Very professional and knowledgeable folks. I feel lucky to have found them. I wish they could be my little secret. Fair pricing as well.

Transmission Super Shop - Cool car

    Transmission Super Shop

Found this shop thru Yelp and SUPER happy I did!…read more My car was diagnosed by a local mechanic to have a faulty transmission. I took my car in and the owner Joe was extremely helpful, honest and really knows his stuff! He explained to me the different possible scenarios and involved me in every step of his diagnostic. (I even went with him on his test drive! Super smart dude!) My car ended up not having a transmission issue but rather a engine misfire, caused by a faulty gasket. After being misdiagnosed, any dishonest transmission shop could have taken advantage. Not Joe! I saved a ton of money and he gained a life long customer. Also! He sends you videos of the repair process just like the dealer! Super cool!

When you take your car to a shop for repair, the best you could hope for is that the shop you take…read moreit to treats you fairly, does a good job, and they respect you and your situation. The last thing you hope for, is that they only want to get as much money as possible from you and they have little concern for you as a customer. I wouldn't recommend bringing your car here because my experience was bad, and I'll explain why. I'll also recommend the transmission shop that worked out well for me. I usually start any repair by calling a few shops to see if a shop can do the job and what they estimate the cost to be. When I called Transmission Super Shop, I talked to the Owner Joe. And He didn't remember that I had called for a quote about my coolant system months ago, and he had given me a quote on transmission.. The previous quote I got was $5500. And during this call he was quoting upwards of $6000. It was easily a 15-20minute call, because I was driving from Downtown to Santa Monica and I was parking in Santa Monica when we concluded. Most of the discussion was him explaining to me why it was so expensive. I could tell he was upselling me from the previous time we spoke. And it concluded with me saying, "Well I simply don't have a budget for that amount" A few minutes later, He texted me back, saying that he would do the job for $3500. I will include Screenshots. Already, I would consider prices that are based on the amount of money the customer has, a "Yellow Flag" if not a "Red Flag". But after discussing it with him, it sounded more like he was scaling the type of work to fit my needs. He was willing to do a repair, rather than a replacement. And seeing as how they are a transmission shop that specializes in that type of work, it made sense that they would be willing and able to do that. I said, I would think about it and get back to him. At the time, I was considering selling the car, and My lease was up on my place, so I had to consider the added costs of moving. Tough Choice. I did some budgeting, and Messaged him a few days later and he said that the price was only good for that week. Which, okay, that sets off some warning signals. Why would the price change in a week? Sort of seems like a tactic to pressure the customer into doing the job... And it was. But, I thought about it and later that week I asked him if I could bring it in on the following monday because rent was due and it would work better if I waited till another pay check. He didn't remember our conversation. He asked what it was about, and he said he deleted the conversation. I totally get it, customers come and go and you deal with a lot of people, but it wasn't the best customer service. You would hope that if someone gives you a week to decide, that when you call back later that week they would still remember the ultimatum that forced you to consider rearranging your life to meet. But as it turns out, that's not the kind of customer service and consideration that Transmission Super Shop Offers. It was inconvenient to him. He said it was okay to bring the car in on that date. When the date came, I actually texted to ask if I could bring the car in earlier. Once again He didnt remember. And he said it would take 2 weeks. Which was different than what he had said earlier. So I asked why. He no longer wanted to do the job. But you should read the text messages and get a feel for the customer service and get a sense of his thought processes and mine. Decide for yourself what you think of it. But I'll give you my impression and my takeaway, because that's what a yelp review is. An account of my experience of a business. As a means of helping other people with their big decisions when considering that business. My impression of Joe and the Transmission Super shop.... They want your money, they want you in and out. Don't ask questions. Don't be inconvenient. Don't waste their time. Every conversation was actually a negotiation. RECAP: 1. I called for a quote and he didnt remember the previous quote and raised the price. 