Best F&C I've ever had. I've never been to the UK, but I know an expat who loves this place. They've got a good beer selection. I actually came here because they had live music on their patio. The food was pretty good, though nothing I would go out of my way for. It was a bit pricey. The beer was priced an average price. The one thing that got to me was the service. It was very slow. I'm not a fan of having to wait whether I'm at the register or at the table. I come here every Friday to take a lunch to share with one of my patients. The fish is always cooked well, is hot and never rubbery. The chips are very good as well and are the bigger chips which is nice. The price is very reasonable here, as I just paid $11 for a half order of fish and chips with two iced teas. I came here for the first time and ordered the Shepard's pie. When it came out, it was in a microwave dish. It was a frozen dinner they microwaved and served. It tasted no different than what you get at the supermarket, except costing 3x as much. Basically what you're buying is a resell of something they bought in mass. Went there last night for the second time in two weeks. You want the BOMB fish and chips, good service and cheap beer - come here! Amazing fish quality - all sorts of choices too. I did the cod, again, its just so darn good. The most amazing bit is its NOT GREASY at all. Every other time you get fish and chips somewhere you can see the oil dripping off the fish...or after you eat them you feel like you wiped it all over your face instead of actually consuming it! NOT here at CB's - i dont know what they do, but the fish comes out perfectly breaded and light as a feather. Great thick fries too. PBRs are 75 cents at Happy Hour and only a dollar more later. I think the beer selection is fine. Soccer on all the time. Clean and well taken care of. Yeah the servings of tartar are too small and you have to pay a buck or so for an extra (big cup) of one - but so what - its worth it. I hope this place sticks around. Im a big fan! Go here now. I'd give it a 2.5 if yelp gave half stars. But this in my hood, so must be generous. I liked the prawns. Great breading, very light. Buying any seafood in Denver often seems costly (this was $10 for a ton of fries and 4 prawns). Don't know the traditional recipe for shepherd's pie, but I know what I've gotten at other places wasn't as dry as this one. Also, they didn't give the option of cheese on top, which a lot of places do. Not sure if the potatoes were real or flakes; they improved with reheating and cheddar. The meat flavor wasn't to my liking, it was also kinda dry. Beers are decently priced $3-4. I'd go back with friends or to watch some world cup soccer but wouldn't say it's the best option for fish and chips in the area. read more

Oh my, what a find! Been here a few times now, and the cod is DIVINE!!! The breading is light and perfectly crispy. The fries are probably food-service, but they're so fresh, who cares?! The sampler platter was good too, but if you're gonna go for seafood extravaganza do you really opt for fried? They also have bangers and mash and meat pasties that I'm sure I'll try someday, if I can force myself to break away from the flaky, vinegar-y cod goodness. The decor is London soccer pub, and truly serious about it. Haven't sat on the patio yet. It's always full, so I'm guessing the Sheridan traffic doesn't effect the people watching too much. They literally have deep fried everything. My husband and I stopped at the Sheridan location that gets extra points for the great view of downtown and the lake. My British husband was like a kid in a candy store...he ordered the fish and chips, cod of course, curry sauce and beans. I had the half portion and was definitely more than enough. The service was great and the staff kept giving us extra tartar sauce and anything we asked. The ambiance is cool. On a tues night before thanksgiving it was rather empty but the place is cool enough to feel lively anyway. The food tasted great and we ate it all...but it felt a bit too greasy at times....then, I'm unfairly comparing it with beautifully large pieces of cod in the UK so less fried batter is involved. The curry sauce was great, the beans were ok, but not what my husband was hoping for. I know this location has London Pride on tap which warms my hear with memories of our trip to London (it was the beer of choice at most of the pubs my crew of misfits went to). So far so good, I don't eat meat but I have been addicted to their fries. They are thick cut type of fries. The price to portion size is on point, you can get $5 worth of fries and be literally stuffed and it takes a lot to satisfy my hunger as I do a very physical job. They cook the fries well, fairly consistent out of all the times Ive been with small variance here and there. Last time it was a little soggy so next time I will just mention to make it extra crispy. Like I said earlier I don't eat meat, but Ive seen other customers orders of their fish and stuff and it looks really good. I'd definitely recommend this place and will be back. read more

We dig this place. Great fish and chips and the curry sauce is to die for! We've eaten here several times and each time we walk away happy. Tonight, there was a mix up in the kitchen and we didn't get our food for about a half hour which is unusual. Bryan behind the counter was super attentive and not only got our food out quickly after that, he took money off our bill which was very cool even though we didn't ask him.
