Friends and I weren't craving donuts while in Newport, so we decided on Milk & Cookies to satisfy our sweet treat cravings. You could tell the cashier was ready to go home, but I found her endearing. She was very helpful and provided descriptions of some of the cookies they had displayed. My friend got the cowboy cookie and I got the M&M cookie. We both opted out of enjoying our cookies with milk, which I guess defeats the purpose.. but the cookies were warm and tasty. They were a great size for a decent price. read more

I've been coming to this spot since 2020 during the COVID days, and the cookies remain great. They offer a wide variety of flavors, and the best part is that the cookies are always served warm. The Order: * My Go-To: I highly recommend the chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top. * Variety: They have every flavor of milk, ice cream, and cookies you could want. Timing & Atmosphere: * Avoid Weekends: I would not recommend coming here on a weekend. The store is tiny, and because it's right next to all the bars, the area gets crowded with a lot of drunk people. If that isn't your scene, stick to a weekday visit. * Rewards: It is quite expensive, but it's a nice treat. Plus, you can sign up with your phone number to get discounts for future visits. I used to order from here pretty regularly, and overall I've had good experiences--especially with their day-old cookie boxes. That was one of the best value plays: getting a dozen cookies for around $14 made it an easy repeat purchase. That said, I don't come here as often anymore, and the main reason comes down to product consistency and pricing logic. They offer two different cookie sizes at two different price points, but in many cases, they're essentially the same cookie. The larger version isn't meaningfully different in quality or experience--it's just slightly bigger. It's not like stepping up to a true premium cookie (like what you'd expect from a Hudson or Levain type product). Because of that, the pricing structure feels a bit off. From a customer perspective, it would make more sense to standardize around one size and focus on consistency rather than creating artificial tiers that don't really deliver differentiated value. Still a solid product overall, but the value proposition isn't as clear as it used to be. read more

Happened to be walking back to my car when I walked past this establishment. Almost thought they were not open but they luckily had their hours posted at an easy to see spot. Inside the cookies they offered were easily displayed, as soon as you walk in they had each cookie out so you can see what it looked like, along with the name and they also indicated if any were sold out. I chose the chocolate chip, the snickerdoodle, and the M&M cookie, which ran about $10, but they had a better offer for half a dozen, I believe that was around $14. I just did not need that many cookies in my life, as I would not be able to not eat them all. The cookies were still warm when I received them and they were incredibly soft and gooey. Absolutely delicious. They also had a very interesting variety of milk options, all in nice glass bottles. The flavors that stood out to me were orange cream, root beer and banana milk! The classic flavors were also available, I will make sure to try at least one of those flavors next time I stop by. The service was also great, the young man behind the counter was very nice and answered all the questions I had about the milk flavors with a very amicable attitude. What an amazing concept! A scoop of ice cream with a warm cookie. I got the brown butter toffee ice cream and it was to die for! It was creamy and had the perfect brown butter taste. The toffee cookie was gooey and warm and paired perfectly with the ice cream! It is a small shop so only a few people can be in there at a time. We got ours to go and the only problem was they were out of spoons, which I guess goes to show how popular their little ice cream spot is! read more

I'm a huge sucker for cookies and cream so I found myself stumbling upon this place on a night out. I got a 6-pack of Cookies (Toffee Crunch, White Chocolate Macadamia, Royal Hawaiian, & Cookies and Cream) and a Cookie Monster Scoop of Ice Cream. DELICIOUS! I'm bad at sweets (like Crumbl's cookies) but the cookies & cream had me on a chokehold that I kept returning for more. I probably could've ate it in one sitting because of how good it was! A good mix of oreo cookies and crunch to it. Same with the cookie monster ice cream! It paired well together where you didn't get disgustingly sick of how sweet it is. This is a tiny little cookie and ice cream shop on Balboa Island. You want tips on parking here? Good luck, I say. They have excellent ice cream and wonderful fresh cookies. You simply must get both if you come here. There are many different cookie flavors and fewer ice cream flavors but I don't think you can go wrong with any combination. High quality stuff. A friend had raved to me about this place. I was not as impressed. Perhaps I waited too late to visit, too close to closing. The staff barely had the energy to say hello or offer any greeting as my companion and I walked through the door. That type of treatment or mistreatment rather, has a tendency to spoil my appetite. That's probably why the vanilla ice cream and snickerdoodle cookie I ordered were mediocre. read more

