Our first time was amazing! It wasn't busy so it was quiet and private. Ww love the decor, especially the art deco sconces. Our server was quick, attentive, and friendly. The food was all perfect. We started with a Caprese salad that was the best I've ever had. I make it home and usually prefer my homemade, but this is better. The tomatoes were ripe, the basil fresh, and that fresh mozzarella was amazing. The seasoning was spot on. The chicken Parmesan again the best I've ever had. The breading was crispy and well seasoned, and the chicken was juicy and tender. The pasta was cooked perfectly. My only complaint of the entire meal was the tomato sauce. It was pretty plain. I prefer some oregano and garlic but it wasn't bad. The Burger on Third was a great burger. Well done it was still tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. All of the toppings were fresh and crisp. Everything about our visit was perfect. I highly recommend this place

We went to celebrate a birthday dinner here, this was my first time visiting. They are going for a more fine dining experience. Competing with other local restaurants like the Fredrick. The outside of the building and even the inside aren't that fancy though so it's a stretch. The food however was great, just very pricey. I had the filet mingon and did a side of glazed carrots which were absolutely wonderful. I wasn't as much of a fan of the Mac and cheese. Dessert was the crème brûlée which was also very, very nice. Would love to come back again.

A nice upscale restaurant. The menu has everything from reasonably priced to quite expensive. They have a lot of carry out orders. I had the wedge salad. An excellent choice, so fresh. Will eat here again sometime.

Food was good. For the price servings were a little skimpy. Extremely busy so service was a little slow.

Great serving sizes. Good restraint for around here. I'd describe it as medium quality with good ambiance. Low consistency

The slowest Resterant I've ever been too. Wasn't servers fault but took 30 minutes for our salads, and over an hour for our entrees!!!!0

Bruno's Spotted Hare is fantastic…read more I stopped by recently with a family member while visiting, having heard good initial things about this restaurant. The space is gorgeous; it has the dark coziness of a lodge with beautiful, wild-inspired accents. We were seated in a booth near the window: the booth was comfortable but may be a tight squeeze if two larger adults are sitting on the same side (I'd recommend asking for a table in that case). I started off with an American Trilogy cocktail and loved it; it was surprisingly smooth and easy to drink while being flavorful. We debated appetizer options but went with the sourdough bread and butters. The butters were rosemary, garlic, and sorghum, and while all were great, the sorghum was a favorite. The bread was flavorful and nicely chewy. I'm always happy to see a vegetarian-friendly soup on a menu, so I ordered the beans and greens soup and loved it. It has a very deep flavor, yet the beans weren't overly mushy. The server (who was amazing) recommended some Tabasco for adding heat, which I enjoyed. For entrées, my dining partner got the fried chicken on the server's recommendation, and I got the mushroom pasta. The fried chicken was described by my relative as a crunchy coating with a moist meat; they called it "the best fried chicken" they've had. I tasted the mashed potatoes and can happily vouch for them, as they were creamy and perfectly seasoned. My dining partner raved about the home-style green beans, too. My mushroom pasta was fantastic. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were flavorful without being slimy or mushy. The pasta was hearty and cooked al dente. As a pleasant surprise. I got a couple slices of bread with my pasta, too; this time topped with some cheese and seasoning. It was perfect for soaking up the last bits of pasta sauce, as I cleaned my plate. I got dessert to go; it was the cornmeal pound cake and packaged conveniently (with the ice cream separate). It was delicious even at home; the cake itself wasn't too sweet, meaning that the combination of it, the ice cream, and the honey had a perfect balance of flavor. I will try to make a special trip here whenever I'm in the area. It's a beautiful, special addition to the local dining scene.

Not usually one to complain. But, First of all, the rolls were ice cold when they brought them to…read morethe table. Our waiter was doubling as the bartender and kind of unattentive. We had 4 different servers throughout the visit. We ordered an onion which came out fairly quick. A false impression of dinner to come. We ordered our food and I like my steaks medium, but this came out mooing. Like it had barely kissed the grill and they pulled it off to put on the plate. The manager came around asking if everything was okay, and I asked if they could put it on the grill a little longer. Which they did, but by the time it came back out, everyone was done eating. My mom had a sweet potato and it was old, reheated and hard, but somehow still cold? She also had mixed vegetables that seemed to be straight from the fridge and put in a ramekin.. Sadly, My potato was so cold it didn't even melt butter or the cheese. The best part of the meal was the onion blossom. It also took 40 minutes to get our food. And that was because we asked the manager why there was such a wait for our food to come out. I've never had such a bad experience with a meal at Barboursville location of TX roadhouse before. Probably will be a while before we go again. Worst $ spent on a meal, should've went somewhere else. We Still tipped because it's not the server's fault that the kitchen was SLACKING! 7/29/26
