I do not usually go to this place. Today I went because I needed a simple regular polish change for both my toes and my fingers. I did not need a Pedi or Mani since I just got it done yesterday at my usual place but I chose the wrong color and due to the distance I decided to give this place a try. The reception attendant was nice and got me in right away. I brought my own color and so they go to it, it took a very long time I was there for over 50 min and I think I would have probably done a better job sort of thick looking on the toes and uneven on the hands/fingers when my toes where drying the girl that was working on me touch it super hard to check if it was dry and smudge her finger on it and she tried to cover it with a clear coat and I said I'm sorry but I can still see it and so annoyingly she took off the polish and reapplied on my big toe. I then I of course had to wait longer for that toe to dry a bit. I headed to the cashier and it was 33 dls well 34 dls since I paid with a credit. Anyhow I feel the price was ridiculous and the labor very bad. I guess the 1 start is for them accommodating me right away. I wish I would have gone back to my regular place. My acrylic nails came off during quarantine around April so I ordered some nail gel from Amazon to see if I could do it. It worked out ok but I really wanted the French pink & white design back. I've been to a few nail salons in Carlsbad but haven't found a salon with artistry. I stumbled upon Gel Touch through google maps & I'm so glad I found this salon. I made an appointment with Lee & she explained the difference between gel & acrylic. She & the technicians here have continuing education to keep up with ever changing trends. I didn't know there was such a thing as 100% gel nails & I'm really shocked they hold up better than acrylic. My hobbies are weightlifting & gardening so I'm pretty tough on my nails. My appointment was at 10, the nail tech strolled in at 10:15 & got to me at 10:20.. not a huge deal but kind of unprofessional since it showed that she was in no rush. The first red flag was her noticing that she got some of the dust on her shirt, so she took a brush and wiped it all over herself then immediately used it on my nails.. again not a huge deal but?? I'm an esthetician so I know disinfection protocols Anyways I asked for ombré which is what I got but it's uneven & attention to detail wasn't there for a fill, 60$ was a lot when it wasn't done well. I'm obsessed! I just moved to Carlsbad and have been looking for a place that does only gel extensions ans design and finally found it! I called in the morning and was able to get an appointment same day! I was late and they still took me. I had Angela do my nails and I'm in love! I asked for a fairly intricate design on every nail. It took 2.5 hours but well worth it! My nails are longer but they look so natural and very thin! I can still scratch and they feel like real nails! No thick acrylic, only gel which is so hard to find here in North county. When all said and done I paid $80 which is such a good price! I have found my new nail spot! read more

I come in about every 3 weeks and my nail session is truly the highlight of that week. Sometimes I have only a color in mind and most of the time no idea at all what I want to do and Lee works her magic every single time. 1 hr and 50 minutes is how long they took. They cut my nails so short some of them are down to the nail line. Cut multiple times by the dremel. Uneven nails and polish on my skin. I had the worst experience here, and super pricey. I paid $75 for a manicure pedicure. I walked in wanting a fill for my tips, I wanted long nails and gel color. I walked out with short finger nails and no color and a very unsatisfactory experience. The tech couldn't figure out my nail color that I wanted and kept going back in forth with me for a color to choose. Although another tech kept telling her which colors to mix. I told her just to do a fill and color she told me we can do a hard gel application on my natural nails and it would be stronger. She than took the color off and cut my nails very short . I asked her why she cut my nails so short? She said because your nails are weak and that I would have to pay for a full set. I said absolutely not, that is not what we discussed. She was very aggressive with me and clearly annoyed with what I was asking her. I expressed to management of my unsatisfied expired and he kept arguing back and forth with me about the price . I usually love this place. I just left after having an appointment, I got a gel mani and pedi. The paint job is fine but they "were busy" I had an appointment I had the time. They did not offer any type of pedicure. They did not give a massage, they did not do callus. I literally paid $80 to have someone put polish in my nails and toes. If I just wanted polish on I would have stayed home and did it myself. Make sure it you have an appointment to ask if they are too busy for you. I spent $80 for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure two days ago. As you can see in the picture, my GEL nail polish has chipped one day later and my manicured nails look very poor. The person doing my nails was not very clean either. She dropped the tools she was using on the ground because she was standing up and picked them up again. While all my cuticles were also dropping on the ground. Very unclean, I am disappointed in this place. The only thing it does well is the friendly man that handles the register/appointments and how pretty the place is. read more

