I cannot say enough good things about Jay and the team at Elliott Automotive. I brought my car in…read morewith a highly unusual, high-stakes issue-my serpentine belt had actually been sucked directly into the oil pan. It was an incredibly complex and stressful job, but despite having a shop full of other customers and high demand, Jay treated my vehicle as a top priority. What sets Jay apart is his absolute refusal to cut corners. I know for a fact that another mechanic likely would have given up, or offered a quick, subpar patch job that would have ruined the long-term driving experience. Jay took the extensive time required to properly diagnose the root problem and meticulously resolve it so the car drives perfectly. To top it all off, he was incredibly fair on the final price, even knowing how much extra labor and stress went into this repair. If you want an honest, brilliant mechanic who genuinely cares about the safety and performance of your vehicle, go see Jay at Elliott Automotive. They have earned my customer loyalty for life!

It was jarring and strikingly unprofessional…read more Redirections such as "I think we got off on the wrong foot" and "I am not making any statements on your character, I am making an 'i' statement" were repeatedly unsuccessful. Again this is someone whose shirt i complimented, with whom both of us had been cordial, but could not be talked into a calm state. All of this because i leveled with him and expressed nebulously aimed frustration over a job that didn't last for the drive home, as the explanation for why i was asking for a redo. I asked him, "i mean objectively, you can understand why I would expect it to last till i reached home two miles away?". His rumination on the phrase "i felt ripped off" in response to the crashwrap beginning to peel off 0.5 miles from the facility was self-driven. That being said, why even recommend this as a temporary fix if I can't drive home with it? I would've liked it done right the first time and that's fair to express. We don't have to agree or see eye to eye and it's his right to feel I'm overly difficult. It was suggested that I should've cleaned my car first, not that they should've wiped it down the first time before applying wrap. (The car wasn't in the shop to have any crashwrap applied, so why would I have wiped it?) Ultimately I paid $104 to get an issue diagnosed and temporary tape put on the sunroof. I'm frustrated that I'm out $100 and the issue is not any closer to being fixed. The technician himself was amiable and communicative and the owner is also a pleasant man to work with. That being said this experience has burnt this spot for me. Having a disagreeable person work for you isn't a dealbreaker but maybe don't place him front of house.

I brought my 2015 Audi A7 to this shop for a coolant leak/overheating issue and ultimately spent…read morearound $3,000 on repairs including water pump-related work, belt/tensioner, hoses, diagnosis, etc. Initially, the staff seemed knowledgeable, and I appreciated that they identified an active coolant leak. However, after getting the vehicle back, the car continued losing coolant rapidly -- even while sitting parked overnight. I also experienced smoke from the exhaust at startup and additional oil leakage concerns after the repair. What became frustrating for me was the diagnostic process afterward. Once I returned with continued coolant loss concerns, the conversation shifted almost immediately toward "internal engine damage" and engine replacement, despite no combustion leak test, leak-down test, or follow-up compression testing being performed to confirm catastrophic engine failure. I understand overheating can potentially damage an engine, and I'm not disputing that possibility. My issue is that I did not feel there was enough confirmed diagnostic evidence presented before recommending something as major and expensive as an engine replacement. I also physically observed dried coolant residue and evidence of external coolant spray/leakage around the engine bay, and the vehicle was still losing coolant while parked and not running, which I felt deserved further external leak investigation before jumping to the conclusion of full engine replacement. To be fair, the staff did communicate concerns about possible overheating damage from the beginning. However, I left feeling more pushed toward a worst-case scenario than guided through a complete and confirmed diagnosis process. At minimum, I would strongly recommend that future customers request: combustion/block testing compression/leak-down testing and clear confirmation of leak sources before agreeing to major engine replacement recommendations.

Realize that this was my baby who has been there for me and seen so many wonderful adventures. Besides my wonderful children it's the only thing left I have from a previous marriage. I equate this experience to an ER visit. The office manager phoned me back to give me the Dr's findings. As feared, The transmission was DOA. Parts were scarce. The"good news was that the baby could be saved for a mere $5,000.00. I was stunned and could not breathe. I went into denial and various other stages of grief and asked If I could think it over. Honestly, I should have called them back much faster than I did. Life is tough and I'm doing my level best. I was contacted by a gruff office manager who had mistaken me as a deadbeat not as a "grieving parent". I was shocked by the tone and inflexibility and was then ordered to get my vehicle immediately of it would be towed. No options were offered to me. I paid the surgeon 100 plus dollars who then quickly dismissed me as the perceived deadbeat and briskly hung up. The solution, I'd recommend that some kind of sensitivity training be mandated just so the office manager would have an opportunity to begin to heal and feel better.
