I have eaten at Gejos several times, have never been disappointed.... Until Thursday night. I was Disappointed in MYSELF for not trying the pizza before now!!!! It was Soooooo good!!! This place is just so-so. I really wanted to like it more, what with it being locally owned. It's got a small town feel to it--the decor, one waitress, etc-- that may attract people. Decided to try this place because it's close to home. It was pretty busy on a Friday night; however, our server was kind, attentive, and efficient. She raved about the lasagna and said it wasn't always availabe so we should definitely have that. She said it was so delicious that she would pay for it if we didn't like it! The worst Italian food I ever ate. Food tasted frozen. I had eggplant parmigiana that tasted like it was two frozen pieces slapped with cheese and sauce. My grandson had fries and grilled chicken, which had batter on it. The fries were good. My son disliked how pasta was overlooked with chicken parmigiana frozen patties as well. A hidden jem. A friend reccomended this restaurant. First off, this is the most confusing parking lot in the world. When you are near the entrance it looks like you are entering an apartment complex. It is actually an "office village." Very odd. The restaurant is tucked away in there. I went in the place and was immediately greeted by the owner. We were given complimentary French bread and butter packets upon being seated. Our server highly recommended the lasagna and carrot cake for dessert, so I went with that. My god was it delicious! You can tell that love goes into every dish. The lasagna was cooked to perfection and had a perfect cheese/meat ratio. The carrot cake was decadent and delicious! We are in Colorado for the first time and were really wanting Italian food. The first place we went into wasn't what we expected so we searched and found this hidden gem. Other reviews noted that it was tucked away and easily missed so I made sure to hawk over my husband's shoulder and he definitely would have driven past if we hadn't had that tip. This is the most amazing place we've been in quite awhile- I'm still sitting in the restaurant and needed to write the review immediately. Our server was so attentive and welcoming, and she definitely sold us on the cheese sticks (incredible) and telling us that if we didn't love the lasagna she would "pay for it herself, it was that good" won over my husband. The portion was HUGE and so good. I ordered fettuccine alfredo which was also so delicious and I have enough left over for an entire meal. My mom got eggplant parmesan and was completely floored by the homemade red sauce. My 6 year old son is SUPER picky about his pizza and rated it a 12/10. Service, atmosphere, and most importantly the food!! We ordered the Italian nachos to start, which were different than we expected but still very good. This place has great Italian food! I like the eggplant entries. I usually go for the meatball. My favorite appetizer is the pizza egg rolls. I will warn they can be spicy. Their pizza is definitely made to order. They will allow different toppings on half of a pizza. I highly recommend the pizza freaks for dessert. Pizza freaks are pizza dough with sugar. This is not authentic Italian cuisine, this is more of a local family owned Olive Garden with a bit of a sports bar feel! They have multiple Tvs and games on all the time! Great food that is filling, but not greasy...we ate a large meal and didn't feel yucky afterwards! Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating, offered spectacular service and asked for real, honest feedback from us from the get-go! I ordered the Italian combo plate, but they were out of ravioli, so she said she could sub something else, recommending the eggplant Parmesan. I've never had eggplant before, but I decided to just go with it as she said that generally, eggplant can be squishy and bitter, but theirs was not like that at all. This dish is AMAZING! I've been driving by this GeJos several times a day for the past 20 years or so but had never stopped in until this weekend. The menu doesn't offer many choices, but the food we ordered was really good. The service was fast, attentive, and friendly. It's clear that GeJos has a very loyal following and the many folks dining there that night all seemed to know one another.
