Really look at the pictures before coming here! If they're good enough for you, then go ahead. Not for me though. To be honest, B and Sarah were so nice and I hate to give them a bad review, but my nails were done badly.. peeling after 2 days, etc. I stopped here on an off day bc I live close, saw good reviews.. just couldn't stand my nails anymore, but didn't wanna drive out to San Marcos. I ended up having to get them redone the same week by my usual nail tech anyway, so the trip to Red Apple was a total waste of money. Taking a closer look now at the pictures of others' nails that did give good reviews, I should have known-- what they considered "awesome" jobs were actually barely good, in my opinion. Lumpy, not filed correctly, acrylic and paint spillage that were obvious.. Admittedly a perfectionist when it comes to something I will wear every day, but these didnt even last a week. My usual nail lady was disappointed, said something about their product, filing and painting jobs (see pictures) and asked if their place/procedures seemed clean to me. It was weird that they didnt have me wash my hands at any point during the acrylics, and I didn't actually see where they pulled their sterilized(?) tools from either. In the end, she ended up taking off half of my nails that she didnt want me to keep on because of possible fungus from water damage, then refiled and repainted. Other than that, the place was clean, cute, the techs polite! An old regular came in and they all exchanged hugs and "imissedyou!"s. I thought that was sweet, so I'm not surprised they do have return customers. I'd make an appt before coming in bc theres a chance no one will be there since they are a mom/daughter shop and set their own hours. Overall, wouldn't recommend, but thanks to the atmosphere I may show up again and try a pedicure. Just NO more acrylics. read more

Absolutely awful. Never coming back. I paid $35 for a terrible BASIC white tip full set. I mean this is as basic as it comes. It's been 3 days and they already look terrible. Press on nails would've looked better and would've been cheaper. I'm really disappointed I paid for this. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and I literally live half a mile from here. I was hoping it could be my new go-to but that's NOT happening. I will be going back to my usual spot to get these fixed last minute before our trip. And spending MORE money terrible. read more

Thanks to Yelp I found this spot around the corner from my friends house while visiting in San Diego. Cute nail salon in a small shopping center. Very friendly customer service. Bee, the owner's daughter had conversation with my the entire time I was there. And let me just say besides her great customer service she gave a really good foot massage. She didn't rush through. She took her time and really gave a good pedicure. Thank you again Bee. If I'm back in this area I will stop by again to visit. And I gave them a 4 because they don't have nail dryers. My mom and I went in around 6pm on a Saturday and are from Seattle. The three ladies who we had were incredible! Sarah did my shellac manicure and I can honestly say that it was the best I've ever had-- not a single error and it looks flawless. She is so charismatic and charming and made the whole experience so great. Flower's pedicure is also very very nice! I love the way she shaped my toenails and the massage was relaxing. Annie did my moms toes, and she was so funny and sweet, we both loved talking to her. My mom says she gave a great massage and picked a great color for her. This was one of the best customer service experiences I have had at a nail salon like this, and I will definitely come back the next time I am in Oceanside. Highly highly recommended! read more

The inside is nice, music is mellow, ladies seemed sweet. I had a party of 3 come in and there was only 2 ladies working. I get it, if you are slow there won't be enough staff. But when you give a pedicure you make the client feel welcome, you don't trim the cuticles so low they sting and you definitely don't go clean the tools you just used in the middle of a pedicure. The massage they give you before painting your toes however was excellent. Maybe she could tell I was extremely annoyed. My two friends had the same complaint, very rough. We had high hopes but won't be returning. It would also be nice next time if they could engage the client. They spoke to each other the whole time in a different language. Nothing excellent about it. Do not go here! I am very forgiving to nail salons as it has to be a tough job but this place is terrible. They have steller massage chairs for pedicures and they are cheap, but you get what you pay for. The girl who did my pedicure was sweet but did a lousy job with the pumice stone, didnt even try to clean under or around the sides of my toe nails and just spread lotion on my feet rather than a massage. Worst part was her not assisting with the foot dryers or putting my sandals on prior to painting. When finished i finagled myself out of the chair, walked (barefoot) to the tiny crappy dryers and figured out how to operate it myself. The foot opening was so tiny i messed up the paint on one toe trying to position it correctly. I asked about a 10 min massage post pedi and they didnt have the proper chair. When i asked about it the owner (older male who did nothing except read a book while his girls did all the work - so i presume owner) kept muttering something in his native language and waiving his hand towards me as though to brush me off. So rude. Pardon me for trying to give them more business. Dont go here! read more

