    Meat and veggie combo!

This place is filled with warmth and food made with love. Everything was so delicious and Leu was a kind soul that made you feel welcome and at home. Our new go-to local spot.

Great food. Authentic Ethiopian with adequate amounts of spice and flavor. We got the combination for three dinner, and it was outstanding with some sambusas. Highly recommend. Filling for three. One of the best Ethiopian places around the northwest.

This is my first time at this restaurant and I was so excited to share an authentic Ethiopian meal with my friend who has never had this cuisine before! This restaurant is easy to miss from the main road and there is a small parking lot. We came on a Saturday when it just opened so there was only one other group, but it does seem like they have regulars too. The restaurant is clean, well-lit, and transport you into another culture. We were greeted right away by the lovely host/server and she was very helpful with the menu and explaining the different dishes. Even though there were only two of us, we decided to get the Gebeta Special plate that came with 5 meats and 3 veggie dishes on the iconic injera. (I am still eating the leftovers over 2 meals!) It did take more than 40 minutes to get our food, but it came on a beautifully patterned plate with all the fixings. The Injera was sour and spongy, the perfect vessel for scooping up all the yummy meat and veggie sides by hand. My favorite was the cabbage dish but everything was delicious and packed with flavor! Please come support this local business and try some bomb Ethiopian food!

Took a chance on this hole in the wall place and think I just found my favorite Ethiopian place in Portland. They give generous portions at affordable price and everything was delicious. My partner and I tried a bunch of vegetarian items. The lentil sambusas were so flavorfully simple and the lentil injera appetizer was super delicious. And all the sides in the veggie combo were delicious, even the collard greens, which other restaurants normally make flavorless. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful experience! It's a very relaxed atmosphere, and the food is out of this world. We had the Gebeta special, and we will be recommending it to anyone. Unbelievably savory and tangy, with an almost overwhelming melange of flavors. Both of us were really hungry when we sat down and barely finished the main dishes on the plate. Lot of food! Service was swift and friendly. We will be back!

OMG!!! Might be my new favorite Ethiopian place in Portland. We went for dinner on a Thursday night. You can choose between sitting at the bar or a table. Nice sized menu. Super friendly service. Full bar. Absolutely delicious food - gluten free injera!! Not many people dining there when we were, but lots of takeout orders being picked up. Parking lot out front. Bathroom in back.

The food was amazing! and service was astounding, there is a little bit of a wait time. However, it is worth it.

The flavor of the Gebeta Special plate was amazing and very filling. Every bite was "my favorite" until the next one.

We came on Thursday night so there was live jazz which was incredible. Let's get into the Food, (everything came out fast! ) Nokoss wings: Whatever sauce is on top is addicting! Very aromatic and very flavorful, enjoyed it a lot, will be thinking about these wings for a while. Goat stew and jollof and plantains: note, I am Nigerian so (I am biased lol) my expectations were very high. The Goat was tender, plantains very perfect, and stew on the sweeter side. Jollof wars out of mind, i appreciated the simplicity of the rice and stew. Poulet Braisse: 1000/10, seasoned, tender, filling. Definitely would order 100x again. We do not have this in Nigeria and I'm very jealous. Overall, as a fellow West African, I was really proud to see an African restaurant not only doing really well but being a pillar of the community. I saw they host a bunch of events from Jazz to poetry nights and etc. Well done to the lead chef and management, keep making Africa proud

They have a bunch of live plants, which are beautiful, and paired with cute hanging lights, like you're out on a patio. The food was amazing! My first time here, I hadn't eaten West African food before, and the flavors and spices were so nice. I also recommend the fufu. It's like a "bread" that you dip in the sauce. Very filling, and I took some of my meal home. My family also really enjoyed their meals. We all loved trying something new, and a lot of people had positive reviews of it. You can find parking on the street or there's a lot to the left of the restaurant just across the street. Side note, if you're wanting to go on Juneteenth, make a reservation! It fills up quickly.

Having never been before, and with limited experience with the cuisine, we were relying on the server to guide us. Here's where things went south. The server, who initially came across as friendly and sassy, went way too far. Every time he came to the table he became more insulting and condescending. Based on the treatment, it felt like it was because he was serving a table of women. I can both dish it out and take it, but this was so pervasive that it impacted the whole meal. The food was very good, and everyone enjoyed it, but because they serve the entrees directly on top of the injera, it just becomes soggy and impossible to pick up. Ask for it on the side instead, if possible

Still the restaurant had amazing Moroccan vibe, with artistic fabrics on the wall, couches, and cushions. The tables were low to dine like a Moroccan family, but it was difficult to maneuver around. We found out the dinner was a 5 course meal that included lentil soup, Marrakesh salad, B'Stilla Royale, a main dish and dessert. The soup and salad were decent. We really liked the B'Stilla, a dish made with sweet pita bread and very flavorful soft chicken. For entree I had the Tagine of Spicy Lamb. It was spicy as the name suggested, but it so delicious. The lamb was perfectly cooked, tender meat, all laying top of some vegetables and sauce made out of cumin, garlic and tomato. The Tagine of Chicken lemon and olive was also a similar dish that came with a big piece of chicken. The catch of the day came with 2 filet of fish, but the Sharmoula sauce was too strong, was our least favorite. At the end of our meal, we got the creamy dessert and Moroccan tea. The service was nice. Our server was wearing traditional Moroccan attire. She explained us the whole process and gave a nice brief on the history and tradition before starting each course. The dishes came out in short intervals, but being five courses, we were dining for over 1.5 hours. Paying the check was quick using the QR code. Overall it was a delightful first experience for me trying Moroccan cuisine.

Chicken with lemon/olive is wonderful. Soft and easy to pull off the meat. Lamb is tender, love the carrots on the side. Fish is cooked beautifully, didn't like the sauce that much tho, a bit sweet for me. The bread, appetizer, the soup are all big portion and literally fill me up. I was trying my best not to eat much so I could have my entree. The seating really throw me off. It's low cushion chair. My outfit of that day was definitely not for that. I had such an issue eating the entire meal. And because i was crunched over, all the food was kinda stuck at my stomach. Decor is exotic. You feel you are in a different country.
