and ask if I'm needing something. I explain to her what happened and her answer was. "Oh she's not a kitchen employee...I run the kitchen and have for years. If I seen her in my kitchen I would kill her"! 10 min later the same employee walks up to my table and says "No she's not a kitchen employee. She's at the register and we've all have our shots! (Hepatitis Vaccination) Plus they have hand sanitizer on the counter". Now I'm sorry but ANY EMPLOYEE NEEDS TO WASH POTTY HANDS! To me this is just nasty and makes me wonder what really goes on. Owner is a rude cheapskate. I had a large group come to this place and even though no parties were scheduled for the party rooms, the employees and manager said we couldn't use the larger party room. The only reason I thought about not giving 5 stars is the general dirty/sticky feeling I had about this place. Besides that, it was great value and great fun for the whole family. First, 3 of the kids ate free because of their age I guess, so for under $20, 6 of us ate all we wanted. Several types of pizza, fruit, salads, puddings, pastas etc. I didn't see an Alfredo sauce, but that would have been awesome. Soft serve ice cream was available for dessert, as well as two types of pies. I think we spent $20 on a game card, and it was plenty for a solid 30-45 minutes of game time for the kids. The younger ones didn't even need to actually play half the time, just the "insert coins" screen was fun enough. Skeeball, bowling, deal or no deal, checkers, air hockey, Jurassic Park, etc. were some game options, just to name a few. I had fun as an adult, so it's safe to say it covers a wide range of ages. When we picked out prizes with the earned tickets, the kids had a blast. We ran out before we could get lollipops for all 4 kids at the end there, but the lady gave the little kids lollipops anyways. Actually, that's probably what made me push this up to 5 from 4 stars. We would definitely return here on out next trip into town. read more

Literally dragged into this place because friend's daughter wanted to go. We visited on Saturday evening around 7:30. Place was almost empty. Pizzas had been on the food bar for too long...shriveled up slices, dry and didn't taste good at all. Servers were rude. NO ONE was manning the salad bar (we had to be served our salad due to COVID 19 restrictions). I can see why no one was there. We left. We each had 2 slices of pizza (which is all we could stomach). For my son's birthday me,my wife and daughter and son came here. There was another child who had a birthday there as well. They came on the intercom and wished the other child a happy birthday. My son heard that and wanted them to say happy birthday to him. I went to the counter about 10 minutes later and the worker said they will announce it in a couple minutes. My boy set there and waited and waited. I asked them again and they said ok and I waited in all about 30-45 minutes so finally I left and my son was disappointed. I know it's not something major but my son getting disappointed is major to me. In all his cost them a lot of money cause we went to this restaurant at least twice a month for about a year untill this and I haven't been back in over a year.