I was so impressed by this small cookie spot. I had never been here before but the line was around the block so I knew it was good. We waited about 10 minutes in line before we were helped inside. We got one M&M cookie with vanilla ice cream and a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie with Oreo ice cream. It was delicious! All the cookies were being served hot and fresh, we could see always fresh cookies coming out. It was delicious and they had so many cookie flavors. I will definitely make this my new cookie spot!! Will not return. Was at the end of a sort of busy line but as soon as I took more than 5 seconds to look at the selections and ask for a sample, the girl with the gold necklace and lash extensions was very bothered we were there and was very rushy in her tone. I didn't feel very welcomed even though I was literally only looking at the dozens of flavors of cookies and ice cream that I guess I'm supposed to have picked out in 3 seconds. read more

So good! I needed a dessert for a teen end-of-the-year sports party. I cannot express how amazing these cookies are. And honestly, the price is pretty reasonable. I was looking into getting Suzie cake mini cupcakes, which are 1 to 2 bites a piece and for 24 would've been about $72. I got two dozen cookies which are agreat size for $50. Definitely keeping this in mind for all of my future dessert needs. Cookies are insane. read more

Perfect spot for a late night sweet treat! The girl working was very welcoming and patient with us while we asked questions about the cookie and ice cream flavors being offered. Highly recommend the Royal Hawaiian cookie and the Mama's butter cake ice cream! The cookie had the perfect texture and the flavor profile was so balanced, and not overly sweet. I had a great experience last weekend at Milk & Cookies. I have a mild allergy to peanuts and the staff here were very accommodating to my needs. I ordered and ice cream scoop with a single cookie and I made sure to relay that I had a peanut allergy. At first they scooped my cookie with a shared spatula but once I made that clear, a team member washed the spatula clean and got me a freshly baked cookie. They also used a new scoop to make sure that my ice cream wouldn't come in contact with any of the peanut flavors. This experience helped the team implement better standards to prevent cross contamination and I am truly appreciative of them for that. The team over here gone through great lengths to make sure that my food was safe. I did not receive anything but patience and most importantly, kindness from everyone working there. I will definitely come back here soon! read more

We ordered the one scoop on top of a cookie with the flavors Mama's Butter cake on top of a Chocolate Chip Cookie and Cookie Monster on top of a Royal Hawaiian Cookie, It was so delicious a 10/10 for sure the cold ice cream and the warm cookie was a perfect combination, The servers were very kind and helpful since it was our first time there, The location of the little shop is perfect as well right next to the beach so we got our ice cream and walked to the beach and looked at the ocean! 10/10 would definitely recommend this spot to anyone. read more

