    Hush Puppies ($7.50)

Second Review: Appetizer: Hush Puppies ($7.50 for 10). You know they're homemade when the shapes are not uniform and the corn meal is moist. No surprise that we order them every visit! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Entrees: - Fried Oyster Po'Boy ($15.00). Fried oysters are not everybody's favorite, but when they're done well--they are amazing! Great Po'Boy! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - Crabmeat Roll ($15.00). You know when a place substitutes fake crabmeat for real crabmeat. This Roll is the real deal! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (Psst! My wife ordered it and I wanted hers and mine!). Soup: Lobster Bisque, substituted for a side ($3.00). Ohh geez. I had high hopes. The soup did have some decent flakes of lobster, but I like bisque that is creamier and more thick. Maybe just a bad day, but it was just okay, so I'm taking away a Star. Service: Ash, our Server, was prompt, friendly, funny, and attentive. Shes great! Ambiance: Per my earlier review, the decor and ambiance is something you may expect in NOLA. Very nice and inviting! Overall: Per our earlier review, Pier 8 is the opposite side of Denver from us, but when we head to that area--we stop at Pier 8 Cajun Seafood! We travel almost 30 miles--you can make the visit too!

Searching and finding on an "impulse!" Happy I did! GREAT SERVICE! John is most courteous, gracious and funny. Most important John asked if he could address my Service Dog! THANK YOU!! for understanding about Service Dogs!! Dogs were a wonderful segue into a comforting conversation; John delighted in sharing his dog who attended his wedding. Awww, I loved it and took a photo just to show his thoughtfulness. Kind hearted service ensures people will return, we felt appreciated with no rush, breathe and eat (what a concept). John served me some tea with lemon and HONEY, how did he know? John is a conscientious waiter who knows his customers especially on snowy Colorado days! The food is GOOD!!! I was hesitant to have "fried food" it was GOOD, Aspen was the original tester - Gobbled the Fried Shrimp and Onion Ring. The nice size shrimp was succulent - tender with a crunchy crisp outside with a nice homemade sauce. The onion rings were LARGE! The onion perfectly cooked with a wonderful crunchy crust. Aspen eats my food, I can't get through a meal without her help! The ambiance: Very welcoming! Would be great for groups, family night or afternoon out with the kids. Welcoming to those who are mobile challenged, no fuss about messes as I watch John clean up after customers with a genuine smile. This is a Restaurant filled with choices and options of fish, old time concept that never died, THANK YOU! They have the bibs - plenty of napkins, wet napkins to clean up, NO RUSH!! Enjoy yourself and company. Perfectly attentive with humor. Really appreciated the common curtsy of sharing his dog photos, sharing a bit of his wedding moments, for I was in deep thought and required a bit of lighting up the day. The entire restaurant is large yet privacy is offered, very obvious this is a Seafood House by the old rules! Nice Touch! Thank you for your time and good food

Came here early afternoon on with my sister and there were only a few tables seated. Our waiter was so good and funny. He came over to ask if we wanted bibs and noticed that I had put a napkin there, we all laughed and he brought some over. I think that the amount is good for the price! The spice that they use are their house blend is unique, it has a bbq-y flavor. Not my favorite but still pretty good. The entire restaurant is covered with amazing decor. Giant sea creatures and TV everywhere. The kids will love it. I totally plan on coming back! Overall, 4/5 stars! :)

    Seafood boil (take out)

My first experience with Pier 8 was in December 2024 in which we did a take out seafood boil- and it did not disappoint! Having lived on the East coast I can be pretty picky about my seafood, so I was worried with location (Colorado) that it would be fishy and awful but it was great quality with excellent flavor / spices. We returned March 2025 to eat inside (4 of us) and we all did the all you can eat option. The website / menu says everyone at the table must order all you can eat but the servers said that is no longer true- but all four of us went for it anyway bc we wore our stretchy pants for this event. If you easily put away shellfish than this is the choice for you- it was SO WORTH IT. Unfortunately no pix bc messy hands, but dang. I was not disappointed and had no regrets about eating to my little hearts' desire. Don't be fooled, this AYCE includes appetizers, Po Boys, sides and desserts. Of note, they do have a limit on the amount of crabs you can order and there is no lobster, but everything else was GAME ON including steamed and raw oysters. The hosts and server also did a great job and were very attentive. Apparently if it is a birthday, there will be dancing shark situation too (it was cute and fun). Overall, would love to gourd myself here again.

