Brown butter pecan, Guava cream cheese
    Amanda N.

Stella Jean's ice cream is my favorite this year so far! And so far it has been McConnell's year after year. The quality, consistency and creativity of the ice cream and flavors needs no improvement. In store, one super small detail they do is metal spoons for samples when picking- it improves the experience by that much more. The young boy and girl working the counter were happy, easy to ask questions and samples of, and generous scoopers. When an ice cream shop skimps or brings a grumpy attitude, it dulls the experience. Ice cream should be a happy, lighthearted, easy, and special part of the day. I think Stella Jean's brings that to us!

What's not to like? This place has easy/ free parking, friendly team and clean establishment. There were approximately a dozen flavors to choose from when we visited. They are relaxed about samples before purchase and the scoops are appropriate size for the price, we were pleased. To- go pre packed ice cream is available as well.

Yuzu Matcha Cloud (seasonal) is so bright and zingy. Love the yuzu pop! The strawberry oat crumble is nice to pair with the yuzu matcha. The little hidden oat crumbles make you feel like you're eating a slice of crumb pie. And the best part is you can get a single scoop but split with two flavs... all the better Thankful to have V & Gf options. Service was commendable. I do wish that an ingredients list were available as well as nutrition facts. Allergens information is available though.

Located in the lab in Costa Mesa across from the camp. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a small cute ice cream shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was slow when I went but still friendly. It was only one guy working and a long line. The double chocolate, ube, and mango rice flavors were on point. It's a bit unorthodox with the flavors but still good. I give it a solid 4/5.

Ube Pandesal Toffee and Calamansi Creamsicle single scoop

I love the unique flavors here! This is my first time trying Stella Jean's Ice Cream and it was amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The storefront is shared with a pie shop and there are tables both inside and outside the store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was friendly and we got to sample a few of the flavors before we ordered. We got the single split scoop of the ube pandesal and the calamansi creamsicle and it was so delicious. The ube pandesal is an ube flavored ice cream with pandesal toffee pieces. It was such a unique and yummy flavor and I want to get a whole pint of it. We also got the calamansi creamsicle which was really refreshing. Calamansi is a filipino citrus fruit so I would recommend it if you like citrus flavors. I also liked how there was vanilla bean in the flavor.

Vegan ice cream for the boyfriend (strawberry oat crumble and mint). Baklava Cheesecake for me.

We had a sweet tooth after dinner and came here. Staff was friendly and let us try a couple flavors. I landed on the baklava cheesecake, which was so bomb. Boyfriend got the strawberry oat crumble and a mint and chip, which were both non dairy and pretty good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got it to go, but it's cute that the ice cream shop is connected to the pie place next door.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be back for our next ice cream fix.

The s'mores flavor was really good. It had a subtle smoky aftertaste that reminded me of a bonfire, which made it feel very true to the s'mores theme. It was a fun and creative flavor that stood out from typical ice cream options. Definitely a great spot if you like trying interesting, well-crafted flavors.

So after one of my favorite ice cream parlors recently closed, my kids and I were in the mood for a cold sweet treat so I opened up Yelp in about 10 minutes later we found ourselves at Stella Jean's ice cream. The workers were very helpful and helped us sample all of the ice creams that we wanted to try and after trying about five or six different ones I opted for their most popular, which was the Ube my kids got the vanilla and the chocolate. Everybody enjoyed their ice cream, really unique flavors. The only feedback I would have is that they do not offer tops for the ice cream cups. The worker did offer a larger cup to put on top of the smaller cup as a solution but usually my kids don't finish their ice cream in one sitting and it's helpful to have a dedicated top that fits snuggly just in case the ice cream melts. Definitely on the high end for four scoops of ice cream. I paid over $30.

