Each cookie individually wrapped.

Happened to be walking back to my car when I walked past this establishment. Almost thought they were not open but they luckily had their hours posted at an easy to see spot. Inside the cookies they offered were easily displayed, as soon as you walk in they had each cookie out so you can see what it looked like, along with the name and they also indicated if any were sold out. I chose the chocolate chip, the snickerdoodle, and the M&M cookie, which ran about $10, but they had a better offer for half a dozen, I believe that was around $14. I just did not need that many cookies in my life, as I would not be able to not eat them all. The cookies were still warm when I received them and they were incredibly soft and gooey. Absolutely delicious. They also had a very interesting variety of milk options, all in nice glass bottles. The flavors that stood out to me were orange cream, root beer and banana milk! The classic flavors were also available, I will make sure to try at least one of those flavors next time I stop by. The service was also great, the young man behind the counter was very nice and answered all the questions I had about the milk flavors with a very amicable attitude. Great experience all around.

I came here early evening. I got a cowboy cookie & a scoop of campfire ice cream. It was heavenly. The best! Fast, friendly service at this cute spot. They had several different flavored milk to choose from also.

Brown Butter English Toffee Homemade Ice Cream w/Toffee cookie

What an amazing concept! A scoop of ice cream with a warm cookie. I got the brown butter toffee ice cream and it was to die for! It was creamy and had the perfect brown butter taste. The toffee cookie was gooey and warm and paired perfectly with the ice cream! It is a small shop so only a few people can be in there at a time. We got ours to go and the only problem was they were out of spoons, which I guess goes to show how popular their little ice cream spot is!

Cookie Monster Homemade Ice Cream

I'm a huge sucker for cookies and cream so I found myself stumbling upon this place on a night out. I got a 6-pack of Cookies (Toffee Crunch, White Chocolate Macadamia, Royal Hawaiian, & Cookies and Cream) and a Cookie Monster Scoop of Ice Cream. DELICIOUS! I'm bad at sweets (like Crumbl's cookies) but the cookies & cream had me on a chokehold that I kept returning for more. I probably could've ate it in one sitting because of how good it was! A good mix of oreo cookies and crunch to it. Same with the cookie monster ice cream! It paired well together where you didn't get disgustingly sick of how sweet it is. Reaheating it the next day surprisingly kept the crunchy outside but soft inside. A great cookie/ice cream/dessert spot to have on my list!

Sea Salted Caramel Cookie Cookies and Creme Homemade Ice Cream. Excellent stuff here.

This is a tiny little cookie and ice cream shop on Balboa Island. You want tips on parking here? Good luck, I say. They have excellent ice cream and wonderful fresh cookies. You simply must get both if you come here. There are many different cookie flavors and fewer ice cream flavors but I don't think you can go wrong with any combination. High quality stuff. Well worth the parking nightmare.

Lemon and Blueberry Cookie, s'mores and more

All I can say is YUM!! Cookies are so fresh and delicious. The lemon blueberry was amazing and the smores full of flavor. Loved the toffee and snickerdoodle Reasonably priced. Nice and soft inside and crunchy outside. Will be back! Also took care with a nut allergy. Thank you!!

Flavors were okay. Area way too busy that made the store very dirty and not clean. Service was terrible being rushed and staff not friendly.

I got their seasonal strawberry pretzel salad and cinnamon snickerdoodle. This was my first time getting both of these flavors and let me tell you, they are definitely must tries. The strawberry pretzel salad tasted like strawberry cheesecake, which was right up my alley. And if you love cinnamon, you have to get the cinnamon snickerdoodle. It wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated. I also love that they offer gelato, açaí bowls, tea, and smoothies--such a great variety. It's located at the Newport/Balboa pier by the surfer statue, the interior is tight but manageable as the drinks come out pretty quickly. There's plenty of tables set outside to be shared amongst the other small food spots around. I visited on a Saturday morning after taking a walk up and down the pier with my pup. The line was a few folks out the door but I was at the counter ordering within a few minutes. The menu is straight and to the point, prices are what you'd expect from any coffee shop in the OC (I would think the baseline is $6-$8 per drink) They also offer smoothies and açaí bowls as well. I see that they had an açaí smoothie on the menu and was intrigued! Once I received my smoothie, I could tell just by visuals it was a premade frozen açaí blend of some sort that was re-blended. It tasted pretty close to the single serve frozen açaí pouches you can buy at Costco. And speaking of, the consistency was exactly like your Costco berry smoothie (and dare I say.. even the taste? lol) except of course the Costco smoothie is only $3. It wasn't great. It wasn't bad. It wasn't cheap ($8) but, it was a cold drink on a hot day that was artificially sweet and went down easy. And also, served by the nicest staff!! Next time I'll try their matcha (which is what I was going to order but then I had to get spontaneous lol)

I'm Filipino and was tickled to hear about the flavors...Ube Pandesal Toffee, Banana Turon Crunch & Mango Sticky Rice. We tried the Ube Pandesal Toffee and I'm quite amazed how they were able to capture that unique flavor. I grew up with making an "ice cream" sandwich by putting ice cream in a pandesal and tasting this just unleashed a core memory of being young and making an ice cream sandwich that way. We will definitely be back to try the other flavors! When we arrived there was a few people in line and when the line grew a bit, I think it was a manager that stopped what he was doing to jump in and help with customers which I thought was very considerate of him to do. Lastly, the location was charming and tucked away in the corner of the plaza. It had a few tables outside and in the adjacent Pop Pie shop to sit for a few minutes to enjoy the ice cream! The shop has been a Balboa Island staple since 1960, when it was opened by Joe "Dad" Anderson. According to local lore, a group known as the "Dew Dads" began a tradition in the 1960s of gathering early for coffee and donuts, and that tradition continues today. Some regulars even have their own hooks on the wall for their coffee mugs. The hippo sugar cookies change with the holidays. I visited around Easter, and they had Easter colors. We got a glazed donut for my son, and he loved it. I got a hippo cookie to share; it was a standard sugar cookie, but the little, colorful hippo was adorable. It's a great treat for kids of all ages. We also got a frozen banana covered in chocolate with sprinkles. My son didn't care for it, but I really enjoyed it. I appreciate that Dad's Donuts opens early, allowing visitors to sample their goodies. It felt like a classic mom-and-pop shop, and I could tell many are regulars, as the staff was on a first-name basis with some patrons. Dad's Donuts is definitely a gem on Balboa Island, and their delicious treats and charming, family-friendly atmosphere make it a must-visit.