Stopped by on a whim as we were passing by. The decor featured a fun nautical theme. I was pleasantly surprised to see they offered an all-you-can-eat seafood menu, which I would have loved to partake in, but we were only slightly hungry--not enough for all-you-can-eat. We will definitely be back to try that option. We ordered a variety of different foods off the menu. I had a seafood boil, which consisted of mussels, crab legs, and shrimp. The house sauce I chose was extremely flavorful and delicious. My kids had the chicken tenders, which they seemed to enjoy. I also had the fried oysters, which came with sweet potato fries and shrimp cocktail sauce. They were tasty, but I wished they had given me tartar sauce. My husband had the flounder po' boy, which was very tasty. My friend ordered a margarita, which was both tasty and strong. I had a cute little mocktail served in a fish bowl that included a small shark containing grenadine to pour into the drink. Overall, I had a great experience and will be back.

Food is always amazing nice and hot portion size is good. Price point is good. This last time I didn't care for something and that was on me, but they still insisted on taking a percentage off due to the fact I didn't care for it.

    All you can eat

I have to start out by saying this was a choice made by my son for his Birthday and I gave him a hard time. Well the doubt is gone now great choice and even better service. The food was delicious the family (Wife and Two boys 12 & 10) order the Double Double and it was delicious a ton of food. My oldest ordered build your own two snow crab and Head off shrimp Cajun spicy again delicious and plenty for one. I went basic Shrimp po boy but man it hit the spot. I would say overall the food was a 10/10 but to add to it the Service by John and team was the one upper. They killed it and over delivered. Highly recommend visiting! Great Job Pier 8 team

    Captains feast and lobster bisque
    Anna C.

Pretty mediocre seafood. Came with a group of 3, we ended up spending about $60 for drinks/food. The price point is a bit steep considering the quality of food. We ordered the captains feast ($65) which came with snow crab legs, clams , crawfish. The price is rather steep considering the quality of the crawfish and clams. We got the house special blend (mild) it was ok - a little bit bland for the seafood boil. The crab fries were pretty delicious - probably the shining star of the dining experience. Overall I probably wouldn't come back as the prices are high and the quality is mediocre.

Yet another seafood boil joint. The more these open up, the less character each carries. At least Pier 8's decoration has you think you might be visiting an aquarium. It's spacious, servers are friendly. The food was just OK. The most impressive is the act of bringing out the cajun boil, in a super inflated bag full of steam. I wish we had ordered more noodles (spaghetti) as that soak up most of the sauces and is greasy and tasty. Even the potatoes and corns were not soft as I'm used to. The sparkling alcoholic drink had my friend wonder what she's putting into her body. The Crabmeat salad is a good appetizer to share with friends.

Our server was great. Very attentive often. My daughter and I got the all you can eat. The fried oysters are delicious and oysters are a decent size. The crawfish were actually big. Clams were on the smaller end. The snow crab was great! We tried three different flavors, the house blend, Cajun and butter garlic. All were delicious! Food came out so quickly on a Friday afternoon. The atmosphere was pleasant and cleaned We definitely will be going back soon!

