The scoops were of generous sizes, and we thought all of them were delicious. The gelato itself was good, but it wasn't as smooth and texturally-pleasing as we've had elsewhere; however, we were still very happy we found this place. For a small town like GJ, the gelato is decent. In comparison to authentic gelato or the variety you would find in bigger cities, I agree it is unremarkable. It is delicious though and I've stopped by on multiple occasions especially during summer and farmers markets. The price is high in relation to the amount the give you but it's never stopped me from coming here. I love supporting small local businesses and the service here is always great. read more

Stopped by for a quick dessert for the kids. i advised the lady at the counter that my son was allergic to nuts. she told me that none of the gelato flavors had nuts. well something sure had nuts as my son started to vomit within ten minutes of eating their gelato. the low rating is because they were not sensitive to my sons allergy, if any of your children have allergies stay away from here, otherwise the gelato is decent (not awesome). read more

While we were at dinner I checked to see when they closed and showed 6:00 so we hurried to get there. Arrived before 5:30 and the gal was bringing in the sign and cone. She said they were closed and I said that's not what the website showed, she said it was wrong. I said, well I guess it needs to be updated and was she very rude and unfriendly. The interior is a bit garish and sad for a frozen treat place. An entire section of the place seemed abandoned / used for storage. Gelato flavor was apropriately sweet but otherwise unremarkable. I know it is the holiday season and it is cold here in Grand Junction but trust me. Gelato is good anytime. PLUS they have wonderful soups. The Black Bean and Chorizo is a favorite. The gelato is top notch and the owner will gladly make special batches. Just ask her, she has a ton of recipes :) We love to support small local businesses like this and really like this hidden gem. I love the gelato here, and they have the most creative flavors! It's insane what you can get here. Gluten friendly! I've enjoyed many flavors here and never had a problem with a reaction. Some employees, however, don't entirely know how to read which flavors are gluten free. So be careful, and always double check. Even if you have to see the list up front, make sure your flavor is gf. Only downside is that the prices are a little expensive for how little you get. Otherwise, awesome spot for a refreshing scoop of gelato. read more

Honestly, delicious gelato - homemade, unique flavors, that soft creamy texture that gelato should be, and amazing - our whole family loves this place. My son had a chocolate gelato shake and it was great. I had mascarpone and white chocolate gelato in a waffle cone and it was crazy good. The servers were really nice and helpful too. Apparently the price was a mistake, and just wrung up incorrectly by the girl working the register. They have offered to try to make things right. So we can't speak for the gelato but the tea was pretty good and fresh. Updating to 4 stars. We stopped in during the USA Collegiate Cycling Championships downtown. Got two 16 ounce plain iced teas for $4 each! No prices were listed for the tea, so obviously we were shocked to see the total. These were not specialty drinks, just plain iced tea, not flavored or even sweetened. What an embarrassing example of ridiculous price gouging for our community to display to the athletes and their supporters who were visiting from all over the world. If you are downtown for an event, there are a lot of other places that won't take advantage of visitors like that. If you want gelato, look for the Gelu truck; they have reasonable prices. Or any other restaurant has drinks. Don't support businesses like this that take advantage of people visiting our town. read more

A lot of great flavors and options! We went on a Friday late night, the line was decently long but the staff was moving pretty slow. Nothing against them, but there never seemed to have an urgency or rush to move through the line. With that, I expected them to be friendly and talkative (hence the line/slow move) but they were quiet and timid, it was awkward to know when we should or could order. There is a good range of flavors in both the ice cream and gelato and the people serving were very pleasant and engaging. I didn't have any myself, so while I can't comment on the gelato, I CAN say that in addition to gelato, they sell these kickass choclate chip cookies! I was in town at Christmas. Stopped in to grab something warm to drink. I had the best coffee I have had in a very long time. Puts Starbucks to shame. Since the coffee was so good I decided to try a chicken wrap and it did not disappoint. DELICIOUS! Later in my trip I was at the Palette painting and remembered the Gelato Junction was right next door. Stopped in again for a fabulous Orange Gelato and after that some more of the super coffee! I will be back in January and will absolutely be visiting a couple times while I am there! I understand it is under new management and they have really fixed it up.