The Banana Turon Crunch has been calling my name. I wish there wasn't jackfruit included, it was an overpowering flavor. Still very good, but the ice cream was a little icy compared to their other flavors. I like that they offer samples and have classic and rotating flavors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a few tables outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ig: @cravingswithcat

While visiting the the lab, we stop in this place Stella Jean's.....this is a California-based small-batch ice cream shop. Made with real locally ingredients . Personally I've never heard of it but it was good. Service was normal. Glad we came in today. FYI: this is a cashless shop

I have been to Stella Jeans countless of times before, but it was my goal to try their new seasonal flavors this visit. They offered banana turon crunch, earl grey pistachio pie, date shake cake, & yuzu matcha cloud for their spring lineup. I already knew that I was gonna enjoy all the flavors when I saw them revealed on their social media, but I was so shocked at how much I loved them! I ended up getting a split scoop of their banana turon crunch--a flavor I appreciate as a Filipina--& their date shake cake. I'm already devastated at the thought of these options being limited to a few months, but I hope that they make a return next year & I have full faith that they'll nail their summer lineup as well. Still dreaming about the banana turon crunch, & plotting my next visit!

Love love love this place!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the simple yet beautiful decorations[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] to the great customer service to the AMAZING ICE CREAM!!! I was so excited that they had so many coconut based/dairy free flavors, and each one was better than the last! I got to sample the strawberry oat crumble, mango pandan sticky rice, and matcha yuzu cloud. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place for kids, first dates, and groups of friends alike.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

mango sticky rice & apple butter crumble
    Sarah T.

I found out about Stella Jeans in San Diego and I am so glad that they have an OC location because they are one of the best ice cream places. This time I got the apple butter crumble (seasonal flavor) and mango sticky rice (an all time fav). They were both so good that you honestly could not even tell they're vegan. They were not overly sweet and the flavors were spot on. Some of my other fav daily flavors are their ube pandesal and milk & cookies. Their seasonal flavors are always great as well and it's always fun that they have seasonal flavors rotating.

They do have them where I'm at in Las Vegas, but I have yet to visit any of those establishments. I was super hungry and thought I want to go try that rib sandwich. Place is easy to find right off 17th Street. You really can't miss it with that big sign. And the building is definitely unique as well so you shouldn't have any problem finding it Inside you can either choose to go digital and and skip talking to a real person. I'm old school, I actually like engaging with people. So I went to the counter. I ordered the rib sandwich without looking, and was a little shocked by the total. The sandwich itself is 15 bucks, I ordered a small fry which was $4.50, and a small drink which was $4. With a 15% tip my total came out to $28. Definitely a little shell-shocked by that. Now let's talk about the sandwich. It came to the table and at first glance it looked very small. When I picked it up there was a very generous portion of rib meat inside like a big chunk of rib meat. Huge pickles and a lot of sauce. It was a great sandwich. Do not get me wrong, what I ordered again? Maybe. They don't really have a meal deal that includes fries and a drink so it's sort of all a la carte. Now let's talk about the taste. The fries were perfectly cooked, and the sandwich itself was a solid 10. That being said, I would definitely feel more comfortable paying $12 for this sandwich, as I think 15 is a little exuberant. And you don't really get that many fries for $4.50. I can't imagine what the meal deal would have been, but I'm sure people would absolutely balk at that price. I would have given it a five-star review, but that is way too much for that sandwich. As delicious as it was, I just don't feel right spending that much for a sandwich. If it could be reworked, and the price dropped down I would be all in in a heartbeat. Bottom line? If you've been wanting to try it, I say go ahead. Just be warned that you could be unpleasantly surprised unless you know what the prices are you're getting into.

We ordered three things; mint chocolate chip, rose, and milk and cereal. All with a bubble waffle cone. The service was disappointing, the guy who worked there seemed like he didn't care and it was just another job. No life to him and was just rude about asking the code for the bathroom. The mint and chip is basic. Nothing too much about it. My kids like it, so I got it. Average 3/5. The rose ice cream tasted like a rose, it was pretty good and very floral. The disappointing part is I was hoping the ice cream would be shaped like a rose as depicted on the picture. Nope, just a scoop and left it as is. 5/5 for taste and 0/5 for presentation. The milk and cereal one was actually pretty good. Especially with Frosted Flakes in it. It literally taste like cereal. 5/5. I would give it a higher star if the service complimented it and th presentation of the rose ice cream did.
