I had been a GEICO customer for decades with excellent credit and no intention of using my vehicle for commercial deliveries. Before considering a part-time delivery opportunity, I did what I believed was the responsible thing: I contacted GEICO to ask what commercial insurance would cost so I could determine whether the opportunity was financially feasible before ever using my vehicle for business purposes. I was quoted approximately $516 per month for commercial coverage. Because that cost made the opportunity impractical, I never moved forward. I never completed a single delivery, and I earned no delivery income. Despite that, simply requesting a commercial insurance quote--and never completing the application or using my vehicle for deliveries--resulted in GEICO deciding to cancel my long-standing auto policy. What was most upsetting was the wording of the cancellation letter itself. It stated as fact that I "use" my vehicle for deliveries, which is unacceptable under the policy. That statement is simply untrue. I never used my vehicle for deliveries, and I can document that I completed zero deliveries and earned zero income. As a customer of many years, I expected the opportunity to clarify the facts before such a serious decision was made. Instead, I was left feeling that simply asking how to comply with GEICO's insurance requirements before accepting any delivery work ultimately led to the cancellation of my policy. I am deeply disappointed by how this situation was handled and by the lack of consideration given to the actual facts. Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend GEICO. read more

BEWARE! Always triple check your statements when making changes online. On two separate occasions, they made billing errors and charged for selections I declined, road side assistance and car rental, and their call center was no help. I'll be searching for another insurance. read more

f this company, you can never get them in the phone and if you want to cancel you policy it seems you just got to jump through freaking hoops with this place . been trying to cancel since January it's now freaking JULY WTF !!!!!!! and if I could put a negative freaking number in rating this company, I would, it just won't let me!!!!!! A company van hit my car while it was parked. I was fortunate enough to run out and to get the license plate number. I called GEICO to get the information on the van. Geico said insurance companies in California don't have access to that information. I filed a police report. The police told me that insurance companies do have access to that information! I finally got the information from the police department!: GEICO can't be trusted! Also, whenever I buy car insurance I ALWAYS ask for full coverage! When I contacted GEICO to report the accident I was told I only had comprehensive and not collision! GEICO charged me for compressive but didn't give me the collision. If I could give negative stars, I would. I have been a Geico customer for over a decade. I noticed that their customer service went downhill during COVID, but I remained hopeful that things would get better once things "returned to normal." 4 years later, and things have gotten worse. They used to provide excellent service. In the past 4 years I have gotten delays, run-arounds and misinformation as to the status of our claim(s). At one point I received paperwork and phone calls that were meant for the responsible party (also a Geico customer). My husband was involved in an accident, and representatives continued to call me for information and status, despite the fact that I had given them his information repeatedly. The communication regarding our most recent claim was the last straw. After days of trying to get information, I reached out and was promised a call from his supervisor. He/She didn't call, but the adjuster called me immediately (as opposed to "after 3" as I requested). We were waiting for payment and he sent a text saying "payment is released, you will get a text message with a link." Text never came. No response to calls or texts. I would go ANYWHERE and pay 10X for a policy before I sign with Geico again read more

We been with Geico auto insurance policy holder for quite some time. We switched to them because we over their overall price is lower compared to other auto insurance (15 minutes save 15% or more on car insurance), and heard that they put good customer service as first priority. BOY were we WRONG!!!! Geico is bad---B-A-D----bad. Brand new car recently got hit in a car accident, and this company's customer service representatives were NOT helpful AT ALL with the process of filing the claim! We were transferred multiple times trying to setup a time to bring our vehicle to get repaired at the shop of our choice (we've been told we were able to do that)...BUT they are holding up the process. Their Easy Photo Estimate app is also trash...crashed while taking photos. AND the rep "was not" able to resend the link. So much for convenience. It's been 3 weeks after the accident and the company did not contact us back WHEN they said they would. So much for customer as priority #1...Such bad service, that we are considering switching to another auto insurance company. read more

Gieco worse insurance company ever, made a claim was rear ended had to pay a deductible of 500$ an a rental car and was never refunded even though the other person was at fault, any insurance is better avoid gieco read more

Do not TRUST JAMES DARCY AND HIS SUPERVISOR. They are liars, they have no idea what they spew out on the phone. Have been with this company for over 7 years. A car hit us head on, JAMES didn't do shit to fight for us, he also denies OEM parts because he's trying to go the cheapest route, after an employee had told us that we 100% would be getting original parts. When we asked him for his supervisors contact, he denied giving it to us. Our car is waiting in a body shop currently because they issued the checks to the wrong place. So we have to wait for their ERROR & can't get our OWN VEHICLE until the shop is paid. Currently in the process of reporting James Darcy and supervisor. Please do not trust these people and we will be bringing this higher up In the company to let Gieco know, these are the people who represent them. read more
