My son has been raving about Stella Jean's ice cream for awhile now and I finally got a chance to go try it myself and it did not disappoint! I'm Filipino and was tickled to hear about the flavors...Ube Pandesal Toffee, Banana Turon Crunch & Mango Sticky Rice. We tried the Ube Pandesal Toffee and I'm quite amazed how they were able to capture that unique flavor. I grew up with making an "ice cream" sandwich by putting ice cream in a pandesal and tasting this just unleashed a core memory of being young and making an ice cream sandwich that way. We will definitely be back to try the other flavors! When we arrived there was a few people in line and when the line grew a bit, I think it was a manager that stopped what he was doing to jump in and help with customers which I thought was very considerate of him to do. Stella Jean's ice cream is my favorite this year so far! And so far it has been McConnell's year after year. The quality, consistency and creativity of the ice cream and flavors needs no improvement. In store, one super small detail they do is metal spoons for samples when picking- it improves the experience by that much more. The young boy and girl working the counter were happy, easy to ask questions and samples of, and generous scoopers. When an ice cream shop skimps or brings a grumpy attitude, it dulls the experience. So after one of my favorite ice cream parlors recently closed, my kids and I were in the mood for a cold sweet treat so I opened up Yelp in about 10 minutes later we found ourselves at Stella Jean's ice cream. The workers were very helpful and helped us sample all of the ice creams that we wanted to try and after trying about five or six different ones I opted for their most popular, which was the Ube my kids got the vanilla and the chocolate. Everybody enjoyed their ice cream, really unique flavors. The only feedback I would have is that they do not offer tops for the ice cream cups. The worker did offer a larger cup to put on top of the smaller cup as a solution but usually my kids don't finish their ice cream in one sitting and it's helpful to have a dedicated top that fits snuggly just in case the ice cream melts. Definitely on the high end for four scoops of ice cream. I paid over $30. read more

I have been to Stella Jeans countless of times before, but it was my goal to try their new seasonal flavors this visit. They offered banana turon crunch, earl grey pistachio pie, date shake cake, & yuzu matcha cloud for their spring lineup. I already knew that I was gonna enjoy all the flavors when I saw them revealed on their social media, but I was so shocked at how much I loved them! I didn't even finish it; I just threw it away because it was that nasty. * Texture & Taste: It tastes like watered-down diet ice cream. It lacks any of the richness or flavor you'd expect from a specialized shop, especially for how expensive it is. I wouldn't even go back if the ice cream were free. It is located in what I call the "Golden Trio". You have Sidecar Donuts, Pop Pie, and of course, Stella Jean's. It's a small location, but quite clean and neat. Staff was friendly and patient with my indecisiveness. They have some unique blends of flavors that could not be found elsewhere, such as pandan pistachio, or creme fraiche + clementine cake. They are also good at elevating the common flavors: the addition of pandesal toffee in ube, or the toasted coconut in black sesame - truly a celebration of flavors and texture.
