I took my laptop in after finding it dead on a Thursday morning. I use it as my main computer with…read morea powered hub and extended monitor. I was asked if I wanted expedited service and of course I said "yes" to the charge of $99 since I needed it turned around fast. On Friday I called to find out the status and was told that it needed to be "opened" and if I approved (another charge) with no commitment as to when it would be fixed. Saturday was the tech's day off and they are not open on Sunday so no apparent rush to fix it. On Monday I was asked if I needed the data. I had originally said "no" because I had my data backed up on Carbonite. I asked about the Apps that I had and the tech said they would be wiped as well so I decided to save the data and apps. This was a $199 charge to "determine if the data was salvageable" by testing the SSD. I was then called and told that yes, the SSD was salvageable and there would be a $599 charge to recover it. Each step was a dagger because I needed my computer and the data/apps so I approved the charges. I finally got my computer back on Monday afternoon with a $1,600 bill feeling like I should have just bought a new computer and put up with reinstalling my apps. I got the computer home, hooked into my system and it worked fine. The next morning it was dead again. I hooked it up to a spare charger (bypassing the powered hub) and the computer was back to life. The entire problem was my hub charger! At no time was I advised that a charger might have been the problem and was instead overcharged for work that wasn't needed (probably not even opened to get to the SSD that I was bill around $800 for testing and recovery.) THIS PLACE IS A RIPOFF! I'm thinking of reporting them to the BBB. Update on 08/14/26: Eddy from ClickAway reached out to explain the services that were performed on my laptop. After his explanation I am now better informed of the work and charges and better appreciate what was needed to get it restored to working order. I updated my original rating based on an agreement to reduce the price of data restoration. I am looking forward to a continued relationship with ClickAway.

So glad I found QuickGenie and Garry. I had a small home networking issue and Garry and team were…read morereally the only business that would take me request and provide competitive pricing. I needed my home networking ethernet ports identified and fixed for my mesh WiFI backhaul (some of the terminations didn't work), as well as organized and label cables. Garry was able to do all of this in a relatively short amount of time. In addition, Garry was transparent and upfront - I thought I had Cat5e wiring to make use of the 1Gbps, but turns out I only had Cat5. Garry let me know and asked me if I wanted to continue doing the job, but gave me the option to not continue if this wasn't expected. I appreciate the transparency and honesty of contractors, so this was a huge plus. Also, Garry is just a super nice and friendly being. Honestly - friendly, honest, knowledgable contractors are a dime-a-dozen. Highly recommend QuickGenie!

I had to get an older laptop fixed because the CPU fan failed. A dignostic was done to determine and confirm the problem, and the diagnostic fee is applied to the total cost of the repair, if you choose to have QuickGenie service it. Gary confirmed that the problem was a dead CPU fan. I thought the estimate for parts and labor was fair and approved the repair, and the final cost did match the quote given to me. And the repair was well within the estimated timeframe as well Garry was helpful in answering questions, including questions outside the scope of the repair, and he went beyond by cleaning the keyboard surface and screen as well. Mich appreciated! The laptop has been running fine without any cooling issues, and I am very satisfied with the result.
