I have taken my cars to Glenn for the past two years and we have four vehicles. This week I took our 2009 Toyota Corolla in for its 100,000 mile check up. Glenn was friendly, and gave me a call as soon as he knew what was going on. I am embarrassed to admit that I had a field mouse burrowing in my car and it had made a mess of my cabin filter. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! Glenn who is the owner of this auto shop is completely unprofessional and rude and unhelpful. I have a Grand Jeep Cherokee and the battery is not located under the hood. I called to get information on a battery change and he did not want to answer any of my questions on whether or not he could change the battery. And that it would cost a lot of money as if I don't have any money. He would not give a price and stated that he doesn't care that he works with AAA. And then HUNG UP IN MY FACE TWICE! If you want a quality honest mechanic Glenn is your guy. I called in for a simple smog check and he worked me in immediately to get it done. I was there maybe 15-20 minutes. I even asked about some spark plug maintenance and he quoted $200 lower than the dealership. Seems like a straight shooter and will return within the next 10k miles to get those spark plugs changed. read more

This is the review that I didn't want to write. Brought Glen my 1999 Toyota Tacoma to have all four cylinders redone and change some hoses and fluids. Glen boasted about being able to get the job done right for a little higher price. He has Photos on the wall next to all these awesome high performance vehicles that he's built so he must know what he's talking about. 2 1/2 months later Glen gives me the bill which exceeded the $5000 that he verbally quoted me. The bill was just over $6000, which I did not dispute. I mean, he did do the work. I offered almost $3000 in cash and asked Glen about the financing that he offered me when I first brought the truck into GDA Enterprises 2 1/2 months prior. I guess something changed and Glen no longer offered the financing. I asked him to give me a week so that I could find another method of payment for the remainder. A few days later Glen contacted me to ask for payment saying, "I have to pay rent!" I was able to pay Glen and he brought me my truck. He said there may be something wrong with one of my oxygen sensors. But assured me that the work was done and mentioned that he changed "hoses that were bad" and that I should be able to get another 5 or 6 years out of this vehicle. Needless to say I was back at his shop asking questions about why the truck was sputtering. The truck seemed like it wanted to shut off when I would come to a stop. Glen tested the truck and the codes told him that it could be a bad O2 sensor or some other code that Glen could not explain. Glen explained that he was getting the code but claimed he changed "the bad sensor but it's still giving me the code." Glen told me that it just may need to be driven. Me not being a mechanic I took his advice and drove away. Side note: My catalytic converter and both O2 sensors were replaced by the Toyota dealer less that a year before Glen got the truck. Guaranteed worked with proof of what the dealer did on record. My truck shut off on me during stop and go traffic in downtown Los Angeles. It was about 3:30pm and GDA was about 35 miles east of where I was. I made it as far Arcadia and was able to find a Toyota mechanic. This guy showed me a hose, right on top of the engine, that was cracked. He said this hose is very old and needs to be replaced... My gut dropped. I paid for the hose to be replaced and performance improved slightly but I still have to replace that O2 sensor. I'm writing this review now because I can't afford a new vehicle and it looks as though I'll be shelling out more money to complete the work that Glen and GDA Enterprises could not complete. read more

I found Glenn through AAA over 20 years ago. I have a 2000 4Runner, a 1992 Honda, and a 1985 Mitsubishi. Glenn has serviced them all for many years. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and diagnoses needed repairs accurately. He is scrupulously ethical and has warrantied his repairs for me on the rare occasion something didn't turn out right the first time. He has done the whole range of maintenance and repairs on my three old cars over the years from major engine work, brakes, air conditioning, transmission work to more minor such as smog, to interior and exterior trim repair. While many of my acquaintances have thrown away six figures on new cars over the past two decades, I just keep taking my old cars to Glenn, and all three still run like new. read more

Do not go to this rip off scamming place!!! If you want to be charged ridiculous prices for a problem with your car they can't even exactly diagnose, then come here! If you want them to not tell you exactly what you're going to be charged just to look at your car, then be shocked by the bill and have car held up before you can leave then come here! I've never experienced anything like this before. They quoted my husband $1700 to fix a problem they couldn't even pinpoint exactly. First sign of a scamming place. Then we wanted to go to another place for a second opinion, so they told my husband it's be $90 for looking it over. It's fine if he told us that from the beginning, but my husband signed something that said $0 on it, but apparently the fine print says he could charge $100 just to look at it. He could've just told us that verbally from the beginning. My husband has only one eye and is visually disabled, so it's easy to take advantage of a disabled person because you don't even have to tell them verbally that you will charge them and what the charge will be. Make someone sign something that day you owe $0 but in the fine print say you owe them $100 just to look at the car. Because they couldn't scam us out of $1700 because they figured since the car was towed, we'd be desperate to get it fixed at any cost, we'd agree to it, but we are not idiots! If I was there and could see the fine print, I may have picked up on the scam. All you have to do is be above board and tell us what's going on instead of sneakily putting it in the fine print, and could get a good loyal customer, but no, this place is really gross. It's places like this that give mechanics a bad rep. Please look elsewhere as there are good guys out there who will not resort to these nasty practices for a quick buck!!! read more

My experience so far says that Glenn at GDA Enterprises looks after the best interests of his customers. I have two examples. I went here for a smog check after my car failed at another location. First, Glenn took the time to find and fix the problem (unlike the first location who assumed illogical things and gave up after 5 minutes of checking other options). He also retested and patiently and went through all the details with me, a non-car person. And it was an inexpensive repair with no up sell!! I was so happy with this first experience, I took my second vehicle in for maintenance before a long car trip. Not only did he do a courtesy check on fluid, tires, and general maintenance, he also replaced my broken brake light free of charge since that was the only minor problem he found. These two experiences have bought my trust and loyalty. I fully recommend GDA to everyone because I think Glenn is honest, fair, and recommends what makes sense with the least amount of trouble and money. A couple good post here and while my boyfriend was out of town my car was towed here by AAA. Wow what a mistake. I thought it was my battery but AAA said it was not and that starter was not problem either it was something electrical. After my car arriving Glenn said it was not battery then said it was, ended up selling me battery for a grand total of $212.00 bucks!! 45 minutes later I was being towed back in with same problem, Car will not start. Says he will "take another look at it" Calls me later and says it needs starter. Since I had no choice and needed the car I ok'd the repair. When I picked up my vehicle the A/C and Heater no longer worked. What the heck. I called and was told to bring it back to see if they "bumped" something. I waited till my boyfriend came home who has 25 years in the business and is a ASE Certified Technician. He knew when I told him what he expected to find. My A/C relay was missing. Turns out it is same type relay that runs the Starter... So did I really need the battery NO, I had already been told that twice, did I need a starter, probably not... the relay was probably problem the whole time. Does the car run YES but did I really need to pay $450 bucks for them to swap my relay and get me back on the road. I warn you all about sweet talking old men with good stories! read more

I went to get a smog check for my car at GDA Interprise and it turns out that the car monitors were not ready for the testing this happens whenever you disconnect the battery it clears the codes or that you or someone cleasr the codes according to Glen. So Glen tells me to run the car for a day and come back for the retest, I go back get the retest and it passed but WHAT HE FAILED to informed initially me was that he was going to charge me AGAIN even though the initial test was not performed because of monitors not being available. DO NOT go this place it's a RIP OFF. Glen should have informed me initially that if it does not pass the test he would have to charge again for the retest.. He even accused me of clearing them. I do not know squat about clearing codes. Go to QUICKY SMOG on FootHIll they give you the opportunity to fix car and if it passes the second test you just pay for the certificate. read more
