Medium sized cookies & cream & tiramisu

Semi authentic Italian gelato in Anchorage. It's unlike other ice cream shops in the area. They pay homage to Italian gelato while still putting their own twist on things. They offer a variety of classic flavors, but also some more eclectic ones. Their sorbet is also pretty good though I only had a small sample! Service was super friendly, and very helpful. They were patient as I tried to select what flavor I wanted. The shop also looks to be expanding into pastries and sandwiches as well. The portion sizes were good for the price, and the ice cream was very tasty. I definitely welcome this addition to the Anchorage area! If anyone is looking for a taste of one of Italy's most delightful treats give this place a try!

Ciao! Best Gelato in town! This new ice cream store will blow your mind and taste buds. I tried the Pistachio and Hazelnut flavor. They remained me of the Gelato in Italy. It was very creamy and smooth. The gelato is made in house daily. A local gem worth visiting. The staff was very friendly. Everything was extremely clean and organized. Give it a try and enjoy it. Buon Appetito!

So friendly! And patient! Pretty sure they let us try every single flavor. And they were ALL amazing. Love the non-dairy options, too! My favorites were the hazelnut, cinnamocha oaties, and pistachio!

Cute! Definitely what downtown needs. Parking is really on accessible by street parking, but the JC Penney garage is just past it on the adjacent block which offers free parking up to an hour. Inside is very sleek and modern, but don't let that scare you off to a (perhaps) foreign concept. Gelato is a wonderful ice cream alternative! This place offers some great simple flavors while offering a few tailored toward the more adventurous palette. They also sell fancy coffees and small "coffee/bake" shop items like prepared sandwiches and the like. The staff are generous enough to offer ample sample tastes especially since this is such a new addition to downtown Anchorage. They're knowledgeable about their products, respectful and polite. They also offer a great rewards program through Clover. We tried the Ube (purple yam) and Chocolate which were lovely together! We ended up combining Sweet Cream with Salmonberry and Caramel with Hazelnut, both mediums which was the perfect size. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors!

Gelatte is a new business in downtown Anchorage right near Pangea. The store makes its own Gelato and seems to want to have a set up to serve coffee and gelato. I think it's doing a soft opening. The staff were friendly and excited but none of the flavors were labeled and it was disappointing that they were not displayed beautifully; as gelato should be. There are dairy and gluten free options available from fresh fruits that were pretty tasty but I think there was something missing. I will go back in a few months to give it another try after more practice and the shop has had sometime to put itself together fully. Right now I'm not sold.

Cute storefront! Simple and so fresh!

This is a really good gelato place given that we are in Anchorage. The space is clean and well maintained. It is also well lit which will definitely come in handy during winter. Now for their products the main attraction are of course the gelato! There are 18 flavors available during my visit, I choose pistachio after sampling several flavors. They clearly do not use artificial coloring in their gelatos which is a sigh of relief. Be prepared to see how well packed your gelato is in the cup! They do not scoop it like traditional ice cream. They pack it all in flat! There are also an option for sugar waffle cone instead of cup. They also come with a full espresso menu, sparkling/still bottled water, and some simple cafe items such as sandwiches/pastries in limited choices.

Great gelato. All homemade there in store. Homemade waffle cones as well. After cruising for 7 days, this was a welcome treat!

Both are packed with flavor. Whether ordering in or ordering to go, keep in mind it takes quite a while--almost 10 to 15 mins--for the staff to make your sandwich, so I wouldn't recommend that you stop here in you're in a hurry because you're not going to get it out fast. In this case, call ahead about 30 mins or so if you're picking up. The prices are a little high, but it's worth the price for the quality of the food you're getting, which I can't say for most restaurants in the present era (2020s for those that are reading this in the 2030s and 2040s, if this platform still exists then lol!) Either way, the quality is HIGH and the flavor factor? HIGH! The Classic Piadina is very fresh tasting and comes with greens. It only comes in one size, so it's a little small for me. Still delicious! The Nonni is a pretty large sandwich, if you're getting the full sandwich. The onions combine with the meat enhances the flavors. The building that Originale is in presents itself as a very quaint and relaxed lunch spot with bright colors and large windows. It's a place you can go to sit and talk with friends. I look forward to trying more of their sandwiches.

I went with the "Favorito," and let's just say, it instantly earned its name. The prosciutto cotto was pure-savory-bliss-melt-in-your-mouth good. And the focaccia- fresh, herby, and perfectly balanced in thickness. It hugged the fillings just right without stealing the show. Also, the tomatoes- I did not expect them to be so buttery and delicious. I may have paused mid-bite to appreciate them. Yes, I'm that person. As a die-hard cheese lover, the little bonus cube of cheese on the side felt like a tiny gift--like the sandwich was giving me a wink and saying, "Hey, I see you." Originale, I'll be back. Probably sooner than I should be.

It's just a cute place to vibe at and be around the community. There is a coffee shop, plant shop, juice shop and small market in the same building which makes it worth the stop. The seasonal ginger bread chia tea from the coffee shop is like Christmas in your mouth. The turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving with cranberry sauce and pecans. The sweet potato burban cupcake was actually to die for. The cake was moist with a carm filling of pecans and bourbon topped with a light cream cheese frosting. The sausage was good though, and a bit salty, which might have balanced the seasoning in this item but the chunks were too few and big to be balanced. - messy egg salad sandwich: a lot of dill, heavy on the pickled flavor, and good red onion crunch. This was just ok. It looked better than it tasted, unless you're a fan of dill. Mainly got this sandwich to try their bread but the bread was an afterthought. - maple rhubarb muffin: hard pass. Can't taste the rhubarb and barely any maple. The bottom also was more burnt than anything. It seems they may have over mixed their batter, muffin didn't have a tender crumb.

*insert cliche about better late than never here*…read more Wow, I've walked right by this place, dozens of times, not knowing what a gem it was! If you're near Snow City Cafe and don't want to wait 18 hrs, this is a great backup option for scrumptious food downtown! This is mostly a grab-and-go setup and they specialize in decadent croissant sandwiches. I recommend getting a combo as it comes with a sweet treat. (I love baked goods, but I often just want "a taste" and not some massive muffin/cookie/brownie) If you're looking for a breakfast sandwich in Anchorage, this is probably one of the absolute best options!

Maybe you could get away with staying in the loading zone? Hit or miss because you don't know how long it'll take to get your order if you just walk in. I got the Holy Grail. It was very good! By the time I was 2/3 in the meat became very salty and I almost couldn't finish it. Might need something more to cut the saltiness of the meat or more vinegar, and cheese, not very much of either on the sandwich. A little spendy for lunch, but worth it once in awhile. I also got the "meal" which was Mac and cheese(or salad) and a bite of one of their desserts. The Mac and cheese was HEAVY on either garlic or truffle, it was a little much. But it was good overall just not your regular Mac and cheese taste. The brownie was very good, dark chocolate. With the meal you get like 1/4 of one of their regular bars. Next time I would try the grilled cheese or back to the future sandwich. The lady making the sandwiches I think was the owner, there was also another lady helping out. I wish she would have explained things a little more like what the desserts were, I didn't realize they were right in front of me when choosing. And she didn't ask if I wanted Mac and cheese or salad with my meal. The owner you could tell took her work seriously and she loves her craft!
