AWFUL AWFUL WORTHLESS TOTAL CRAP! If I could give less stars I would! Long story short I bought a car in Oakland. I currently reside in Sacramento ca now I called GEICO before hand stating that if anything goes wrong with my car I can tow it home and they said no problem. We'll my tail light went out and there was no place to buy a light for it plus I got pulled over stating I could not drive it on the freeway this way. So I pulled over in the wrong neighborhood of Oakland and tried to call there 24 hour road side assistance. NO ANSWER. Three hours later I finally got a message from 24 hour roadside assistance saying that they close 6 pm eastern standard time!!! 24 HOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CLOSED?! So I had to pay and independent tow company 500 bucks plus tolls to get my car home. Btw they got there with in 10 mins of me calling. The next day I called GEICO asking them to refund my 500 bucks I dropped on a tow home cause of there negligence and false advertisement. They said sure mam fax it over and we will cut u a check. I get a check In The mail 2 weeks later for $95.00 and that's it cause I didn't have it towed to a dealership? Ok so for all you GEICO newbies who got coaxed in by the Australian speaking gecko let me inform you that there 24 hr roadside assistance does not exist and even if by chance you do get ahold of someone and you do not have the money to tow your car to the dealership, they will leave you stranded no matter how dangerous the area is. They say it has to be towed to a dealership so people will not take advantage of them? WE PAY YOU FOR A SERVICE! Towing is apart of that service. They are thieves and greedy crooks that spend all of there money on advertisement and put absolutely nothing into there services. You would be crazy to buy insurance from these goons. Your better off flushing it down the toilet. Oh and ps GEICO pays there PR department and others to write good reviews don't be fooled they are crap at its finest. read more

We have had Geico Insurance for 12 years. Sure they have cute ads. Wait until you file a claim though. They are horrible. Their customer service is terrible and they do a better job of representing the opposite party then they do the their own paying customer. My husband was in Rio Vista as he is a kiteboarder and he opened his truck car door and the wind caught it and it made a minor door ding in the truck next to his. The person that owned the car got 3 estimates thinking we could just write him a check. He wanted a check for the average of the 3 which was over 600.00 for a minor door ding. We decided instead to call Geico our insurance company and talk to them first before filing a claim with them. We gave them all the information and they stated they would be very conservative as the guy that does their estimates is very fair. So we filed the claim. They gave the guy a check for 984.00 for a minor door ding and this is causing our insurance to double to the tune of 1200.00 extra per year! We have talked with 2 supervisors and one actually told us it was my husband's responsibility to control his car door in the wind and I have it recorded! They had the opposing party go to their Geico shop where they do business, got an estimate, and then wrote him a check for more than it would cost to repair the car based on the opposing parties own estimates! The supervisors don't call you back and when they finally do they are rude, and say they paid out the correct amount knowing they will charge us over many years to cover the claim tenfold! Geico may be cheaper in the beginning but wait until you really need them. They are rude, not helpful, and our out to cheat you and may you pay for any damages including minor door dings. The opposite party is laughing all the way to the bank because he doesn't even have to have it fixed or go to the shop where they got the high estimate and we are just screwed! read more

Geico insurance auto coverage is awesome. I especially LOVE the no deductible glass damage coverage!!! Love that I could schedule a. Appointment and file a claim right from their mobile app. A service provider (Safelite -their glass repair contractor) came the very next day, called and sent a text confirmation when they were on the way. It didn't take much time out of my day and they guy was super friendly. They came and found out they actually had to replace the entire windshield vs just repairing a crack. It was unfortunate they couldn't repair it the first day but that could have been taken care of perhaps their app allowed you to upload a photo to attach to the claim. The app only asked a question as to how large the crack was and didn't allow for more info or photos. Either way, a better claim app could have avoided that but I'm happy they sent someone out again quickly, they replaced my entire windshield, AND it cost me NOTHING!!! No deductible, not a penny. A disgusting company. A Geico client hit my car. I sustained minor medical injuries confirmed and documented by a medical professional, basic fender damage, and yet I am still having to fight for what is legally and rightfully due to me. Even after the company accepted liability, the Geico adjustor working on my case has lied to me on the record, pressured me into giving up the case on more than one occasion, spent over a month drawing this whole situation out, and illegally, further pressured me into using a Geico facility to repair the damages by stating that if I don't use their facility I will be denied the full use of a rental car for the amount of time it takes to get my car fixed. I honestly cannot believe a company and employee would engage in victim-shaming, when they themselves admit to their client hitting my car, and yet their actions are undeniable and intolerable. I was very happy with rates and service with Geico, although the $500 deduction always made me uneasy. I had electronic payment and delayed my payment online with no problem. I then logged in and changed to bill by mail, to make sure I was going to have $$ in my acct. I was successful making the change, yet they still deducted my payment from my acct, and when I logged in it showed I was still signed up. Their answer: We are sorry that happened to you, but we are looking forward to taking care of your insurance needs in the future. In order to get my overdraft fees refunded by my bank, I need proof, so the only way i can get it is by cancelling my policy so I can show them my refund. But I feel better going back to AAA which costs $3 more a month and has a much lower deductible. I'll not be going back to Geico. I want someone to look me in the eye when they refuse to help me. read more

I cannot say enough about the the positively refreshing and enlightening experience I had recently changing both my Auto and Homeowners insurances over to Geico. Nick Trisler in the Madison Ave., Sacramento office was so very helpful in explaining the options and details so I could make the BEST choice for me. Combining both insurances I saved over $300.00 annually, which really counts going into my retirement. However, what is even more important to me is that I have found an office where they care and have a wonderful personal touch with excellent customer service. AWFUL service! It took 10 DAYS for the GEICO auto adjuster to even get out to the shop to inspect the loss! THEN this jackass wants to save GEICO a few bucks SO HE TELLS THE SHOP TO GET THE PART FROM A JUNK YARD! OH, did I mention the "part" is a STEERING COLUMN? So, if the "junk/salvage" part breaks it could kill us all in an accident! ALSO, GEICO won't pick-up the rental tab for the first 10 DAYS - the delay created by their adjuster! This is a review for the company not an agent. GEICO is a terrible insurance company to deal with. They are petty and don't return calls in a timely manner.
