Before choosing Gearhead, we looked at reviews and just considered that the negative reviews were just those few people that didn't have a great experience. We were impressed that he came to our house the night we called. It was a great first impression... However, after my experience with them, I wish I could post zero stars. Honestly, I'm surprised I ever got my car back. 1.5 month expectation on the high end... took 3, and that's only because we finally had enough and threatened litigation. Other reviews I read sounded like I wrote them because my experience was the same. Ramon had excuse after excuse after excuse as to why my car wasn't done, and even after getting on his case for lack of communication, he still could not provide any updates without me calling. He would frequently ignore calls and texts, and not show up or be available for scheduled meetings... always with some excuse. When brinhing the car back to my house, his ETA of "be there shortly" turned into 3 or 4 hours later... again, excuses. Always had a reason why his word wasn't met. After finally getting the car back, he mentioned that the airbag sensor got damaged and he'd get that fixed. I definitely didn't expect that to happen... and it hasn't. Radio silence. And I have now confirmed that my fuel tank pressure valve is damaged. No word from Ramon anymore. He didn't pay all the car rentals that were incurred that he promised. By far, this was the worst experience I've ever had with a body shop. Oh... And there is primer splattered on my seats, and bumps in the paint job, and some missing interior trim. I would have rather paid my own deductable and had a timely and quality job. read more