Went here on a Sunday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed my time with Bee and Sara--the mother/daughter duo. The ambiance was relaxing and clean-- just what I was looking for! They do prefer you to schedule an appointment ahead of time (which I did not) but they were very sweet and took time to give me a gel manicure and french pedicure (both turned out amazing). I just moved to the neighborhood and am thrilled to have found the place I will now be spending my relaxing time :) read more

My first and last visit. Came in Friday evening for a gel manicure and pedicure. Two coats on my gel nails were not enough, nail polish was translucent, thin, and unevenly applied. Before leaving, Sarah told me she guarantees her work and to come back if I'm not satisfied. Came back in 2 days (couldn't make it in the next day) for another coat and color change on two nails because they looked dirty and she wanted to charge me $3 per nail, after I just spent $60 on everything. Refused to pay. One week after here are my aunts acrylic nails with gel on top- clearly dirty, gross and discolored. read more

Just moved to the area so I tried out this place close to my house. When I walked in there were 2 women. One finishing up a manicure on the other. It took me a few mins to realize they were both employees doing the others nails. Makes sense. It was slow. That's fine. I had to wait a few minutes before I got set up for my pedicure. You'd think a paying customer would take priority over doing your co-workers nails. The pedicure was pleasant until the end when I noticed both my large toe nails were uneven. One side being higher than the other (slanted). When I asked if she could fix it, she said she couldn't because she had already painted the toes. The other women asked what was going on and I explained it to her as well. Then she shook her head and practicality scolded me for not saying anything prior to her painting my toes. Uhhh okay?? I didn't notice before. Then they swore that they were not slanted and were in fact straight. Uh yeah they were not. I was too upset to argue so I paid and left and fixed my toes myself with a file at home. "The customer is always right" is not a motto at this establishment. read more

I needed them to fix my butchered up job from a previous nail salon where my nails where only 8 days old. My nails where MESSED UP!!! AND THEY MADE THEM BEAUTIFUL!!! Although the end results were nice and the ladies were really friendly but I wouldn't give them anything more than 2 stars. So first off, they were very short staffed. Only 2 girls to run the whole salon. We were seated fast which was nice but because of the lack of help my cousin and I had acetone soaking on our nails for a good 20 mins while the lady did our grandma's pedicure... Which probably wasn't too good for our nails because after feeling really warm and almost even sore we took of the foil and our nails looked like they shrunk or something like that. Yes, my nails were distorted. After that, the lady that started with my nails clipped two of my nails so short that they bled!! YES, I STARTED BLEEDING. And what did she do when she noticed the blood? She poured acetone on them!! ACETONE. Of course it burned like a mother so I wiped it off. She grabs the bottle and tells me not to wipe it off and to just leave it. So I'm sitting there with my two freshly cut finger drenched in rubbing alcohol. She was obviously rushing because the edges of my nails weren't even painted on. She didn't even put lotion on or massage my hands like what usually happens after you get a manicure. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone nor ever come back. A little embarrassed that we brought our grandma here. read more

New to the area, and found this little gem of a nail place! As some might be able to relate to, it is really hard to find a quality nail place, with reasonable prices, and a clean, pleasant environment. Red Apple Nail Salon is my new go-to nail place, and fits all my criteria! Sarah, who did my gel mani, was superb, friendly, paid attention to detail and professional. I am very picky about how my gel nails are done, and the work she did was perfect. Also, I MUST mention the hand massage. She gave a wonderful hand massage afterwards, that put all others I have had to shame! The price was $27 for the gel nails (3 coats!) + the nice hand massage, which is $2 less than I was paying at my regular nail salon I went to in central SD! They also have little discount cards, where after a certain amount of visits, you get a $3, $5, $7 discount off. Also, a free 10 min massage extra on your birthday! As a teacher, I love the little discount perks. :) I left with a pretty, shiny set of blood red nails, and plan on returning for my next visit. Also, conveniently located next to Rumors Salon, which I also happen to like a lot! Highly recommend a visit here for a manicure, and make sure to make an appointment!
