This place is such a small town gem! Beautiful country store right on the lake, and they have the best food, what's more to love? They have any flavor you can think of for ice cream which they use for their milkshakes. I ordered via phone call and the staff were friendly on the phone, and they were quick! They said 15 minutes and it was done right on schedule. For all the items I purchased I spent about $24 which is a great price! Highly recommend getting their desserts in their dessert case to try, the cheesecake caught my eye and I'm so glad I brought it home! So delicious! I love Mill Pond! read more

Try the brisket, tender, delicious and served in a variety of ways. You can choose to either eat outside looking at the view of the pond or there are tables indoors as well. If you're looking for fine dining with a romantic atmosphere, go somewhere else. If you're looking for really good food, with reasonable prices, this is the place. In the middle of nowhere, but with a nice view of a pond. Patronized by a lot of friendly locals. Open seven days a week (over 100 hours!). Owned and operated by hard-working and very capable Sheri. My friend, Demanding Dan, recently read about the MPCS in the Journal Inquirer. That article raved about their CBH. I'm hooked. Unfortunately, this morning, they were out of CBH. But Sheri mentioned they had smoked a brisket overnight. I had never had brisket for breakfast before (I guess I lead a sheltered life), but had to try it. With 2 eggs, home fries, and a buttered bagel. DD had a fried egg on a bagel w cheese and brisket. Both of us loved the food. Dining area is smallish. Food comes on paper plates w plastic utensils. But the ambience is "home-spun" Andy Griffith-like. Next time, I have to try the CBH. A little gem in the country. And the homemade pastries were very tempting....next time. read more

Very fresh ingredients. I had the Roma sandwich and it was the perfect amount of meat, cheese, veggies, and dressing. Service was quick and friendly. Had the Brisket tacos tonight via take out. You get 2 per order. They were pretty good but i think they needed a few jalapeños but that's just me. We love their sandwiches. I usually get the Turkey Avocado kicker (it has jalapeño mayo - are you seeing a trend here?) and hubby gets the Brookline or Steak n cheese. what an amazing selection of sandwich and wrap choices! After considering all the options, we opted for the Sweet and Smoky wrap with plentiful maple turkey, provolone, honey mustard and just the right amount of lettuce and tomato and the chicken salad bacon with lots of chicken and flavor. Delicious, satisfying lunch and the tables overlooking the mill pond were a perfect lunch break on a summer afternoon! We will be back next time we wander through the area. Shelves were stocked with lots of choices for snacks and drinks too, all tucked into the historic old storefront. In spite of the building age, it was very clean and had enough room to browse for chip flavors. And homemade desserts oh my! The slices of cake are drool-worthy! read more

The floor needed to be replaced about 30 years ago, it is cramped, old school, and has grit. This place is GREAT!

Cute little place. They have everything people in town could be looking for in a one stop shop. Grocery items, household items, homemade sandwiches, deli salads and baked goods. We stopped in for our first time last Saturday. I had a bacon egg and cheese. Only complaint was there was about 1.5 slices of bacon cut up and the egg was small - the filling didn't fill the roll. Husband did brisket on his and it looked more substantial he said it was good. Someone ordered an omelette on a grinder roll ... that sounds like something I want to try. The iced coffee was not bad. They had a machine that said mocha and vanilla but that wouldn't work so it was just plain coffee. Wish there was like flavored syrups or something there. Appeared to have a nice little dine in area. Appears to be some outdoor seating overlooking the pond too. Staff were friendly. Really cool that they have all the old school candies I always loved to see in local convenience stores. Looking forward to going back and trying a grinder or burger - both of which they have a lot of choices of! read more

This place is an absolute gem! I've ordered sandwiches and wraps from Mill Pond many times and they're consistently really really good! I'm originally from Maine and this place reminds me so much of the little country store I grew up going to. It's got snacks, a deli, locally made gifts and all sorts of little provisions. Great sandwich spot in Stafford CT. Ordered the brisket sandwich on a roll -- taste was great but could be more generous with the brisket portion - a little disappointed here for the price. Very cute quaint store. It has a video selection it's just like redbox but they charge 2$ the first night and 1$ anymore nights you keep the movie. They have wraps and sandwiches that are good. The thing that's the best is the ice cream. The selection is limited (they do have eggs, milk, and half n half). There a good store if you don't want to do a big shopping trip or if you have a sweet tooth. Besides the ice cream they have a big candy selection. Ok now let's talk price....there a bit pricey but there a small business so it is what it is. I would rather pay more for the local man anyways.