2. I didnt have the money, so he made me an offer, but said it was only good for that week. 3. I asked if I could bring it in early, he said no, & it would take 2 weeks 4. I ask why, and he says he doesn't want to do the job anymore. But as a customer, I was always acting on the information from our previous exchange. And each time he didnt remember and changed the situation and seemed annoyed by my questions. In his mind, he's giving me a deal and I should just bring it in no questions asked. He wasn't understanding of my situation. For me it was a months rent trying to save the life of my car, for him it was annoying. When your mechanic is annoyed that you have questions, its a problem. HT Transmissions I…read morecannot say enough wonderful things about HT Transmissions Repair and Pedro. Bought a used car in November 2025, 5 weeks later, P0741 torque converter code, flashing D while driving. Between a shitty 90 day warranty and 1000.00 out of pocket expense, had a new torque converter for a grand total of 2600.00, that was reduced to 2300.00 and a 90 day warranty. 102 days, yes 12 days after warranty was over. When my transmission completely failed, 102 days after having it fixed, I was beside myself. I live 3 hours from L.A. and travel there often. I also live on a fixed income. In other words, now I had a car 87 miles from where I live, and 130 miles from HT Transmissions Repair. and no savings to speak of , to fix it...blah blah blah. I was quoted by RPM Motorcars, Sherman Oaks, same shop who put the torque converter in to begin with, but another shop was going to do the work....yes, cannot make this shit up. 6800.00 retail, but reduced to RPMS cost of 4500.00. 24 months /24,000 warranty. Or options 2 a used transmission with 49,000 miles, for 2200.00. And another 700.00 to install it. But said, not recommended. But would not put 24 months/24,000 in writing. Now, call me crazy.... I would have much preferred options to begin with it. I already researched this time cost of rebuilt transmissions, used transmissions and even remanufactured transmissions. I could have bought a new transmission for 6800.00 I had already been quoted 4500.00 from a shop in Ridgecrest. That is the average, higher rebuild cost. Then I really researched and found HT Transmissions on Fulton, North Hollywood. He's been in business for 31 years and has great reviews. From the beginning, Pedro was honest, patient and took the time to explain everything without trying to upsell or gouge me. Pedro and his crew, yes he has a ten man crew not only did a complete rebuild, he did it for 2800.00 saving me thousands of dollars. 12 months/12,000 miles. HT and Pedro took an incredible, financially stressful situation and turned it into something I could actually afford. My car runs beautifully and I have a peace of mind knowing I can travel, make my long commutes safely. Pedro and his crew not only take tremendous pride in their work. A couple of days after being fixed I noticed a rather large leak under my car, shocked.....called Pedro let him know what happened, that I needed to return home the next day..... He sent two of his guys to pick my car up, fixed it (it was just a loose clamp) free of charge. That's service So, if you're looking an honest, knowledgeable, fair transmission repair shop....look no further than PEDRO and his crew at HT TRANSMISSIONS REPAIR at 7325 Fulton Ave., North Hollywood, CA. 91605 818-982-1212 Thank you again Pedro for your integrity and your incredible work. Mostly.....for my peace of mind!!! Grateful

I found Albert's on yelp and they provided great customer service: diagnostic of my car and the emissions issue, clear communication, and transparent pricing. I took the car in, confirmed pricing, and got the repairs done and now I have peace of mind! The staff members are also nice and friendly! Thanks!

I was helped immediately with no wait time. The service was efficient and quick. The nice gentleman there, Albert helped me. He explained to me they would also check my car fluids, tires and make sure my car will be in good safe condition for my trip. Before working on anything else, Albert explained to me that my front brakes were at 10% so I had him fix that as well. I did not feel overwhelmed like I have before w other mechanics. Albert and his team are very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They had my car up and running in a reasonable amount of time. Hard to trust mechanics these days however, you can definitely trust Albert and his team to deliver 100% work on all car maintenance. It's a family owned business so you know these guys aren't here to up-sale you on services you don't need unlike other auto maintenance places you know you'll be getting ripped off. I certainly did not feel that way about Albert's Auto transmission. They provided great experience and I will be bringing my car back for future maintenance. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed with their service. They also provide towing services.
