The Wolfgang puck has been replaced with a cute wine bar near the grab and go section. Grab a bite after grocery shopping, after all who isn't hungry after groceries? I appreciate the unique concept. Gelsons has become synonymous with Thanksgiving for us and also weeknight, easy dinners! I love their prepared food section. It doesn't complete deplete your bank account like Erewhon and the food tastes thoughtfully seasoned and freshly prepared. As far as Thanksgiving is concerned, I will likely never cook my own Thanksgiving because I'm so in love with the ease and taste of Gelson's. Being freed up from mashing potatoes or preparing carrots allows me the time to prepare those sentimental, ancestral dishes we all crave at the holiday season. The turkey is also cooked to perfection but the other ideal part of a Gelson's thanksgiving is all the side dishes can also be purchased ala carte. Ideal! Lastly, this store is just so clean. It's bright, lots of natural light, and has easy parking that is free. I always hate paying for parking grocery shopping. This store makes grocery shopping that much easier, thanks to the prepared food, and just that much more enjoyable.

I've been coming here for the last decade. The prices have gotten to the point of absurdity, the "security" look like mall cop rejects, and there's always Instacart "shoppers" sitting and smoking cigarettes and weed in the parking lot all morning. Not to mention the self check outs are only open at odd hours so there's lines at the 2 check outs open. For what it costs to shop here they need to do better. Over it.

My sister and I are loyal customers at gelsons. We love to get a little sweet treat here, though today I was met with the worst possible piece of bread ever. IT WAS FULL OF SALT. It was titled, "cinnamon loaf", despite my mouth being overwhelmed by the immense amount of salt in the crumbles. I tried to just take off the top layer, but it was nearly impossible. The flavor of salt is still in my tastebuds because that was the only flavor the bread had. My sister and I now have matching headaches. Gelsons please lay it down with the salt!!!!

This store is like a combo of AJ's, Whole Foods, and other upscale markets...located in Calabasas so think pricey!!! They offer tons of organic, ethically-sourced foods, have a huge hot and cold area of fresh made foods. Their huge hot-food selection area had so many breakfast offerings to choose from. Their produce area is amazing and fabulous and the rest of the store offers so many varieties of upper scale products. It's expensive for sure but you get what you pay for! Everyone we encountered as we browsed and talked with were friendly, helpful, and really made the whole experience top notch! For breakfast we choose a few different things from the fresh food bar...bacon, potatoes, a slice of avocado toast and wife chose the baked sweet potato topped with an egg. So dang good and healthy and we felt so good not eating fast food! The avocado toast was the best I've had with smashed avocado topped with sliced hard-boiled egg and pea sprouts. The bacon was crispy and flavorful and the potatoes were great. I wish I would have taken more photos because they had so much to offer! Right off the 101 in Calabasas, this is a great break on a road trip and will satisfy anybody looking for a meal or snack. We also got some strawberries, nuts, apples, and wife got some of the Seven Ade lemonades...this brand is hard to find and she loves it when she does!

The store offers a great selection of staples, along with higher end items such as a huge assortment of cheeses, great prepared foods, organic items, and an extensive juice bar. We love their fresh meats and seafood selection. When things are on sale, it can be a really great deal. The quality of the meat and seafood is top-notch. When I get fish there, I almost never have to remove bones from the filets. I can't say that from other stores. We get their coupons in the mail for weekly specials, which are great deals. And, if you are a senior, I believe 62 and older, you can get a 10% discount on EVERYTHING on Tuesdays! The thing that sets this Bristol Farms apart from other places is their customer service! My encounters with the folks working there have been so pleasant, and some favorites that I have to recognize are Ty at the meat counter, Marchant in seafood, and Angie in the bakery. My all-time favorite checker was Tania, but she recently left. The one time that I had an item that didn't meet the standards I expected from Bristol Farms, I sent direct feedback to their corporate offices via their website. The matter was addressed immediately by Danny and was above and beyond what I'd hoped for. And, can I just say, The Cookie?!?

I know a lot of these are small businesses trying to make it. So I love supporting small family businesses when I can. But then you want to charge me to park for a Farmers Market market. That's where you lose me. A lot of the vendors that attend this Farmers Market know me from the Porter Ranch, Farmers Market. I am very loyal to some of the vendors. I stood in the sandwich/deli area for several minutes with no acknowledgment. Since no one came over, I walked to the hot food side where the employee was already assisting others. After finishing with those customers, the employee looked directly at me and then walked away to do other tasks without saying a word. No greeting, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. A second, younger employee came over and also failed to acknowledge me, even though I was clearly standing there waiting. Shortly after, another customer approached. I saw her arrive after I had already been waiting, yet she was helped before me without any explanation. I continued to stand there, still unacknowledged, until I finally had to speak up and say, "I've been standing here." At that point, I was told the other customer had been there before me, which was not accurate based on what I observed. The entire situation felt disorganized, dismissive, and honestly very rude--especially since I was standing there with my daughter the entire time. This could have easily been avoided with basic communication. A simple acknowledgment or a clear system for helping customers (like a number system) would go a long way. Instead, it felt like customers could be ignored and skipped with no accountability. Very disappointing experience.