This popular establishment is located in Newport Beach and is supported greatly by the locals as I visited and waited about 20 minutes with a line out the door. Well worth the wait, they have a great selection of ice cream flavors and cookies. Prices are reasonable and service was fast. Their ice cream sandwich which consists of two cookies and a scoop of ice cream is simple yet satisfying. I ordered the ice cream sandwich with the cookie monster ice cream and it was great. There is no indoor seating as it's more of a grab and go type of establishment. One thing I'd also like to note is that they do not offer samples here if you're stuck in between flavors but that's okay. I love a warm cookie and ice cream combo, and they do it really well here! I got the airplane ice cream (which is biscoff) and paired it with a s'mores cookie. The cookie is massive and warm, and they also give a hefty amount of ice cream. I paid $7 for both, and I felt like it was a good price given the large portions. I couldn't even finish the last couple of bite - I think it was the first time ever I couldn't finish a dessert! Also, the biscoff actually tastes like biscoff, with strong hints of cinnamon. This place was good but I don't really get the hype. To be fair, I didn't try any of the milks but I got a cookie and the cookie ice cream combo which was delicious but nothing I haven't tried before. It's a cute concept, but if you're looking for something out of this world amazing I would probably go elsewhere. Store is also very small so the lines outside only appear intimidating but truly the inside can only fit maybe 2 - 3 families inside and that's prob pushing the boundaries. Milk & Cookies is located in Newport Beach so there's parking all around, with a few spots located directly in the front for convenience. We ordered three Royal Hawaiians, Salted Caramel, Cowboy Walnut and White Chocolate Macadamia. Royal Hawaiian is a fave and the others are all very moist with a little bit of a crunch, just the way I love my cookies. Customer service was helpful with a great attitude. The cookie shop was clean. I can see it getting really packed on a warm busy beach day. I do appreciate that they have locations in Fullerton, Costa Mesa and Mission Viejo - all so close. They offer homemade ice cream and plant based ice cream, which I appreciate. I love that you can create your own ice cream sandwich which I'll have to come back and order. read more

As a fellow cookie enthusiast-- I have to say, get these damn cookies away from me, and this creamy ice of orgasmic vanilla-- and this coffee and this damn joint out of my face because I just cannot with these cookies. They are so FREAKING ADDICTIVE. I'm not even going to go into detail of how chewy and bakery they are-- because nothing will do it justice until you've had a mouthful of textured sugar and nutty chocolate. These cookies are incredible!!! I can't even remember the last time I had cookies that were this good!!! Run, don't walk to this place! It's small but very cute. No indoor or outdoor seating. The service at this location is great and they are open kind of late for a cookie spot! It isn't really made for a dine-in experience and the space is very small. The cookies are warm and delicious although the drink options they offer are quite limited. Many of the drinks are just a little too sweet for my liking and is really nothing special the banana milk was super sweet and artificial tasting but I'd come back for the cookies itself. read more

I see that they had an açaí smoothie on the menu and was intrigued! Once I received my smoothie, I could tell just by visuals it was a premade frozen açaí blend of some sort that was re-blended. It tasted pretty close to the single serve frozen açaí pouches you can buy at Costco. And speaking of, the consistency was exactly like your Costco berry smoothie (and dare I say.. even the taste? lol) except of course the Costco smoothie is only $3. It wasn't great. It wasn't bad. When we arrived there was a few people in line and when the line grew a bit, I think it was a manager that stopped what he was doing to jump in and help with customers which I thought was very considerate of him to do. Lastly, the location was charming and tucked away in the corner of the plaza. It had a few tables outside and in the adjacent Pop Pie shop to sit for a few minutes to enjoy the ice cream! We also got a frozen banana covered in chocolate with sprinkles. My son didn't care for it, but I really enjoyed it. I appreciate that Dad's Donuts opens early, allowing visitors to sample their goodies. I was confused why 1) she didn't give me a receipt in the first place, then 2) she decided that was the only solution - to tell me it could not be done. After I asked her to find a solution as I needed a copy of the receipt, she finally asked her colleague beside her, who pointed her to the right place, and, voila, the receipt was printed. Leading with "I can't" is never the right customer service instinct, especially for something as basic as a receipt. I also tried to buy the butter they import from France. I stood at the case for several minutes with no acknowledgment. I finally walked over to the nearest employee (her name was Lucy) who was finishing up with a customer at the register right next to the butter section. I politely asked if she could help me when she was free. She looked at me, nodded, and said she would. Then proceeded to assist every customer who lined up behind that original customer without once glancing back in my direction. In fact, I had enough time to walk to the bakery, go through the entire gift card situation as mentioned above, and return to the butter section, and Lucy still hadn't looked over. I left without the butter. Moulin used to have fantastic service. I don't know where those regulars went, but two strikes in one visit, with two different employees, is hard to brush off.
