Don't let the good reviews fool you be careful! I was having issues with my car not starting out of nowhere so after changing out both batteries in my key fob I had to call a tow company. Roadside assistance gave me a jump and explained that my battery might be bad but my alternator was reading 14 so it most likely is a bad battery. Got a brand new battery from AutoZone thinking my problem was solved. After having to get another jump I brought it to Pacific on Friday and was told I needed a new alternator and was even shown the reader that read 12.44. I explained what I was told just 2 days before but the mechanic who put the reader on my car kept saying it needed replacing. Another guy then brings me in the office to show me the part costing $881 on the computer and proceeds in a dramatic fashion to tell me it's expensive but labor isn't big so he'll give me a good deal taking it from $990 to $840 and they can do it today. I would've been insulted if it wasn't so funny to me that they would think I was that dumb. After getting the BS speech I let him know I'd need to call my brother. While waiting I had already submitted requests for quotes on Yelp and immediately took my car to Dave's Quick Lube. I explained what the issue was but after running a diagnostic he said it was electrical but my alternator was actually good. Recommended I go to Golden State Auto Repair so I headed there to get my car looked at. They found out a lever was broken something was draining my battery, fixed the problem and only charged me $250! Today was the 1st day I was able to start my car up no issues. BEWARE. It's bad enough to be overcharged but to not even give accurate diagnostics is insane. Not sure if it was me being a woman or black but either way this was a disappointing experience. read more

This place is a gem! Such amazing service so friendly and nice and honest that's what really got me the honesty. I noticed my brake squeaking and submitted a request on you for a quote. I got one. I told him that I needed all four of my brakes changed and four rotors. After they examined my car, they told me that I only needed two breaks and rotors on the front and not the rear. The fact that they could've easily taken advantage of me and did not show us a lot about the character of this body shop. I will 100% be back and couldn't recommend it less. I have a German car and changing the brakes or doing anything on it tends to cost more than most cars, and this place was affordable and fast and efficient dropped it off at 8:30 and picked it up at three amazing! The business is run by a father/son team Solomon and Alex. The garage is conveniently located near Lankershim and Tujunga in North Hollywood. The facility is clean and fenced. I have taken every vehicle I've owned here since I found this place. They are friendly, honest, and trustworthy. Their prices are fair and they always follow through on their repair quote. If they can't provide a quote when you drop off the car, they call with a quote before they start work. I get tires here too! Best experience I ever had. I had this nail in my Tesla model 3 car and caused the flat tire. I went to pep boys, but they don't do repairs for my tire, they said there is a form in the tire or sth. I didn't understand . The new tire is like $250 for the same tire quality. So I looked up at yelp and found this, they said they can repair for me. And only cost 1/30th of the tire. I chose to go to this place because of their 5 star rate on Yelp and after going to this place with my dad I COMPLETELY understand why! About a week ago I went to get my oil change at Jiffy Lube in Ktown and they told both me and my dad that my break pads are worn through AND they are eating at the tire motors. We were confused because it was changed 3 years ago- they then told us "You should get it done soon because you only have about a month left." We wanted a second opinion, and got a quick response from Pacific Motor Center. I easily able to made an appointment. When we got there Alex explained that he looked and THE BREAKS WERE FINE- they were 50% - 60% used and had more life to them! My father and I will from now on always go here for anything car related because they are reliable and trustworthy. They could have EASILY lied to like just like jiffylube did but they were truthful and even said that them checking our car was NO COST! In fact- they even filled up my car tires for free too!! Alex was very honest and reasonable. I came to him to diagnose check engine light/install a new OEM O2 sensor, replacing a cheap faulty one installed by another mechanic. A shop nearby quoted me at $160 just for diagnosis. I had my own part with me and Alex charged me $160 total for diagnosis AND installation. The installation cost itself was even cheaper than that of the mechanic that installed the faulty part in the first place. I dropped my car off around 12:30 PM and it was ready by 5 PM the same day. I went in for a check of my daughter's car because I did not know what shape it was. So Alex did a 125K service. Sparkplugs changed. Oil changed. Etc. Etc. The price seems reasonable. Better than what I have gotten for similar services at other places. The value was not in that work. The brakes were making a weird sound and I didn't know what it was. Alex told me that the sound that it was making was due to cheap parts. He could have told me we needed new brakes and I wouldn't know any better. Instead, he told me that the brakes were at 60 percent and I could use the car for a while longer without having to change the brakes. If honesty is something you value in your mechanic then Alex and Pacific Motor is a great call. read more

I love these guys! Listen, I am not a car person. I basically know how to put gas in my car and to take it in when a flashing light rears it's ugly head. So I know I'm basically at the mercy of whoever deigns to fix my car, and have to hope that they'll be honest. These fellas are not only super nice, they're honest, and they are VERY reasonable! Great customer service & job execution makes this the go to place! 1st off, I purchased this car from Russell Westbrook in Van Nuys exactly 1 year and 3 months ago. Fast forward to now and the car apparently has damages worth $1,350 according to the dealership. The warranty covers nothing and there's no explanation of why the car has problems when it's only been used to drive to and from work. There was also a leak that the manufacturers warranty did cover, which they started working on and fixed. My only problem with that is that they never told me until I continued to call asking why I cannot pick up my car. Obviously I didn't get the work done at the overpriced, unprofessional dealership. My fiancé brings his car here and recommended that we bring mine as well. The service was prompt, the employees were direct and were actually talking to me and not at me in jargon. As you can see from the pictures they didn't overcharge for the car parts like the dealership intended nor did they try to gouge my pockets with labor costs. I went in a couple weeks ago to get my car fixed and checked out since it had been giving me issues. When I first called I was greeted by a very kind man I believe his name was Alex! Anyway they heard my concerns about my car and had me come in the next day. I dropped my car off in the morning went over in more details some of the issues I was having. The drop off was easy and Alex was just as kind in person as he was on the phone. Sometimes when I go get my car looked at mechanics see me as a dollar sign because I'm not the most savvy when it comes to car repairs. Alex was upfront and honest and told me what they would be doing to my car. Through out the day as they found issues with my car they would call and update me on any new issues they found and let me know if it would be an additional price to the original estimate before doing anything to my car. Not only was my car ready the same day by 3 the price was incredibly fair! No over charging or over pricing or hidden fee's:) they even changed out and added new lights to my license plate and break lights! If I could give a higher rating than 5 I would! At this Family owned business, skilled experts perform high quality work that is to manufacturer specifications. I tried to save money by going to another shop, but my brakes were serviced incorrectly and my rotors were warped, which in turn made my entire car shake when I applied my brakes. If you're about to buy a used car and looking for a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) in North Hollywood, I would definitely recommend Pacific Motor Center. I was looking to purchase a 2009 Honda Fit with 96k miles from a seller (who was the second owner). We met at Pacific Motor Center, and Alex performed a PPI. The PPI took around 30-40 minutes and included Alex test driving the car, a six page report that detailed any present or potential problems, and a Carfax report. After looking at the car's history on Carfax, Alex saw that the first owner actually rolled back the odometer before selling it to the current owners, who had no idea that the car actually had over 200k miles in total. Alex also told me about how the car had a recall and would have to be taken to a Honda dealership. Spending just $70 and less than an hour on a PPI saved me thousands of dollars, and I would highly recommend coming here before you purchase a vehicle. However, I did not like how One America News Network (OANN) was playing in the waiting room as it is a far-right television channel riddled with falsehoods and conspiracy theories. read more