I found this place because of Covid and it is the best!! I always had acrylic nails and had never heard of gel nails but I will never go back!! My nails are perfection every time ( I used to come home and file my nails after) and I always love the way my nails look and the "spoiled pedicure" is the best!! I go to Angela for my nails and she is an absolute artist..I can show her anything from Pinterest and she "nails" it!! Holly and Kim are my favs for pedicures. We've been in twice now. On our first visit we sprang for their "hot rock massage". It was nothing more than a handful of semi-warm stones that our technician simply rubbed around on our calves. Thanks to their busy location have a profitable little mill going here. You check in at their front desk with the owner. He sends you over to your chair. I had no idea these were massage chairs until near the end of our service---when the customer seated beside me told me. The woman doing my pedicure jabbed me so hard under the nail of one foot that I jumped. She actually drew blood. The woman working on my hands was just as brutal. We opted for gel manicures and pedicures. Nevertheless, our nails were beginning to chip by the next day. Not only my nails but my sister's as well. The technician doing my manicure drew the gel up onto the cuticle of every finger. So as it began to grow out it's left sizable ridges. They rush you to choose your colors. Time is money to these women and they make that very clear. They have one woman assigned to your feet while the other is prodding at your hands. We were left juggling as best we could. Neither my sister nor I feel any inclination to return. ############# UPDATE: They make a show of lining the foot baths with plastic garbage bags. Too bad they aren't as careful with the nail tools. I developed an abscess under my nail thanks to being jabbed by their unclean tools here. Underwent surgery to open it on Saturday. Now on a schedule of antibiotics. Great place to get nails done! Why 3 stars? Because don't plan on walking in and expect to get service without an appointment- even on a weekday. Don't be fooled by the sign on the door. Walk-ins are welcomed, but you'll WAIT!! Today was the first time in 3+years in coming here that I sat for over an hour to get a pedicure. Daughter had appointment, I didn't. It's a Wednesday at 4, waiting maybe should have been 20 minutes in most places. Owner was definitely not great at communicating that it would an EXTREMELY long wait- 65mins since we walked in and now a technician is ready. Traumatized is the best word to describe my experience. The lady cut down my nails and cuticles so bad that my fingers we were gushing blood. While bleeding all over the table, she smiled while pouring rubbing alcohol all over my open wounds... that felt really great. If that wasn't enough torture, she then painted my nails as if a 3 year old had done them so I am now in excruciating pain and my nails look horrible. Okay first off I have only done acrylics so the idea of all gel intrigued me. I called and asked how much a full set with glitter and gems would be....they said between $55-$75 I get there and I say stiletto and I got a rounded version which was not what I wanted...within 1 hour after I left gems fell off and one is starting to lift...:: When I got done it was $101!!!!! Overpriced, and you leave feeling like you didn't get your money's worth. I paid nearly 60 for a basic gel pedicure (french tip was my one add on) and I went home and used a pumice stone on my feet since it didn't feel like she did at all, and I cleaned up my own cuticles since she really didn't address them at all (obviously dead skin was left there by her). Overall I was very irritated leaving the salon and will not be back. Save your money, go elsewhere. read more

Amazing place! Highly recommended, will absolutely return. I wish I remembered who I had for a nail tech but she filed my nails well and my gel polish after 4 weeks is still holding up! Just that alone, I'm returning. I went during lunch and it was really efficient service without compromising the results. I'm super picky in how they paint my nails. I get really annoyed if the polish lays too thick or if they don't catch the sides of the nails. After the 2nd coat of polish she painted individual nails immediately followed the UV light. For this service it came out to be $33. A little more expensive but I feel it's worth it because I'm the type of person that will pick at the polish as soon as it gets caught or chips.