We ordered a pound of shrimp w/ heads, pound of snow crab and a pound of king crab with all in sauce and hot! It was very delicious, lots of flavor and very good spice level for my Mexican taste buds the snow crab was our fave! We also ordered the chicken fried rice and Cajun fries - the fried rice was excellent! Very well seasoned and I ate it to cool down my mouth from the spicy boil I would definitely come here just to order some fried rice. My partner was raving about how tender the chicken was. The Cajun fries came out hot and crispy we added the Cajun seasoning they had on the table and I really liked their sauce that came with the fries! Overall was a great experience, I would have appreciated a second refill on my soda but that's all I can complain about . This place will be my go to place for seafood now! I recommend %

I so wanted to be able to leave a good review, but alas, this was very disappointing. Asian cuisine…read moreand Cajun cuisine are both known for bold flavors and seasoning. Asian Cajun has neither. $20 for the fried oyster platter: the smallest flavorless oysters ever, obviously bought from SISCO, and a small handful of Cajun fries that I needed to dunk in ketchup, and if I need to use ketchup on your fries, that is a very bad sign, as I rarely use ketchup. I know from talking to the owner that the fries are $4 and you get a small handful. $16 for a soft shell crab basket: The difference between a basket and a platter is that the basket does not come with fries. These were small, overcooked, super oily crabs that tasted okay when dipped in their remoulade sauce. But nothing a Cajun or an Asian would say was seasoned properly. $50 for 3lbs of crawfish boil: I got the "all in" sauce, but could not taste any garlic, lemon, or Cajun seasoning. This is Prime time for Crawfish supposed to be the largest and best crawfish, harvested right now (but these were probably imported frozen from China; the shells were super soft and clung to the meat like previously frozen, cheap crawfish). There were a couple of medium to large crawfish in the bowl, and the rest were tiny, as small or smaller than my pinky finger. When you cook really small crawfish with medium to large crawfish, the little ones get mushy and are very hard to peel, and fall apart with the shell. $5 for added broccoli, which appeared to be frozen, thawed broccoli that turned to mush when cooked with the crawfish. When I got home, I added MSG and Old Bay seasoning to the bag, so hopefully it will taste better later. (I peeled all the crawfish there to make eating later easier and less messy.) You can buy a pound of frozen crawfish tails from Louisiana for $25 and get a ton more meat, much higher quality meat. $3.50 for a Diet Coke and $1.00 per refill. That is criminal pricing for the item on your menu with the highest margin of profit, and they do not tell you beforehand that refills are extra. And the waitress was so reluctant to get me refills, at one point, I had to walk to the counter to get a refill. They were not super busy, but she (the owner) was the only person working the front of the house. Three not very large sodas for $5.50 total... Circle K sells a 44-ounce soda for $1, tax included, and I am sure they still make a profit. Angel (the owner) was super friendly except for when asking for refills, but took a really long time to get back to me for anything. It was nice that she brought the check to the table and took my payment there instead of at the counter, since I walk with a cane. But no amount of friendliness, cleanliness, or nice decor will overcome bad food, especially at these prices.

I'll check this spot out again, whenever I'm in town and want a taste of home. I love that the owner is born and raised in new orleans, he brings NOLA to Colorado on a serious tip. The owner was so nice and down to earth. Mr. Henry was very welcoming; he felt like family. My friend and I started with the boudin balls, which tasted more like salmon croquettes, which would have been amazing as croquettes, but as boudin balls, we did not taste rice much at all, and no sauce was served with them. I was desiring some Crawfish ettouffe and they were completely out of that, so i settle for the pasta monica with shrimp, which looked nice, but was way too salty to enjoy. I tried to push through but if I had continue to, it would have burned my tongue. The po boys was great 10/10 the fried catfish was 10/10. fries was 20/10 perfect crisp and softness fillings. hurricane drink was a nice strong & sweetness, a ball was drop when salt was rim vs sugar, but nonetheless it was close to the best. I really want to try that sold out crawfish ettouffe next time i'm here. Thank you Josh for gifting me the blueberry cake that was very sweet!!! I love Mr Henry homemade signature dessert.
